- Jamjam1234560 contributionsPleasant evenings entertainment. An interesting evening hosted by a ghost with a dry sense of humour. Stories brought smiles rather than terror. Meal was tasty. When booking ensure you state any dietary requirements. I wasn’t asked of any so assumed alternatives would be available for a diabetic. There wasn’t. Bus driver and hostess were very mindful of tripping hazards and made sure everyone alighted the bus safely. Take your own drinks as only water is supplied.Written 18 December 2024
- TrailBlazer7747300 contributionsMeet the localsThe progressive dinner was so much fun. The hosts were informative and entertaining as well as providing a delicious mealWritten 10 December 2024
- Wswrbb20180 contributionsThe Spirits Are AliveNorfolk Island is haunted. We are ghost hunters having been to some of the most haunted places in the world. We decided to join this tour with a small amount of our professional equipment. Boy we were not disappointed having clearly seen and communicated with three spirits. Now the tour is excellent in the meal provided and the host (dressed and acted as a departed) were terrific. Highly recommend for all to go on this.Written 22 November 2024
- Wswrbb20180 contributionsGreat start to todayThis was a fantastic experience and high recommendation to Diesel. The tour comprised grey nomads but all there concerns and needs were handled with extreme expertise. His commentary during the walk was so interesting. The breakfast cooked by two highly skilled Fijians making it a highlight. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone especially grey nomadsWritten 22 November 2024
- Wswrbb20180 contributionsWonderfully HandledFirstly I must applaud this company and all its staff. They are all beyond fantastic. We were fortunate enough to interact with a number of them. This tour is fantastic as we are given a great understanding of the island. The hotel transfers were awesome. Now the bad stuff THERE ARE NO VISITORS TO THIS FABULOUS ISLAND UNDER 55. It resembles a grey nomad escape from civilisation. Pintree were awesome how they handled them and should be applauded. Unfortunately due to the age demographic we won’t be returning. But if you’re a grey nomad I highly recommend this company and all its staff.Written 22 November 2024
- 198ruthh0 contributionsHome food with historyA fantastic night, with 3 tasty courses & hearing the life & times of descendants of Fletcher Christian. The locals open up their homes to us & are happy to share their stories with you with sometimes a bit of a slant on history.Written 21 November 2024
- sue g0 contributionsFantastic Fish FryLots of great food including some traditional dishes - the fish was lovely! Coconut tart for dessert was lovely too. Good entertainment with songs and dancing. Pretty sunset over the ocean. Some locals gave a demonstration of Norfolk Island dancing - graceful and elegant, based on Tahitian dancing.Written 20 November 2024

An interesting an informative tour thanks Brook. We did quite a few history tours during our stay so inevitably there was some overlap but also new additions to the Norfolk story. I see it as a history jigsaw and each tour expanded on the picture, reinforced what we had learnt and provided new information and insights. I would recommend including this tour, they are all different.

This tour was great! Our guide, Max, was very knowledgeable about the British settlement of 1825-1855 and told us about the history, the convicts, the gaols, the hardships the convicts endured and could probably have talked for several more hours. He knew it all from the top of his head, only referring to photos to show the tour what the gaol looked like at the time. He could answer any questions that were asked of him. He really knew his stuff! A great tour for anyone wanting to learn more about Norfolk Islands history.

Our tour started with pick up in the central area of Burnt Pine then we made our way to the cemetery, in particular the old cemetery. Max, our guide was very interesting with the information he provided about headstones and graves of some of the people. Next we went to the old gaol where Max shared more interesting facts about the gaol and showed some old photos of how the gaol would have been. Our final stop was by Emily Bay in the shade for afternoon tea. Overall Max was great at giving us a picture of what life was like for the prisoners and people of the time the goal was operating. A great tour.

We greatly enjoyed this very informative tour that was made all the better by our guide John, who as a descendent of the Pitcairn Islanders, brought a very personal touch to his commentary. The afternoon tea was delightful. We highly recommend this tour.

Great tour, with a very informative guide. Touring through the old Convict
Settlement and a visit to the cemetery where our guide spoke about some of the people/headstones. Our tour guide also had pictures to show us what the old gaol would have looked like.

this was a very interesting tour and the guy who took it was very knowledgeable on all the history of this island. it was really good to go into the depth of the working day of a convict and how they lived. the tour of the cemetery was again so interesting and everyone seemed well entertained. had our arvo tea at emily bay which was good to ask more questions and meet other people.
minor thing i would like on most tours to have the guides with microphones as some of the groups are big and you cant hear everything especially when it is windy.

Thanks for your review on our Convict Settlement Tour.
I'm so glad you had a good time. Our drivers normally use microphones on board our vehicles, but I'm assuming you mean to have a microphone while outdoors? This is a great idea, and I will certainly look into this.

Well worth doing if you want to hear the stories of the place. Makes it more alive. And you can ask questions. O ly down was the bus had to pick up from certain accommodations. We drove to the main pick up area while some had to get picked up from places hard for a bus and yet be in walking distance to the main pick up point waiting time at start and finish

John C was fabulous in sharing his local knowledge and experience. As a descendant he made it interesting and funny at the same time. His love of the island and importance of leaving a legacy shine through. Great tour providing insights of the past.

You really learn a lot about the convicts & the way they lived at the settlement at Norfolk Island. Very tough time! Also see their gravesites.

The tour was really informative, great history and the sites very well kept. Very hot day so personal protection is definitely needed as all outdoors. Would have like to have included a historical house to visit, but overall a great 3 hours. Tea/coffee/water by the beach was a nice touch.

Thank you for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed the tour. We feel the museums (houses) deserve a good amount of time spent at them, and don't want anyone to feel rushed through them, so we choose not to include them. There's so much incredible information to fit into 3 hours! I'm really glad you had a good time!
