- 1Build in the 1980's , Palace of Parliament in Bucharest is Europe's biggest administrative building and world's second only behind Pentagon from the USA. Join us to private tour in the safest possible way and be blown away by this gigantic place born from the megalomania and big ego of Romania's last communist dictator.
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- europeansoul780 contributionsHauntingly sadThe building is so formidable it takes your breath away, even on approach. A truly special place both mesmerising and hauntingly sad when you realise it was build with 30% of the annual Romanian budget. It’s a warning from history, beware the “gold tap and chandelier” crowd, they are only in it for themselves. Great tour, fascinating place and a tragic piece of Romanian and Cold War history.Written 17 November 2024
- H6289LOandrewh0 contributions2nd largest administrative building in the worldWell worth a visit - you get to see about 10 rooms of the 1100 they have - each one is big and has the decorations and carpets from when it was built. Without spoiling the tour, the information by the guide was very informative not only why the architectural style was chosen but also about some of the history about why the building was built, it's location etc - very informative -Written 21 October 2024
- V1185PXkevina0 contributionsSimple and straightforwardStraightforward and simple instructions on getting your tickets and where the meet-up point is. The guide in the Palace of Parliament is well-informed and interesting to listen to. Happy that I booked the ticket here. It made it much easier for me to organize my activities.Written 12 October 2024
- UManitoba0 contributionsAvoid this agency for Parliament tickets. You're wasting time and money using this agency to visit the Romanian Parliament. You are asked to arrive 30 minutes early for an agent to take you for a 10 minute walk to the Parliament. After your reservation is confirmed, the agent leaves you in the hands of the guide hired by the Parliament. It is faster buying at the gate. The TW agent was rude, cooperative and related stories about clients who claimed about how too slow or too fast she was walking to Parliament. Decidedly unhappy in her job. The guide hired by Parliament was excellentWritten 9 October 2024
- 430suz0 contributionsImpressiveA must see building in Bucharest Romania for its architecture & sheer size. We were not able to tour, as it was booked the days we visited. We were able to view some rooms as well as the exquisite gardens.Written 30 September 2024
- kokes20 contributionsPoor coordination, poor communication, poor linksLet me start by making a distinction between the actual tour in which parliamentary staff give and the tour company that does the logistics for one to attend the tour. In this case, the tour company who planned this was awful. Firstly, I had to contact THEM if the tour was still available. (If you read the small print for their tour, they state that if they do not have enough people they will arbitrarily cancel the tour. To that end, since I never heard from them on the day of tour, I finally contacted them at 12:54 and queried them about our tour that was planned for 3:00. The tour operator then sent me a message at 1:13 that our tour starts at 2:00. Shocked but knowing the area we left immediately and rushed to the map location and found no one there. We then informed them of this and they sent another link which was not linkable. I asked to send the link again. I heard nothing back. We then fluked finding the senate entrance where we ran into their colleague at security. Explained our situation, our having to rush (literally ran to location), the failed link, the overall confusion and he did not seem to care. Just checked us in as if nothing mattered. So, book the tour with anyone except for these people.Written 25 September 2024
- Pioneer6559190 contributionsNice guide, nice tourThe guide escorted us from the meeting point to the parliment, took photos for us, managed the entry inside the security area. A very nice building. A must in BucarestWritten 18 September 2024
- fredic0 contributionsMake sure you are early so you don't get told offI booked the tour thinking I had booked directly with the presidential palace. We therefore headed to the visitors centre. At the last minute, I checked the booking confirmation and saw the meeting point was the travel agent office. My husband and friend went to the visitors centre and were there for 3pm;our tour time. I arrived and went to the back of the passport queue check. A palace employee asked for our tickets. She politely said there were two types of ticket and to wait there. The next thing, the Transylvanian Wonders representative came rushing in asking for my name. She brusquely said to follow her and then in front of the rest of the group started to berate me for being late. I fully admited I was late but she continued to ask me to confirm my telephone number and show me the message she had sent me. I kept saying that I believed her and then got very upset. After that, she was very friendly. I had received a scam message that morning so incorrectly assumed her text was one too. Another trip I booked had the name of the trip at the beginning so I knew straightaway that was not a scam. Perhaps this could be adopted. I fully acknowledge I was in the wrong for not being early but it was the way I was berated in front of everybody that I didn't appreciate. I have seen another negative post about the company on TA and this was the only one that the company responded to so I expect this will happen here too.Written 17 September 2024
- ronaldellul0 contributionsExcursion to the Palace of ParliamentHad pre-booked tour with Viator [Transylvania Wonders] - certainly one of the must visit places when in Bucharest. Enormous building with over 1000 rooms and featuring extravagant design and fixtures. You have to be there to really appreciate what it was / is all about. As for tour and the organisers, everything was handled efficiently.Written 14 September 2024
- Ana M0 contributionsWorth it to get into the Parliament!Getting in to the Parliament is really tough. I tried getting in on my own, and even had our hotel concierge call and try to get us in but no luck. I was really glad to find that for a few extra bucks, we could book the tickets through this company. The meeting spot was a brisk 10 minute walk from the Parliament building, and the guides walked us over, got us in through security and handed us off to the Parliament tour guide very efficiently. The tour itself was wonderful - the guide was entertaining and we learned lots of interesting facts and were left in awe of this ornate building and its history. The tour was actually the perfect length for young kids who remained attentive for the full hour and a half. Must do if you’re in Bucharest!Written 7 September 2024
- robertbZ9829ZN0 contributionsWorth It for the AccessI don't usually sign up for tours, but it's not that easy to get into the Palace of Parliament on your own, so the ease of access was worth it. And our guide was excellent, taking us through many ceremonial and function rooms and explaining how each one was used. My only regret is that we didn't get to see any of the spaces used by the parliament itself.Written 31 August 2024
- Gimmee40 contributionsGreat value. Well organised, timely, informativeThis tour delivers exactly what is says. Guides you through entry and security to your English-speaking guide. The guide was pleasant, engaging and knowledgeable. You see a selection of the grand rooms with some fascinating background information. Highly recommendedWritten 25 August 2024
- getawayanyday0 contributionsHas to be seen to be believed.Good contact before tour and Ioana was very helpful. You are handed over to the building hosts at the venue and the tour was amazing. It is a huge building and the interior is amazing, no expense spared by a communist dictator.Written 3 August 2024
- MarkCBurbank0 contributionsThe Palace Parliament Building Bucharest. If you ensure you get to the meeting point 35 minutes early you will be treated to a fantastic experience. The building is enormous but beautiful inside and out. You will get a very nice tour guide snide and learn about the details of the place. It is well worth paying a little extra to make sure you in fact get to visit instead of trying to do it yourself and missing it. The person who organized the visit communicated several times where the meeting point was and stressed you had to be on time or you risk missing the visit. She was calling the people who were running late as well so she definitely did her part. Well worth the time to do this in Bucharest.Written 6 July 2024
- ksufan880 contributionsAllow plenty of time before the tour to find the check-in location and walk the 5 minutes to the parliament buildingWe were advised to arrive at the check-in location 30 minutes before our tour and were glad that we arrived 45 minutes early since we wandered around for a time before finally spotting the office. The tour of the parliament was actually done by an employee at parliament and not the tour company. There were about 30 people in the tour group, and we had no problem hearing as long as we were near the front.Written 25 June 2024
