- loracoonce0 contributionsDo it!What a great tour! We were really immersed in the culture and had great lifetime experiences on which to reflect as we grow old.Written 11 February 2025
- Lisaulis0 contributionsWhat an amazing adventure with Simoon!!Make this a priority on your Antigua “to do” list!!!! This was the most amazing and Fun adventure! The company is very easy to deal with-friendly, reliable, helpful and professional! Our guide was Fabricio and he was outstanding!! He was so patient and helped us get started on our ATVs. Since I hadn’t driven one in a decade, I was somewhat concerned, however Fabricio came through and gave me a quick and easy refresher. This young man is so very kind, and wow, does he know his Antiguan/Guatemalan history; I could listen to him all day! He took photos of us, (he even got in few when we asked), he showed us amazing places to take the most amazing photos, and made sure we were on time for the grand finale sunset. We finished off our tour with a delicious meal. Fabricio joined us and continued to share his knowledge and a little of his experiences in this beautiful country. Simoon, Gaby y Fabricio, Muchas gracias por un maravilloso día de aventuras y vistas increíbles. -Lisa y CarrieWritten 10 February 2025

- Christopher B0 contributionsA must doMy girlfriend and I had a blast on this tour. We are not sportsy/super adventurous people, so we were a little nervous about riding ATVs, but it was easy and fun! A thrill. And I thought about booking again for more ATV time! It was also a much better way to get to Cerro de la Cruz (walking would be very strenuous), and the trip to Azotea was very informative and fun. Our guide Daryl (not sure on spelling) was super friendly and gave us great recommendations for our Antigua trip (including a recommendation for Fat Cat Coffee, which my girlfriend later said is the best espresso she’s ever had!).Written 2 February 2025

- Monique6250 contributionsFun times! My friend was more than a little nervous on her ATV but she survived and thrived. We hit all the spots on the hill, sunset -good diner and. Chocatilla ( hot chocolate and tequila). Diego kept us safe but yeti kept it exciting and adventurous.Written 26 January 2025
- Sightseer1094440 contributionsOk-NiceThe tour is a standard group tour on ATVs. You do not get to open up the throttle and do some fun ATV driving; expect to drive in a single-file line on main roads. The four-wheelers are good and capable machines. The stop at Hobintanango was nice, but due to the weather conditions during my tour, it was suboptimal to see the views of the city and mountains clearly (the swing at Hobitanango was apparently free, so give it a try). The ATV staff is all very nice, and the tour is something to do in the city.Written 26 January 2025
- Corey and Lisa S0 contributionsWe had a great time with Lester. We’ve driven quads before but felt safe and educated by Lester before we left the yard.Lester was very good at sharing the history of sights and English was great. We felt we got a good tour with lots of laughs.Written 24 January 2025
- justinbk20200 contributionsFun day on 4 wheelsGreat day ripping around the towns and mountain! I learned a lot about the local life and had great views of the city and volcanos. I got some delicious locally handmade chocolate snacks for the hike! Our guide Gary was great!Written 23 January 2025
- petraAud0 contributionsHighly recommendThe trip was so much fun! I've never driven an ATV before but our guide Ethan gave us clear instructions and within just a few minutes I started to feel more comfortable. The coffee plantation was interesting but the ATV was definitely the most exciting part. I would definitely recommend this trip and this organization to other people visiting Antigua.Written 21 January 2025
- 193sudhirn0 contributionsHalf Day ATV Tour in Antigua.ATV tour gave us the opportunity to experience three sites in half a day. Highly recommend Simoon tours. We covered Cerra da vista, Alta Mira and Earth Lodge. All three were excellent experiences. Loved Earth Lodge where we able to get a feel for their Avocado farm and ate healthy food in natural surroundings overlooking the mountains and volcanos in the distance.Written 20 January 2025

Very knowledgable and an excellent camera man for our photos. Very safe company with helmets and guidance. If you are in Antigua def check this tour out. Coffee and ATVs who could ask for more! Super cool and fun adventure. I will say the terrain was a lot more challenging than I thought to drive the ATVs but overall a great experience. We got to see a lot of the different parts of Guatamala outside of the main city which was fascinating and the sandwiches were delicious. Just make sure you are ready for a little hiking to the volcano as well. Originally we booked ATVs cause my friend had a sprained ankle not knowing the hike was involved. Overall a great activity!

Out of the three FANTASTIC ATV tours I booked through Simoon, the Pacaya Volcano was my absolute favorite. From the moment I arrived at the office to check in, every worker was so friendly and welcoming. Simoon's guides are all so professional, they are easy to communicate with and understanding/flexible with each traveler's needs. My favorite part is always driving the ATVs and the guides are very good at explaining how to use them safely. I felt very comfortable zipping around the mountains/volcano despite being a beginner. It was nice too that the guides took high quality pictures of us throughout the tour and sent them to us later that day. Shout-out to Oscar, Ismael, and Pedro!
If you're looking for a thrilling and educational activity in Guatemala, you must book a Simoon Tours. It was the best part of my entire trip!
My only request is to add more t-shirt sizes to the shop (XS, S, M). I would have loved to bring home a souvenir shirt.

