Overall I had a great experience hiking to Musala Peak solo with Kamen from Plovdiv Trips in January 2025. He picked me up near my hostel, and then we went all the way to Borovets by car to catch the ski lift up to the starting point. During the hike Kamen was good at letting me walk at my own pace, which made it way more easier for me to focus on my steps and breath. Already before the hike I felt safe around Kamen, because he gave me much relevant information on the Musala hike regarding weather conditions, equipment and so on, when we were texting via WhatsApp. He did bring hiking poles, snow shoes and gaiters. I can highly recommend to go on the Musala hike with Kamen in the winter season :)

I was staying at an Airbnb in the Old Town of Plovdiv and my tour guide did well to plan with me where to meet for pickup. The drive was fairly long and very smooth, and it passed by quickly with talk of the history and geography of the landscape and the people who live there. Some of the museums were closed but I got to see the best of them, and my guide did an amazing job at explaining everything. I really got to feel the emotions that were felt in history and how Bulgarians presently feel too. To stand on the same exact site where the first shot was fired was intense for me as it was because of how well the tour was executed. We ate at a very lovely restaurant. I can't remember exactly what my dish was called but I was amazed to see it come out and served on a hot traditional pan. If you're from Britain or any particularly rich country, your money will certainly go a long way in there, and that extends to the whole tour really. The drive back was also lovely and I was dropped back off near where I was staying, and I headed for a nearby restaurant for dinner that was recommended by my guide. Before I left the car, he mentioned all that I had missed due to them being shut so I certainly felt I had seen the best parts of it at least. I very highly recommend this tour. It's the most positive and memorable day of my whole short trip to Plovdiv, and Plovdiv was already wonderful.

Really appreciate how our guide showed us some hidden gems in a relatively short time. We were picked up from our hotel so we didn't have to rush early in the morning. While going back to Plovdiv we didn't have to care about anything while our guide was driving - we were just admiring views.

We used a private tour for our trip using the provider DMC tours. We booked the tour only the day before. They were very easy to deal with and professional. The tour to the wonderful bridges was excellent and so was Bachkovo monastery and Ansen's fortress......well worth doing. Our driver, Victor was great, very friendly and helpful....he was able to answer all our questions...I would highly recommend!

We did the first trip with Stoyan to Bachkovo/Asen, and then a second day out with Kamen to Budludzha and Shipka. We were picked up on time at out hotel and both Stoyan and Kamen were excellent guides. We spent three days in Plovdiv itself, so adding in two tours, one south of the city and the other north, gave us, we felt, a very good idea of the whole area. I would recommend both trips as we also say some of the rose fields in bloom, the Wonderful Bridges, Shipka church and the tomb of Seucies III - so a lot in 2 days. I would recommend Plovdiv Trips for their knowledge and expertise.,

Stoyan is a knowlegable & informative guide who made for an enjoyable day seeing the monastery & fortress. He also was happy to answer any questions regarding Bulgarian life & culture. He went out of his way & above & beyond to help when we had a family emergency & needed to get to the airport quickly to return home. We would highly recommend using Plivdiv Trips whilst you are in Bulgaria.

We had two tours with them, and both were lovely. They were clever, attentive, polite and knowledgeable about places. They drove carefully and respect our needs.

Fabulous tour with Kristian to this charming, virtually intact 18th and 19th c village nestled in the Sredna Gora mountains. We spent a very pleasant day meandering through the cobbled stoned streets and visiting the Revival houses. Kristian's grasp on the complex history of the town, where the fight for national independence began, was excellent. We enjoyed a delicious lunch outdoors at typical Bulgarian restaurant and the tour end with a short hike up to the Monument of Bulgarian Independence with sweeping views over the valley. Highly Recommend!

This was one of several tours I booked with Plovdiv Tours - all excellent. Stoyan is a fantastic guide, his English is great and he has a good command of the history and culture of Bulgaria. This tour is absolutely worth doing. We had a lovely authentic Bulgarian meal at a mountain hut at Wonderful Bridges before taking the hike down to the river to fully take in the immensity of these natural features. The sweeping views of the Rhodope mountains from Asen's Fortress are stunning and the Bashkovo Monastery is a jewel. Highly recommend!

Bulgaria is a wonderful place to visit and there is so much to see and do. We were taken on a day trip to remember. Kamen was an incredible guide who really goes above and beyond in all aspects. We have never experienced a more knowledgeable guide who brought so much to life and made for such a fantastic experience. First class service from start to end. We would highly recommend!

We would highly recommend using Plovdiv trips, we used them on 4 occasions having emailed them direct to arrange bespoke trips around Bulgaria including transfers. Kamen and Stoyan are friendly and very knowledgeable about Bulgaria and the places we visited. We stopped at a number of restaurants and tried the local food. Kamen and Stoyan went out of their way to ensure we had the most enjoyable experience. We would definitely use Plovdiv Trips again when visiting Bulgaria.

Knowledgeable with the history. Learned why in the past they built the walls in layers of stone, then bricks to make them more resistant to earthquakes.

Two of us arranged for a private trip to Starosel to visit the Thracian temple and to spend time at the local spa and winery. Kamen was instrumental in organizing the trip to meet our needs. He was very responsive and communicative. We traveled with Stoyan the day of our trip. He was available before our scheduled pick up time and made sure we made our appointments.
