Went on a afternoon visit to a foster home of a lady who takes care of 11 kids who are without parents or parents who are unable to care for them. The home owner and the children were very kind and welcoming. They were very happy with the large donation of food to help make this expense more easy. The Guid I had from the city to the foster home was very nice and spoke perfect English.the nice thing is round-trip transportation is covered and the guest (you) don't have to pay for this cost. I would highly recommend this experience because you get to help out children in need.

For me, this was the tour of a lifetime and it could never have happened without the help of Violet and My Ukraine Guide. My grandparents were from an area deep in Transcarpathia where few people speak English and the transit options are somewhat limited. Violet made sure everything ran smoothly and helped me communicate with people in the area during this four-day trip. She is also just a wonderful, interesting, and fun person to travel with. I had been visiting Ukraine for a few days in early july and tried to find the roots of my family. For that purpose i contacted in advance to my trip, Mr Vasyl Kuzyk at ace131@windoslive.com, with the precious help of Trip Advisor He resulted to be not only a dynamic and excelent professional, but also a great person with unique moral values He understood very well my needs and the trip was a complete succes. After 3 intense days together travelling together from Ternopil to Lviv, I found my roots. Based on my requests, he also included in his services, Guided Tours at each of the main cities we visited, so it gave me a better understanding of Ukraine history and nowadays reality. I am realy happy with my short visit to Ukraine and without doubt I´ll return !!

I am organizing a charity car rally which supports childrens' homes and orphanages in Eastern Europe. This trip was labeled as a nine day Ukraine river cruise and we did spend four days cruising but most of the time we were docked either in Odessa or Kiev. Odessa was a lovely green city with lots of 18 century buildings and a fine opera house where we saw Swan Lake. The countryside is not that interesting and the tours seemed forced. That said, the Viking Company does a reputable job trying to make a former Soviet Republic interesting. If you go from Odessa to Kiev chose an even numbered cabin or you will spend most of your time looking at concrete with pedestrians checking out your balcony.

I was picked up by Sasha at the hotel lobby. She has very charming personality and her English is excellent. She knows the ropes around the city and can surprise you by the details you will never find in the tour guides. We’ve seen Kiev of the past and present and each time I could learn something new about this amazing city. All the time I felt safe and cared about. Try excellent coffee and cakes to restore your strengths after this wonderful walk. I recommend this excursion to everyone who wants to see the “real” Kiev :)

I was in Ukraine recently last month, this being my second time to the country. I went back to Kiev, Ukraine after visiting Odessa and Kharkiv. Although I was in Kiev last year, after sightseeing landmarks I never spent time finding good local places to eat and drink, until last month. I was very amazed thanks to Sasha, for showing me the best places to eat and drink, from restaurants to a micro brewery, away from the tourist crowd and more Ukrainian. Not only does Sasha show good local restaurants, also very intelligent on local and Ukrainian history. Unlike other tour guides, she is considered more a friend and also gives good advice for travelers on sightseeing. I would definitely recommend her to anyone at home, if they go to Kiev and want to try out local restaurants.

Me and my friend went on the Charkov nightlife tour with our lovely guide Anastasiia. As she is living in Charkov she knew all the right places for an amazing night out in Charkov. At first we choose to eat in an quality restaurant wich was recommended by Anastasiia. The food was delicious there and meanwhile we made plans to visit a beerbar after dinner. This is what we did after. Before we where at the beerbar we had to walk to the center of Charkov. While walking Anastasiia shows us some interesting things and places like the freedom square,the opera building and the Shevchenko monument. In the beerbar we enjoyed an delicious beer brewed in Charkov. Now it was time to visit The Yellow Zeppelin rock bar. Because of Halloween night there were performing some bands. We saw the last band playing there. Those 3 guys (also from The Netherlands like us) really played some good punk/rock music. We even ''danced'' on their music. Anastasiia was a little bit scared that something will happen to us while (rough) dancing but of course everything went okay. The Altbeerbar was our next destination. A place with Ukraine and Modern music. There we did some dancing again but now Anastasiia joined us on the dancefloor. Of course we noticed directly that her dancing skills were much better than ours! At last we visited a nightclub but for a review of this experience it's better to ask Anastasiia herself what she found of this club when you have booked the Charkov tour including this amazing guide!!!

I have spent great time with Sasha.. she is such a wonderful and lovely girl I must say.. she is honest, professional, organized, Highly intelligent and actually the best at what she does.. She toured me everywhere in Kiev, all sites, churches, cathedrals, military museum and most of all she take me to very nice restaurants and coffees hops.. overall, unforgettable experience..

Mariya was an excellent guide, translator and speaks fluent English, Ukrainian and Russian. She is very service minded, genuine and helpful. She helped me several times during my visit to Kiev.
