Beautiful hike in the Carpathian mountains with our excellent guide Radu. The view was spectacular and worth the hike. Sometimes challenging, but cannot express enough how beautiful it is. Radu was patient, an expert in his field, and a joy to hike with.

This company is also known as Active holidays. Valentin was such a great guide! In a very calm way, he explained historical facts, events, personalities from Romanian history. But it was even beyond the scheduled plan trying to accommodate our interests and curiosity to the general plan. It was a fantastical experience. As a frequent traveler I can tell you, this was one of the most memorable guided tours I have taken.

The guide was careless and senseless. By his behavior we risked to be mauled by a pack of huge shepherd dogs. The only reason this didn’t happen was that a puppy and her mother had tagged along us and kept us company. Despite the fair warning of the shepherd dogs, he said to move forward ‘cause he knew what to do. The mother of the puppy was clearly unsure but followed with her puppy ‘cause she trusted us, we had fed them a few minutes earlier. The huge dogs came to us, circled us, they were about to attack us, when the puppy got scared and ran away. They pursued him instead, and killed him. After that, the guide was still giving nature the fault of this, while it was his recklessness; he was prompting me to continue the tour and go for mushrooms, showing eagles to me when I was just plain shocked, while the puppy was literally being mauled and his mother wailing. I had to insist to stop the tour and be taken home. We risked our lives, got a puppy killed despite having been fairly warned by the pack of the shepherd dogs, and he still was as cool as fresh air. The experience was shocking and this is the last time I’ll count on TripAdvisor or any other gig economy company for a tour experience. They make selection of the guides through reviews and this is completely unprofessional. All of this is true by my honor and I am ready to testify it again and again.

My girlfriend and I booked the guided hike. We had an amazing trip on the beautiful mountain, and our guide was super good company, and very experienced.

Had a great excursion to see wild bears. The trip to the bear hide was a short walk, easily managed by most people. Our small group of 10 people had plenty of room in he hide to sit and take pictures. We were very lucky and had 3 different bears stop by. Our ranger spoke English very well and was very knowledgeable. Our driver to the bear hide area also spoke English well and provided lots of info about the area. Highly recommend this tour if interested in the local wildlife.

I had a really lovely guide. She was very encouraging, supportive and patient during the hike. The scenery was beautiful overall and the views from the viewing points she encouraged me to get to were spectacular. It was a fantastic day. I would book again.

Truly an amazing experience to see such a beautiful animal so close. We saw several bears, including a cub with his mom, straight away. The guide was super knowledgeable, enthusiastic and a true professional

The most amazing experience staying at the ice hotel. Mario was just the best. We travelled with a company called Untravelled Paths. Everything was like clockwork. We ate at the ice hotel and it was on a-par with any restaurant high end restaurant. I don’t know how they keep the food hot but it was perfect. Our guide Mara a was incredible. So professional and lots of fun. The whole trip including Bucharest, Brasov, Peles Castle and Bran Castle all amazing. Food stunning and very drinkable wine I would recommend this trip as a once in a life time experience.

One day before the hike I was contacted by the guide, Radu. We checked all the details, like time and gear. Radu planned a really beautiful tour according to the weather and time. We had a great hike, nice views and made it back in time without stress. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone who wants to have a guided start into the Carpates or is looking for a challenging route.

Excellent experience, we really enjoyed the hike and our guide Radu was amazing. Very accommodating (went with our pace), showed us the best views, told us stories from the area and from his childhood. We really recommend this hike!

Went on the “Difficult” Hike with my best friend. Took just over 7 hours and totaled just over 10miles with our peak elevation at just about 6,000ft. It was the most gorgeous Hike. Two days before our guide called and confirmed our reservation and made sure we were in physical shape for the hike and went over a few different trails we could take. Our guide spoke perfect english and was amazing from start to finish. He chose the perfect route. We started in the beautiful gorges and made our way up through the forest until we hit the “cabana” where we stopped for a quick hot tea and apple cake. Then we really started our ascent up the mountain. Had to use two cables to help us climb up to the summit. The views were spectacular. Absolutely recommend for anyone in shape and ready for an absolute beautiful and breath taking hike! If I get a chance to book again with the guide we had we absolutely will. Radu was extremely knowledgeable and a joy to hike with.

Very nice and learnful tour with a friendly guide. It ook some time to see the bears so we spend about 3 hours in the cabin. Impressive to see these animals so close in there own habitat

The driver was very knowledgeable however, car was not a mini can air conditioned as stated - was drivers personal car which was ageing. Castles were good but the fortified castle was just a walk up a steep hill and then some structure covered in scaffold; not open and nothing to see. I then added paragliding, was told I’d be in the air for 10-15 minutes. Paid my deposit and gave balance to pilot after the total of 8 minute experience (which included harness, flying and landing) for a total of €91. I wasn’t happy but paid the balance knowing I agreed and it was weather dependent. A week later I am now being harassed with emails, text messages and revolut requests as pilot (who didn’t speak English) is saying he wasn’t paid. Very unprofessional behaviour. Would not recommend

Really enjoyable tour of the three castles. Our guide arrived exactly on time in a spotless, comfortable car. Very knowledgeable about the history of the region, the best photo spots and great conversationalist. All 3 castles very impressive, different and worth visiting. We arrived at the final castle to discover that my wife had left her bag (and passport 😱) sitting on a wall at the last castle. Not only did he drive straight back, he called his brother, who lived nearby, to see if he could get there before someone took it. The brother retrieved bag and passport and the trip continued like nothing happened. He didn't even ask for any additional payment for the considerable detour. Absolute gent. If he is representative of the company, would highly recommend!

We took the 3 Castles trip with Valentin, and had a great day. We are both limited in our mobility, and he was patience personified. He also was a good driver, and a fund of information about the places we visited.We would recommend him to anyone.
