About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Nancy S0 contributionsAmazing Croatian Countryside experienceWe had a wonderful day celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary with Nicolina and her family. From start to finish the day was filled with delicious food & wine. We enjoyed helping prepare the food, making the bread & cookies & enjoyed learning about her Croatian heritage & lifestyle. Thanks to Oliver for the informative drive to & from the countryside. Oh…And the potatoes!!!Written 25 October 2024
- terrij9500 contributionsTraditional Cooking lessonsThe best part of our vacation in Croatia included cooking lessons which was located in a small Dubrovnik country side village inside a beautiful home. Our experience included; Homemade liquors, wine, snacks, bread, soup, salad, vegetables and wood fired veal. So awesome. Oliver our driver and food connoisseur was an excellent guide.Written 5 October 2024
- Noemi2016980 contributionsAmazing cooking classNicolina was amazing as she was the perfect hostess/chef from start to finish. She was very patient and thorough in showing us how to cook the dishes so we may do it as well as she did when we get home. I was just blown away that she grew and made everything from scratch. It truly was farm to table including the ice cream that she served at the end. The roast was just to die for. All the foods that we ate were just scrumptious. I highly recommend this cooking class of you visit Dubrovnik.Written 27 September 2024
- 177rogern0 contributionsWonderful EveningA wonderful experience to be part of Nicolina and her family's cooking traditions. We were greeted with welcoming drinks and noshes. But remember to pace yourself because there are scrumptious appetizers, soup, main course and dessert headed your way. We participated in peeling, cutting and baking and had wine along the way so what could be better than that. My wife and I enjoyed the whole experience immensely and highly recommend this Croatian cooking gem.Written 21 September 2024
- horgie19830 contributionsA must!Fantastic trip with a very knowledgeable guide. The fresh oysters were incredible, lunch was delicious, and the wine was lovely. A definite for wine and oyster lovers!Written 19 September 2024
- Spanishmariposa0 contributionsCroatian Cooking ClassOur hostess Nicolina was so welcoming and kind. She shared a lot of her country’s cultural information with us. Our group was small and the tour was hands on. The food was delicious and the host family were all involved in the preparation. It was a wonderful experience and a highlight of our visit to Croatia,Written 16 September 2024
- monicasB86EX0 contributionsYou HAVE to Do This While in DubrovnikThis was my favorite thing we did while in Dubrovnik! Nikolina and her family were the ultimate hosts, showing so much kindness and hospitality. Her kids also work with her and even had made beautifully crafted wood goods for purchase. You'll be blown away by how much is homemade by this family - even the wine. We tried lots of local specialities such as Rakija, met all the animals (including puppies), and picked veggies in the garden. There's not a lot of hands on cooking time, which might make the class more approachable for someone who doesn't cook much. This is because a lot of the foods prepared (soup, fire roasted meat and potatoes) required the most time to simmer and cook rather than any complex prep. You'll chop a lot, make bread, and cookies. It was such a treat to get to try peka, which is a very celebrated Croatian specialty. We made delicious cookies that will certainly be at my table this holiday season.Written 8 September 2024
- W9087ESjordane0 contributionsAmazing!!!!Amazing experience! So so fun. Not only did we get to learn how to make super yummy bread and other dishes but we got to feed and milk goats! We also got to learn about their garden and all the plants they grow their selves! Such a unique cooking class. Highly recommend and would do againWritten 1 September 2024
