- cglennen0 contributionsBook this one!I loved this tour! I did a different tour and it was not nearly as good as this one. I am glad I took the chance even though there were not many reviews. I learned so much! The guide has great English (if that is important for you). He was funny, helpful, and the stories were unique.Written 2 December 2024
- kevinaC8214OI0 contributionsLuis was amazingLuis was an amazing tour guide and super knowledgeable, on top of his friendliness. My girlfriend and I learned so much thanks to Luis’s knowledge. In comparison to other tours, he does an amazing job at explaining how Spaniard and Mayan culture influenced the architecture. He also gave us an insight on local legends. Our Antigua experience was 10x better. Highly recommend. Plus we learned Mayan numbers 👍🏻Written 15 November 2024
- Connector5875930 contributionsBest tour of Antigua hands down!Luis was fantastic! This tour was so much more than what I expected. I was thinking we would have some campy fun and that walking around the city at night would be beautiful and fun. What we got was so much more Mayan history, legend, lore. He even gave us information about the Mayan language and mathematics it was so awesome. Now obviously there were plenty of spooky stories and creepy tales too. Luis was so engaging and a wonderful storyteller as well. Would 100% recommend.Written 20 August 2024
- 444casandrar0 contributionsAntigua Legends and Ghost Adventure. A must.Luis was AMAZING!! It’s the best and enjoyable tour I’ve had. What’s an additional plus was how much I learned about the historic city of Antigua. He gave a concise historical account, along with indigenous perspectives of the city laced in legends and events. He was engaging and well spoken. We did an evening tour which made the city even more magical and mysterious. I highly recommend Luis for any tour he offers, his knowledge is highly appreciated.Written 20 August 2024

- Fearless588447826800 contributionsBest tour guide of AntiguaLuis is awesome guide. He’s super funny and knows a lot about Antigua, the surroundings and the Mayan culture. He can show you the best spots in Antigua for food, partying and free salsa lessons. You have the feeling you are with a friend instead of a tour guide. That’s your sign to book him!Written 18 May 2023

Luis was a fantastic tour guide and I highly recommend taking his walking tour; his knowledge of the history, culture, and architecture of Antigua was impressive and he answered all my questions with ease. He even brought some props and pictures to accompany his stories. A+ way to start a visit to Antigua! On top of that he was very personable and had a good sense of humor. Note that my tour ended up being a private tour and lasted almost 3 hours - maybe tell Luis if you have a time constraint or walking issues. Also note that there is an option to pay an additional Q20 to enter and visit the cathedral ruins.

I had a great time as this is a highly interesting and fun tour of Antigua Guatemala with a really kind guide. I especially enjoyed getting a deeper understanding of all the historic places and symbols you find all around the city. Luis created it in a very engaging way where you don’t just walk around the beautiful streets but also get to see Guatemalan culture and try a fun little game for yourself. I highly recommend this tour if you’re looking to learn more about Antigua!

This tour with Luis was offered through the hostel I stayed in, and there were four of us with Luis. He offered some interesting insights of the history and some of the unique features of the city, he answered all of my many questions and has a great sense of humor. It was a great way to spend a few hours.

When I arrived, Luis told me that two other people had cancelled on a short-notice. Nevertheless, he still conducted the tour, which I really appreciated as I ended up getting my own private tour of the city.
Secondly, after telling Luis that I was German, what really impressed me was that in addition to speaking English and Spanish, he started speaking fluent German with me. Luis easily understood my background as a tourist, and was perfectly able to accomodate.
Thirdly, Luis really knows his ways around the city. He covers touristy and non-touristy spots, offers a lot of interesting facts and figures about many of the city's cites, answered all of my questions in detail, and all in all was a really friendly guy(de) to spend time with.
We even hung out a bit at one of the parks after the tour was over.
I booked the tour via my hostel. Feel free to ask specifically for Luis, if you are looking for a considerate, knowledgable, and easy-going guide. I highly recommend him!

Luis was an incredibly personable and great guide. We are very glad that we booked this tour because you get to know the city much better with a local guide and get many recommendations for the next few days. We could ask all questions about the city, but also about the culture and history of the country. Luis took the time to answer everything.
You can quietly dare to book the tour in German if you want. Luis speaks very good and understandable German!