This was without a doubt the most amazing tour during our week in Antigua. Simoon knows how to organize a very smooth tour. I booked through Trip Advisor, they had our information ready upon check-in, handed us bags with our lunches, snacks and drinks, and we departed a little early. The tour starts with a one-hour drive to their base in a village near Pacaya. On the drive, you get to see many local villages and a glimpse of rural life in Guatemala. Once at their Pacaya base, they setup the ATVs and taught us how to use the machines. Very simple ATVs which were easy enough for beginners but with enough power to please more experienced riders. We then rode through villages and dirt roads to two different lava beds that have since dried. The first was amazing, with huge l boulders of dried lava that you could climb on. The second was fine lava sand and had to be reached with a short but exciting ride in the back of their trucks. Several breaks were possible including restroom stops, a few moments next to a lake formed in a former volcano, and even a small shop to buy cold drinks. You will do lots of ATV riding on this trip, with a few fun/challenging trails. And the views are amazing - even on a day like ours when it was cloudy. All of the guides were great and catered to the various skills of the riders. You will get dusty and dirty, and you will have a great time! Thanks to the Simoon team for a great time!

This was one of the highlights of our Guatemala trip! Such an incredible experience ATV’ing along the lava beds and having a chance to hike up to see the sights as well. The course was so much fun, slightly technical but felt safe and easy enough if you’ve ATV’d before and listen to the guide’s instructions. The guides are so patient and good vibes and everything was impeccable from the packed lunch provided and the comfortable van ride both ways. Can’t say enough positive things about this experience, highly recommend if you’re in the area

So far Simoon has been an MVP in our stay in Guatemala. We took the sunset ATV tour with Alex as our guide, and it was great, lots of fun and very informative. We had so much fun that we decided to do the volcano tour with them as well. Gio was our tour guide and he was great as well. If you can only do one of the tours I recommend the pacaya tour, it is extremely fun, with some amazing views, and you get to walk on dry lava!! We also used them for a privet shuttle to Panajachel, the driver was amazing, helped us locate our Airbnb, it was not easy.

The guides were amazing! The trip was great and we loved stopping in the local areas, especially the lake!
The lava fields were awesome and we loved getting to see the peak for a bit (the weather wasn’t the best so we didn’t go to the thermal ovens).
The drive up to Pacaya in the sand dunes was a blast, and an adrenaline rush. The views from above were incredible also.
I would definitely recommend!

DO NOT MISS THIS TOUR!! Erickson and Geraldo were amazing hosts! Wear sunscreen you will need it. We left Antigua right on time and arrived an hour later to a small town with a garage where we got our ATVs and helmets- we went to three stops. A crater lake, a lava bed from 2021 and lava dunes- hands down one of the best ATV tours we’ve ever done- I would say for first timers it might be a bit challenging but it was amazing!

The luch at the volcano is the highlight.

Wow! Absolutely the most exciting ATV tour ever. Lots of fun, but be prepared for some rough terrain. We were a group of teenagers, plus 50 year old men and women. We all managed just fine. The views were exquisite throughout the ride. A volcano hike is included and it was so entertaining to see my family members and other guests hike up. It was truly a team effort getting across the volcanic rock. Gio and David were the best tour guides. They were patient, attentive and very helpful the whole time. Needless to say, the teenagers had a blast! Do not hesitate and book this tour asap.

I did the Pacaya Tour, I had a blast! It was an amazing experience! You meet your guides at their office and then they'll take you to San Vicente Pacaya, which is a 1 hr drive from Antigua. The first stop it's at their office where they give you a demo on how to use the ATVs and do's and don't. Then you drive for 20 mins or less to the National Park, leave the ATVs there, check-in at the Park's office (the ticket fee is already included) and they give you a ride on their pick-up very close to the summit! You hike for 30-40 mins to the crater where you can rest and heat your pizza and panini on the volcano vents! Also, a full lunch is included with Gatorade, a bottle of water, snacks, pizza, panini, chocolates & marshmallows! The view from there is AMAZING! After that, you go back to the ATV's and drive to the petrified lava rivers (you'll be impressed!), the way to get there is the best part, because the road is meant for 4WD vehicles and the ATVs. Thinking that last year was over 1000 or more degrees burning everything in their path! (you'll see it in my shared pics!) You do a little hike and appreciate the volcano behind you and the sunset. And the last part of the tour is visiting the wind mills, the view is breathtaking! You can see the huge wind mills and in front of you, the Fuego and Acatenango Volcanoes! It's quite a view!!! I totally recommend it! The guides were nice and friendly, I loved the full service: the transportation, food, entrance to the park and local guide and equipment.

Hello, Does the ATV ride takes you to the summit of the volcano or not? If not, how far hiking to the summit is possible? I understand the volcano is active with safety concerns. Please
let me know.
