Insightful and impactful - highly recommended
It is quite something to witness the aftermath of such a pivotal moment in history and the human tragedy that goes with it. Russia's invasion has left a dark and cold shadow which can still send a shiver down the spine during certain parts of the Bucha tour. Yet there are also signs of renewal and life returning which provide hope. Svit manages the tour well, is good company and has some interesting insights. Overall, Kyiv and the surrounding oblast felt safe and I would not hesitate to return. I highly recommend visiting Kyiv and taking this tour. Slava Ukraine !

Memorable tour of the horrors of war
An honest and well informed tour that takes you through those suburbs that have suffered the most during the Russian occupation in spring 2022. Svet provides a lot of background information about the conflict. Besides the more obvious places, he also takes you to previously normal neighbourhoods to see and hear how life has suddenly turned into hell for the inhabitants. There is of course a lot of rebuilding going on as people try to get their lives backt to normal. So if you still want to get some firsthand impressions about what it was like under Russian occupation, better go soon.

One of the best guides in kyiv
I have traveled halfway around the world and Svet is a wonderful person and an excellent guide. My English is limited and I haven't had any problems. On this tour, everything Svet tells is almost as important as everything you see. Since I will return, I will surely contact him again. Recommended 100%

Excellent way to learn about Russia’s war on Ukraine
This is a really important tour that will help you understand Russia’s war on Ukraine, and how it unfolded around Kyiv. It tells a story of critical battles in the early part of the war, and helps you contextualize what is happening in the war overall. Svet is not just a tour guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about the war and he is also able to discuss and debate key points in a very open and unbiased way. I learned so much from him! I highly recommend to anyone who visits Kyiv, and wants to understand the war to go on this tour with Svet.

This tour is an exciting way to explore Kyiv in 1 day
The tour covered a comprehensive selection of Kyiv's attractions, providing us with a well-rounded view of the city's rich history and contemporary culture. Our guide Svit was not just a cool guide, he was exceptional. His knowledge of Kyiv's history, culture, and hidden gems was impressive. The tour included a visit to the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, this extensive complex with stunning churches, museums, and the famous Lavra Caves - it's a true highlight of the tour. Svit navigated us through this site, sharing captivating stories and historical context. Svit's friendly and accommodating nature made the tour feel like a journey with a knowledgeable friend rather than a standard guide. Overall, this tour is highly recommended for anyone looking to discover the heart and soul of the Ukrainian capital.

Tour of Kyiv and war affected zones with Svet
Under the amazing guidance of Svet, our tour encompassed areas impacted by the war, specifically the towns of Bucha, Irpin, and Moschun but also some sites within the city. Each of these locations gave testament to the severity of the conflict, with Svet meticulously detailing the historical and contemporary significance of the events that transpired there. After seeing some of the impacts of the war we moved on to the heart of Kyiv. This part of the tour was enriched by Svet's vast knowledge of the city's history and culture. He also offered recommendations for authentic dining experiences and provided advice for navigating the city's streets and metro. Overall, Svet's tour covered both Kyiv's recent events and past history in a very in depth and enjoyable way. It's a tour I'd highly recommend for those seeking a deeper understanding of this city. Thank you Svet!!

          Solo Tour in Wartime Kyiv
🇺🇸 I’m from USA and booked this tour as a solo traveler who had never been to Kyiv before. So first things first, Svet, the tour guide, is fluent in 5 languages and I never once had any difficulty understanding him. Svet was extremely accommodating due to the fact that many places were closed due to the ongoing war with the Orcs. Despite so much of the tour being determined by closed museums/monuments/etc never once did it ever feel like we weren’t on a custom built 5 Star tour as Svet’s knowledge of history, culture, language, music, you name it, allowed him to pivot and take advantage of every nook and cranny of this amazing city to tell a new story or talk about Kyiv’s past or connection to the rest of the world. 🇺🇦 One of the things I found most fascinating about the tour was Svet himself. For the past 1.5 years the tourism industry has been obviously non-existent, so Svet who is already a veteran of the Ukrainian army, took to playing the drums publically to raise money for Ukrainian soldiers. He became somewhat of a local celebrity and has raised thousands for the Ukrainian military - and he donated half of what he made from my tour to the soldiers as well. Talk about integrity. 🌍 One of my absolute favorite points of the tour was walking through the catacombs of a monestary and Svet quizzing me on the names of 1,000+ year old saints and martyrs written in old Rus language. For anyone who loves historical details, deep diving cultural roots and traditions, exploring off the beaten path of the general tourist, and/or chilling like a local townie then this is hands down the best tour you can hire anywhere in this world!

          Fantastic Tour with Svit
Svit was a FANTASTIC tour guide- we appreciated getting all the thoughtful insights and details on history. Even my teenagers enjoyed touring the grounds on a cold and windy day- was great to get out for a walk, see the place, check out the cars and all the little surprises along the way. We went as a family of six and all enjoyed the tour. Looking forward to more tours with Svit in the future while we live in Kyiv.

Great time at the Museum of Strategic Missile Forces
I had a great time with Capital Tours and Transfers on the tour of the Museum of Strategic Missile Forces, which was a Soviet missile base. The driver, guide and owner of Capital Tours was Svet. I highly recommend this tour by Svet. First, he picked the right day for the tour. It was clear and sunny, almost warm. Some exhibits, like the Satan missile, were outside, and the ground was covered in snow. If we had gone the day before we would've been in snow fall. The base was in a remote rural area of about 300 km south of Kiev. But, Svet was a very skilled driver and took only a few hours to get to the base. His English was 10/10 and I could ask him anything about both the recent and Soviet eras of Ukraine. The tour took us briefly through an indoor museum with lots of Soviet era exhibits, then we went underground to the command silo. There was a man at the base who lead us through the exhibits inside and outside the silo. There were passages to walk down, some ladders to climb, and also a small elevator to go up and down the silo. Much of the Soviet equipment and components were still in place. I was free to ask Svet and the man there all sorts of technical questions about the silo and the base. They explained the inner workings of the base. There was a fee I had to pay to the base, and I paid about 20 Euros after we came up from the silo. Outside the silo was a collection of missile carriers, trucks, jets, rockets, artillery, helicopters, and the SS-18 Satan missile. Svet's price for the tour for a single person was quite reasonable. I would definitely visit this place again if I come back to Ukraine. If you love learning Soviet or military history, you must go on this tour. I really recommend Svet for his reliability and experience.

A perfect choice of tour if you want to spend one day out of Kiev
Great experience and enlightening, thanks to our guide Alex. We visited Mezhyhirya in about 4 hours with the pick up from Kiev central hotel. This place is truly remarkable and contains many surprising facts, these buildings remind of what corruption is capable of. We didn't waste a minute on this private tour, and even on the way we learned a lot of interesting things about Ukraine as a whole.

I would like to thank my guide Svet for this wonderful experience. It is interesting to see exact houses as they were in different periods of time especially when the guide is so knowledgeable of the history of the country and architecture. My guide also added some special places on the way that made the whole experience complete.
