About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Explorer061745632980 contributionsGreat day out!We had a great time on this tour. Emanuel was an excellent guide and seemed to really enjoy telling us the history of both castles. It’s a long, long day but if you’re prepared for this it’s fine. The castles are very busy but Emanuel worked very hard to keep the tour running on time. Very touristy but still fun.Written 2 November 2024
- ellenmZ6468XV0 contributionsGreat day tripGreat tour. Dani was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Unlike some day trips, plenty of time was allocated to each location. I enjoyed Bran and Dracula castle the most , particularly as it was Halloween. Highly recommendWritten 1 November 2024
- laurelhelll0 contributionshighly recommend this tour!a really well organised tour which I honestly couldn’t fault. our guide Dani was great and so knowledgeable, giving us information before every stop and during the Peles Castle experience. props to the driver too as it’s such a long day! drop offs and pickups were prompt and everything was explained to us (eg. we swapped Bran Castle and Braşov on the day because it was Halloween and queues were crazy). I loved seeing Braşov and would highly recommend Restaurant Gustari in the square for some traditional Romanian food (recommended by our guide). Bran castle was honestly breathtaking, queues were crazy and it was so busy but I assume it’s because of the time of year, however be prepared for this. It’s a long day but very worth it in my opinion. thanks so much to our guide and driver, highly recommend to all 🫶Written 1 November 2024
- G9573CNelifa0 contributionsGreat Autumn ExperienceOur guide Sergiu was great, he gave all necessary information and used the time on the bus well. He was just the right amount of funny. The bus was good to travel with. Autumn was a great season for this tour since the views were amazing. We loved Sinaia (town of Peles castle) and Brasov. Personally I found Bran castle a bit unnecessary but still okay overall. Traffic was horrible on the way back and we arrived back at Bucharest around midnight. So I dont recommend Sundays or any days you have additional plans for rhe evening.Written 29 October 2024
- W1153XJsuec0 contributionsVery long dayGroup too large-57 on coach. No time to find proper food. Toilets were a problem particularly at Peleş Palace. Not enough time at each location. We spent the entire time queuing and not actually seeing anything. The journey back was awful as it took over 4.5 hours to get back to Bucharest, arriving 11.30pm. Braşov was lovely but only had just over an hour there. It was nice to see the country and the different style of architecture in the little towns and villages we past through even if it was through coach windowWritten 28 October 2024
- Andyjsb0 contributionsLong day! 7.30 am - 10.15 pmLeft at 7.30 local time spent a total of 9 hours in the coach, 90 minutes at peles, 2 hours at bran castle 1 hour at brasov. It was a Saturday before halloween, during half term so roads busy and queues long. Driver and guide excelled themselves. Tour would be better if it was both castles at peles, on same site, and longer at bran castle.Written 26 October 2024
- nataliavT3996FG0 contributionsTransylvaniaSo cool!!! Great trip. Castles were so beautiful. Brasov was beautiful. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. I would recommend this trip to others.Written 26 October 2024
- Barbara C0 contributionsLong day but overall enjoyedWe had no way of finding out which of the many plain white tour buses was ours. Drivers were rude and unhelpful. We then were located by the driver who didn't have our phone number. He has WhatsApped the rest of the passengers who were all waiting as they had the message. Probably travel agents fault but we nearly missed the tour. Vlad the guide was patient. Peles queues far too long. Beautiful castle though. Draculas castle ok but smaller than I expected. Brasov a lovely village.Written 26 October 2024
- Yrwelcome80 contributionsTourguideTour guide Christine was the problem. However, she was extremely knowledgeable she was unprofessional, rude, and aggorant. Perhaps she had a bad day or was covering for another person. The castles were lovely, barns c. Itvus undergoing construction at present. The walking tour of Brasov was poor. The tourguide had her mic off for most of it, and she was extremely hard to understand.Written 23 October 2024
- Whitts280 contributionsTo Draculas castleOverall good day out! Our guide Emanuel was very informative about the locations and about the history of all locations and castle. Was pretty good with managing the other tourists which kept us on time and avoiding traffic on the way back which is a must.Written 19 October 2024
- ashleyrM5101ZU0 contributionsGreat day trip from Bucharest to key sitesOur tour with Alex on 10/13 was great. I appreciated that he confirmed key information on the meeting point and cash recommendation for Peles castle tickets the night before and sent a WhatsApp message with pins for meeting points throughout the day. This made the meeting points very easy to find. Alex was a very engaging guide, sharing great information on the sites and history of Romania overall. I also thought it was very nice that he sent around a notebook for people to write questions. On a large bus, this is an excellent idea to engage with participants. We did experience long lines at Peles and traffic back to Bucharest at the end of the day but the tour did its best to minimize these delays and also kept passengers informed of the situation. Overall, would definitely recommend this tour to others looking for a day trip from Bucharest.Written 18 October 2024
- Redkath7890 contributionsAvoid! Do not go on this tourThe places we visited were good, but the day was let down by a rude and dictatorial tour guide. I understand that this was down to the tight itinerary. The three places visited plus the travelling time (3hours each way) mean that times have to be rigidly enforced. Having said that it is not acceptable to leave a passenger who was 7 minutes late to the pickup point behind, particularly as he was in communication with our guide Dani by phone. He was left on his own in Transylvania, in an unfamiliar country where he didn’t speak the language on a very rainy day. The company did not accept they had a duty of care to their passengers. Also, it is forbidden to eat and drink on the coach, which means in a packed day there is very little opportunity to grab a drink or something to eat when off the coach. As the queues for the ladies toilets are very long, particularly at Peles Castle, you will go hungry on this tour! The strict rules left us hungry and stressed and spoilt the day for all of our group.Written 15 October 2024
- JUSTTHE2OFUS63770 contributionsAwfullDo not even consider One Excellence Tours. The tour guide Dani talks down to you as if you are a child. He is nasty, disrespectful and his knowledge of the places you visit comes across as boring. He said if we were back late to the coach we would have to sing and dance in front of the whole coach. Such bulling behaviour. One of our fellow passengers was back late to the coach by 7 minutes as he got lost and Dani him left behind. Dani told us about the gentleman's misfortune with such sarcasm. The same gentleman was picked up by a later One Excellence coach and brought to our next destination stop. When he tried to board our coach Dani would not let him do so. The gentleman was on his own, over 60 and told to get a bus and train to return to his hotel some 4 hours away. I and the other passengers on the coach literally pleaded for this gentleman not to just be left in a country,/destination he did not know. Dani refused. Many fellow travellers were as disgusted and upset as me. In the UK under Duty of Care this would not happened. If a UK tour guide had acted in this manner he would face being disciplined or even losing his job. This is inappropriate behaviour and the company who employs Dani should understand this. This does not make for good customer care.Written 15 October 2024
- KarenJoy500 contributionsA great day out!The trip was very efficient with the guide Dani providing lots of useful information along the way and the different destinations. Timings and instructions were made very clear and travel time. The castles are amazing to see and Brasov is beautiful too. An hour in Brasov is just enough to get a feel for it, longer would be nice however not possible during a day trip. The countryside was stunning to see and many thanks to the diligent driver who drove us through the windy mountain roads safely. A truly enjoyable day out, thank you :)Written 15 October 2024
- Deborah P0 contributionsAvoid…..The afternoon before the trip we received a message from the tour leader I had responded to this and had a few questions and was ignored. I had google searched the grand hotel our meeting point and sadly I had found the wrong one so when we realised my mistake and the actual meeting point was 3 streets away I try to call the tour guide multiple times … my calls where ignored…. We arrived at 7.32 ( bus leaves at 7.30) no one had checked why we hadn’t arrived they just left …. A group of 4 people also had got there a few minutes before us … same issue phone call being ignored …. When I spoke to customer service I had a very rude response and no care for how we had been treated … more happy they got my money than make sure my customer experience was good …Written 14 October 2024

