          Beautiful
Hiking was fun and beautiful. It was cooler in Valle de Anton than on the coast, so we had more energy for some great hikes.

Worth it !! What a beautiful beach
We wanted to get out of the city for an afternoon. This was the prefect day !! Our guide Jose was amazing and the ride wasn’t too bad. We enjoyed an afternoon on a beautiful beach. We had a cooler of drinks provided and also there is a restaurant onsite. Lots of activities are offered along the beach or do absolutely nothing at all but relax !! Thanks for a great day

          Are you not entertained?
Forget the TV Show, I saw Black Jesus, not once but twice: first time in the Catholic Church in Portobello; and the last time, there was a replica off the island of Isla Grande. If you go to Portobello without a guide, you are missing out on the GREAT historic cultural that lives in that region of Panama. From the fortress that was built to protect the town from pirates. To how this Black Jesus arrived on the shore and each year during a certain time, the locals reenact how the Spaniards tried to foot Black Jesus back on their ship. It was a struggle and they gave up. The reenactment apparently is an all day affair. Get a guide, experience the town from a cultural perspective, then enjoy the nearby beautiful islands of Isla Mamey & Isla Grande. I did the trip from Panama City twice. Next time it would be more effective to stay there and explore over a weekend, but it was all good for what we did on a whim.

          Not good at all
If you enjoy sitting on a junky boat and looking at trees rustle while a guide assures you there’s a monkey in it, then this is the tour for you! A snack is provided but be sure to bring your own meat to put in the squished up hotdog bun with packet of ketchup they provide.

          Historical...sort of
They've been restoring the fort to what it supposedly looked like originally. But in the process it's losing its character. Compared to the fortresses I'd seen in Old San Juan, it was pretty disappointing.

Great way to spend a half day
We had a great time taking our 14-year old grandson to see Fort San Lorenzo and Colon. The three of us were the only ones on the tour that day so we had our tour guide's undivided attention. Both guides (husband and wife) were very personable and knowledgeable about the area. They really enjoy the area and it shows! We had a great time at the fort, and stopping to take pictures of howler monkeys on our drive. The train ride from Colon to Panama City was nice and quiet with lovely views along the way. We were provided drinks on the mini van and snacks and drinks for the train ride. Our tour guides were waiting to welcome us back to Panama City when we got off the train and took us back to our hotel for drop off. We really enjoyed our day.

Fun and informative tour with very knowledgeable tour guides
We took the afternoon tour and very much enjoyed the tour of Fort Lorenzo, the drive and walk through Colon and the train ride back to Panama City. Stephanie and her husband picked us up at our hotel on time. They both speak English, Spanish and French so there was no problem with our multicultural tour group. They were both very friendly and knowledgeable and engaged all our questions promptly. The tour was as advertised. It is highly recommended.

          Great little island
We used the Taboga Island Express Fast Ferry to get to Taboga Island. The island is a quaint little island just a 20 minute boat ride through the Gulf of Panama. The island is NOT a resort island. It is inhabited by native Panamanians who welcome you to their beautiful little spot in the world. Everyone was friendly and courteous. The beaches are not manicured like one expects in a resort community - there is trash and stray dogs. It’s definitely a “local” experience. There are some small beach concessions that sell food and beverages. Cervezas were $1 at one of the stands. We ate lunch at a restaurant in the town - Playa Honda. The food was really good, but like elsewhere in Panama the service was super slow and not very attentive. As part of our tour with the Ferry company, we got a walking tour of the town: it was very informative. The flowers, colorful houses, street art, iguanas and bats were all fun to see. Definitely check out Taboga but don’t come expecting to experience a manicured resort community. It’s a gritty, local island filled with native islanders. It’s definitely worth the day trip!

Great Day trip with excellent guide
We chose the ocean to ocean tour with mini van out and train back. Departing at 12.30 and getting back at approx 18.30. You see the lush forests, the San Lorenzo fortress, Colon and then train back along the canal. Free drinks in the van and on the train you get a snack box. We had a really nice day with Stephanie and her husband (we’re very sorry, but we have forgotten your name) who were both excellent guides, very knowledgeable and great company. Highly recommendable. They really love Panama and made this, our first day in Panama, very special. Thank you guys!