- 185mariyae0 contributionsMust do in Dubrovnik! If you're into learning about local cuisine, I highly recommend booking this. One of the best highlights of our trip! Nicolina and her family are all so welcoming and the best hosts. We learned so much about traditional local cooking, and got to be so hands on in this experience. We prepped veggies for the meal and got to partake in cooking them under the bell. We also had a bread making competition between two teams and got to make some wine cookies.Written 26 August 2024
- Maria K0 contributionsCooking funNot only was the food delicious, the family was also fun and friendly. Loved being able to walk the farm and pick fresh veggies and eggs for our meal.Written 18 August 2024
- Travel3780360 contributionsBest thing to do in Dubrovnik!!This tour is absolute must-do on your holiday in Dubrovnik Area! Me and my mom went together and Olivier was our Guide. He is a very profesional yet friendly and funny and his companion is enough to make this trip memorable. But! The salt area, oyster Farm and vineyards are absolutely stunning! The oysters we ate were delicious but also the whole farming proces is amazing. During the tour we had a chance not only to try all those Dalmatian delicacies but we also learned from Olivier all this details about croatian traditional cuisine. He is Perfectly prepared for the tour and all the information are available for normal, not profesional wine lovers like us. Our trip was simply amazing and I could never think of better way to spent my last day in Croatia. This tour is an absolute must-do ❤️ Highly recomended ❤️Written 18 August 2024
- M4915DTsaran0 contributionsGreat time with Nicola!Great afternoon and evening with Nicola in her home. We had a great time sampling local food and wine, picking veggies and the animals, prepping the food, making bread and cookies, and the delicious dinner! Nicola was so welcoming and patient and made the evening special.Written 3 August 2024
- JulieSondecker0 contributionsOur favorite thing we did in DubrovnikI wanted to wait a few days after this tour to review it so I could confidently say this was our favorite thing we did in Dubrovnik and it certainly was. Oliver was our guide for this tour and he was fantastic. He and his wife run Dubrovnik Food Story and have done an amazing job curating their tours. We all agreed this tour felt like we were on an episode of “No Reservations”. We got to try some fantastic Croatian wines, eat fresh oysters straight from the sea, try salt from the oldest salt flat in Europe and eat wild boar from the Pelješac Peninsula. Everyone we met along the way was extremely hospitable and made this experience feel so special. If I could give this tour 10 stars I would. If you’re considering booking this tour, do yourself a favor and don’t hesitate!Written 22 July 2024
- HappyTraveler5410 contributionsFabulous experience in a beautiful Croatian village. This was our favorite excursion of our two week trip. From the moment we entered the traditional Croatian house we were welcomed with homemade liqueur and snacks. We enjoyed a tour of their farm and then began our fabulous cooking experience. She shared her secrets for cooking, and the five course meal that we produced was fabulous along with several homemade wines. I very highly recommend this as a must do experience if you want to get a feel for the true Croatian culture.Written 2 July 2024
- KelsJack0 contributionsBest part of Dubrovnik trip!I will start by saying, this was the BEST thing we booked while staying in Dubrovnik. The family hospitality was unmatched. We got to be hands and help cook numerous dishes. We picked vegetables in the garden and dug up potatoes for the meal, we made homemade cookies and even had a bread making competition with the rest of the guests. The entire family played a role in making all of us feel welcomed, all while teaching us about the history of the home and the dishes we made. We also got to meet the family's farm animals! This was the absolute highlight of out trip, if you get the chance to book this, you HAVE to!Written 30 June 2024