Since we wanted to see more than the typical Transylvania tour, my boyfriend and I booked the 6 days tour to see Romania Our guide was Marius, who was informative, friendly and fun. By the end of the tour he felt more like a traveling friend than a guide. Tour was nicely paced and Marius gave us plenty of free time to explore on our own. The hotels were all excellent. This tour included 2 nights at a home stay in Maramures, which was my absolute favorite. The home cooked meals by Elena, who used fresh ingredients from their garden, hens and local farmers, were absolutely delicious. You could tell right away that the meals were made with love by her. During this tour, you see all the beautiful wooden churches, monasteries, cemeteries, mountains and farm life in Romania. We got to spend more time at each location than you would with a one day tour, which is why I would highly recommend this tour if you want to see the real Romania.

We just returned yesterday to Bucharest from a grand tour into Romania. It all started out with a full day visit to important sites in Bucharest then we headed out to the country. First of all, the country is stupendous. Our biggest impression was nature, the mountains, streams, deep mysterious forest. And the beautiful cities of Sibiu, Braşov, Sighişoara and more were unforgettable. Paul had arranged everything impeccably. He is a fountain of knowledge complete with dates of buildings. Amazing. We went in his super, big sedan for days on the road. Laughed, talked, told life stories and in general had a super time. If you go don’t miss the stop over in the absolutely enchanting village of Breb in Maremures. A high point. Paul has our highest recommendations. Truly, he went above and beyond in helping us to connect with relatives outside of Suceava, serving as translator during our evening there and then delivering a gift from us to the family in Moldavia. Thanks, Paul. An amazing time.

Wow! What a great 6 days to see Romania. We wanted to see a bit more than the typical Transylvania tour. Our guide was Marius, super friendly, fun and informative. By the end of the tour he felt more like a traveling friend than a guide. Tour was nicely paced, without early departing times. Plenty of free time to explore on your own. Hotels were all great, with my favorite being the home stay in Maramures. The home cooked meals by Elena were sooo good but her fresh baked bread was out of this world. I overstuffed myself both days. You see all the beautiful wooden churches, monasteries, cemeteries, mountains and farm life in Romania. We even saw a bear on the side of the road which is rare at our elevation. We got to spend more time at the location than you would with a one day tour. I would recommend this tour to anybody if you want to see the real Romania
