We stayed on the third floor of a one bedroom AB&B on Plaza de la Independencia in the Casco Viejo, the old part of town. Location is important. Many HUGE hotels in the "Business" side of town. We could walk to almost everything that we were interested in. $10 cab ride to the Canal Locks. Ate in twice each day and found small LOVELY places for lunch or dinner out. Shops, small grocery store, Indigenous women dancing, playing flutes, involving young people in the plaza. Cathedral bells tolling during the day. VERY kind cops who suggested directions and recommended The Coca Cola Café (Pancakes and coffee under $5.00. We've visited over 50 countries. Panama is one of the BEST.

The guide was knowledgeable and kind. We did feel rushed as we weren't able to read and look at the artifacts at Panama Viego site and museum.

BUYER BEWARE!! Be very careful booking with this company. I booked a day trip weeks ago thru a third party company. Live Folks NEVER reached out to us to confirm any details even though they had our cell phone and email info. I was told we would get a confirmation my 8pm the night before the trip. Never received it so I contacted them directly but it was after hours by then. By the time they got back to me the next day, the trip had left and we missed out. They never picked us up. And then they refused to refund ANY of our money. They said they reached out to me thru a website that I don’t even have an account with. Be VERY careful using this company. There are many other choices out there

Very interesting historical site, part of the World Heritage sites (UNESCO) . A guide is strongly recommended for having historical information's of the Castillo otherwise you risk to miss the importance of this site that's was part of a Spanish defense system and its peculiarity. You will be transported in the fascinating word of conquistador's galleons devoted to gold transportation, buccaneers and pirates.

This full day of activities was exactly what I was looking for. If you’re here for one day and want to see Panama and don’t want to learn about the canal (because you’re already taking a cruise or a tour that is going to do just that) then this is the tour for you! I love animals and the trip to the zoo and the butterfly sanctuary was fantastic! I saw jaguars and tapirs as well as other animals that I have never seen. On the same trip, I went to the butterfly, sanctuary and Gamboa and this butterfly sanctuary was much better. Tons more butterflies, including a lot of the blue ones that I didn’t get a picture of in the other sanctuary because they were so few. A very small trek to the waterfall. It was very satisfying. I wear a brace and I was able to handle the few stairs involved. Then you get to go to see petroglyphs, which is another one of my favorite things to do. You’ll get a chance to visit the local market, as well as eat in town. And if you think you’re done, don’t forget the hot springs where you can put on a mud mask and your skin will be super soft afterward. all these activities are in one small town, which make it very possible to go from place to place within a few minutes by your driver and guide, who is so knowledgeable, spoke perfect English, and made so many activities in one day so much fun!

Mom and I always schedule private tours to learn the history of every location to which we travel. This tour was one of the best tours we've taken. I reached out to Live Folks, via whatsapp, and received a response very quickly from a live person who answered all of my questions. I booked directly with Live Folks and they sent me a payment link and emails with all of the information I needed. Hector, our guide, was knowledgeable, personable, patient, and engaging. He answered all of our questions, and we had a lot. The tour is long, but there were no dull moments, we learned a lot and laughed a lot. The time passes quickly and there were plenty of breaks. The history of Portobelo and the ruins is amazing, the town is colorful with beautiful artwork located throughout. The people are beautiful and warm and our lunch in Portobelo was delicious. This tour also includes the Agua Clara Visitor's Center and Hector explained all facets of the the ships moving through the canal. He also showed up where the river meets the ocean, and gave us plenty of time to take it all in. We appreciated Hector's expertise so much we booked a second tour with him.

I am so glad I chose this tour to visit the Embera Tribe. Hector was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable & able to translate from Spanish to English. Hector has lived in Panama 17 years and knows the people in the community really well. There were plenty of stories shared & lots of laughs. He answered all my questions about Panama, the culture & the tribe. I learned so much! The tour I took was about 6 hours. I’m so glad he encouraged me to participate in the dance at the end. I booked over Selina Hostal in Panama City. I asked them, do we have a guide who will explain the Guns Yalla culture- yes. What do you have in mind when you think of a caribean island? The transportation to and from the ports were good. The rest was a ripoff. We dropped of a guy on a beautiful island and stopped at another beautiful one. Then we arrived at „our“ island. What a disappointment. No real beach and dirty. Then a crowed of 20 people who had come from Colombia the day before had their last night at that Island and had partyed heavily so there were no beverages except rum and freshly picked coconut. Next day we had the island for out own. They picked is up at 13:30 to bring us to another island. There we supposted to stay for 1,5h. After 30 minutes another boat with a guide from another agency arrived and took us to an island on which indigenes people live and we got a tour and some explanations. The boat trips were chaotic. It seams either the capaints do what they want or they don‘t have a plan. Never again with this agency.

I loved being immersed in this beautiful tribe! Everything was fantastic 😊 The tribe was so welcoming and our tour guide was able to translate everything for us. The food was tasty, too!

Best Journey and Best Experience Ever! Never have I ever received been treated so good by a tour agency. This tour is top notch, our tour guide was on point, so knowledgeable. El Castillo of San Lorenzo by the Atlantic sea and the Mouth of the chagres river wear breath taking.Since we booked directly with this company the customer service agent was highly professional and helpful. My family and I, had one of the best moments of our lives while on vacations, the only thing we regret is that, we did not come accross this company sooner as our previous experience with other tour agency were not so good. We ended up booking our Airport transfer with Live folks, we support small businesses, we truly recommend this company and this tour is a must.

Hector was professional and delivered wonderful customer service. We learned so much about the Panamanian culture from him. I traveled with my 2 daughters and he stayed with us the entire time and we felt 100% safe the whole time. The canopy tour was AMAZING. Ziplining beside the waterfall was something I will always remember. The drive itself over to Anton will completely take your breath away. I highly recommend giving LIVE FOLKS a try. A+ on customer service, A+ on the tour. A+ in professionalism. I will be strictly using this company as my Panama tour operator for my own clients. Great opportunity to stretch your legs and walk among the ruins. Interesting story about Capt. Morgan the pirate and how he captured the city. The tram driver was terrific, knowledgeable and user friendly.