Fantastic afternoon spent with Dražen and another couple indulging in the local cuisine and paired wines. We walked through the old city and visited a number of different restaurants where we had some local dishes which were all lovely. Dražen took into account my allergy and called ahead to restaurants to make sure this could be catered for. He spoke to us about some of the history of the city and we enjoyed getting to know another couple during the afternoon. It was a great way to get to know Dubrovnik and find out some recommendations for places to eat and drink for our stay. We would recommend doing it towards the start of your stay so you can take full advantage of the recommendations for restaurants and bars.

Our guide was very charismatic and friendly as he took us on a gentle walk around the city, filling us in on the history as we went. He didn’t overload us with information or bamboozle us with facts and figures which we were grateful for!
We had four food stops, the first three of which were for traditional Croatian food paired with a choice of local red or white wine. The food was really very tasty and were things we would never have found or ordered, despite this being our 10th day in Croatia. The last stop was a slice of cake and glass of rakia, which was a great way to finish the tour.
I highly recommend this tour, a lovely and relaxing way to see the city and indulge in the local food and drinks. The food portions are healthy also making the tour very good value for money.
Lastly a massive thank you for sorting out gluten free options at each stop, and catering for my coeliac requirements.

A wonderful 4 hours with a couple of friendly fellow foodies, Marija our guide was wonderful, chatty and knowledgable, informing us of the history of the dishes and of course of her home city. We visited 4 great sit down local restaurants. The food was paired with wine (if u wanted) at each, we tried everything from octopus salads, beef gnocchi, charcuterie boards, rooster roast, it all tasted great.
All in all a great afternoon and I’d highly recommend, certainly one of the best I’ve done and I’ve done a few 😎😁😁

My wife and I were actually the only ones to sign up for the tour the morning that we went. Our guide, Ana, was nonplussed and gave us a great experience. We made 4 stops, one for starters, the second at a wine shop for a mini-tasting, the third for two main courses, and the final one for pastry and ice cream. in between the stops we got a very personalized back street tour from our guide, who shared lots of insights about the city.

Our guide was the very knowledgeable Ana. She grew up in the old town of Dubrovnik and really has a passion for the history and culture of the medieval walled jewel of the Adriatic.
The tour consists of four stops, three of which are savoury with wine and the final is a gelato finisher. At each stop Ana explained the wines and the dishes, and the relevance of them to authentic local cuisine.
When moving between locations she also pointed out the best places to buy wine and food at the prices for locals not tourists which really helped us across our 8 day stay. Additionally she shared the history of the locations we passed including elements as light as GOT filming locations, to practical sites like the only school inside the walled city and the important sites and effects of the Croatian war of independence.
Recommend doing this tour on your first day, it will pay dividends for the rest of your stay.

Such a great way to tour the old town of Dubrovnik! Drazen was our guide, and he was enthusiastic about teaching us the history of this beautiful city. He has such a wide base of knowledge, and his stories were so interesting. I'd say that his lessons were the highlight of the tour, but that's not to mention how amazing the food and wine is too! From Pasticada to seafood pastas along with some delicious capon, everything we ate was memorable. This tour is a great way to explore and learn about the city of Dubrovnik, and I recommend it highly for everyone.

This is an excellent tour. Our guide was Ana, very knowledgeable about her beautiful city and the gorgeous food and wine that is available in Dubrovnik.
It took around 3.5 hours to visit 4 restaurants each serving delicious food and gorgeous wine. Croatia don’t export much wine and this aspect is a particular treat. At each stop we learnt lots about how and why the food has evolved, and walking between the stops we learnt a lot about the city - the perfect combination.
Thoroughly recommend.

Thanks to Drazen for a wonderful experience. His passion for his job is so obvious. We chose to do this tour early in our trip in the hope that it would help get a feel for the city. It definitely did that and Drazen’s historical knowledge and enthusiasm for the delicious food and wines we sampled was lovely. As non meat eaters, we were provided with fantastic options. There were 7 in our group which was perfect and we were able to ask Drazen so many questions. Such a nice guy. Highly recommend this tour. Croatian wine is deelish!!

“The Dubrovnik food and drink walking tour was a delightful way to explore the city’s culinary scene. The local dishes were delicious, and the guide shared interesting stories about the city’s history and culture. The pace was enjoyable, though a few more food stops would have made it perfect. Overall, a great mix of food, drinks, and sightseeing—highly recommended for food lovers!”

The perfect introduction to Dubrovnik and enough walking to get you bearings in Old Town. Dražen did a great job with interjecting the right amount of history of the food and the city on the tour and did a fantastic job facilitating conversation in the group to make all feel comfortable. A follow up email after the tour was sent with a list of recommendations in the area. Would highly recommend the tour your first day in the city.
