The Desert Safari is a must-do in Dubai at least once. Our overall experience with Dubai Desert Ride was good. Pick-up: The operator advanced the pick-up by one hour but was late by 20 minutes 'due to traffic. ' The pick-up was also parked one block away, which was inconvenient for our family, including a senior citizen and a child. The 45-minute ride in the 4x4 was smooth. Meeting Point: this was just a catchment area of gullible travellers to sell insanely priced goods and services like quad bikes, desert buggies, snacks and beverages, photo ops etc. Do not get trapped. Desert Safari: This was the highlight and a thrilling experience. The driver Amir was very skilful and took proper care. There was a brief halt for the view and sandboard surfing. Points to note: 1. Since there was another couple also in the car we had the rear set. The visibility was limited and the photo op was poor. If you are a photographer or want a good view try to get the front seat near the driver. 2. Those prone to travel sickness or those with weak spines should take extra care. After the safari, the next halt was 'the camp". We had a 2-minute camel ride. We did not get the traditional photo op which was part of the package. We were then ushered into the camp where the camp manager gave a 'Sales talk". Basically, he was trying to upsell his Premium service. He underplayed the basic plan by citing delayed dinner, no table service, long lines etc. We did not fall into the trap. Fortunately being a weekday, the crowd was not much and we had snacks and cold drinks in time. The dinner line was also short. Surprisingly, there was enough choice of vegetarian dishes to our liking. The live shows consisted of belly dances in 2 instalments, a fire show and a Tanuara Dance. My favourite was the Tanuara dance with the whirling skirts. The drive back to the city was through Sharjah and we had a passing glimpse of the Sharjah mosque well lit at night. Overall a satisfactory experience.

THIS WAS SUCH A FUN EXPERIENCE! Our driver was Imran, he was really professional and so much fun talking to…such a good driver and he made the dune bashing so much fun! Overall everything went so smoothly and we would 100% recommend, can’t wait to do it again ;)

Well...it is mixed feelings here, it is the only way you can reach the desert in a very affordable way, you get the dune safari, decent dinner, 2 minute camel ride... But, on the other hand and it is typical for arab countries, you feel a little overwhelmed by the people that want always to sell you something, and you need to learn to say no. Overall the experience is good, the guide was polite and they picked us from the hotel wich is a good thing. It is at the boundaries of being a turist trap but not quite, i told you...mixed feelings here.

Awesome experience with this package! I was reluctant to quad bikes but I find a unique pleasure in chasing my daughters !! Mr. Shahab was a very experienced in red dune safari and his professional manner really impressed us.

Very good experience! Our guide and driver Gauhar Ali was really nice and professional, and a very good driver! We where 2 adults and 2 young children, and it was safe!

An amazing experience and one not to missed while in Dubai. Our driver Shahab was very friendly and also a very good driver. We took our 3 years old daughter and was a bit worried about the bumpy ride but Shabah made sure she had more fun than we did. THANK YOU

We went to Desert Safari with family and booked with Al Basara. Driver Ibrar was more interested in chatting and mingling with other four or five drivers as they were all friends. Not a lot of information he provided during the day. I saw all other 5 car driver in our group were the same. They were not disrespectful though. All cars were good. Sand Boarding was an absolute rush job and gave us only few seconds. Dinner camp at Al Awir tried to charge all guest additional AED50 for priority treatment which should not be the case as there was no clarity when we booked. Food was 6 out of 10. First stop at the quad bike place was absolute rip off. They charged AED100 for face scarf which is easily available for AED10 - AED20 in the city. We will surely book with someone else next time.

Had a nice time. Malik was a great guide and a driver. We were taken good care of. The experience itself was pretty touristy. The dune bashing and the shows were fun.

Imran was fantastic today! Very punctual and clear either way his instructions. Well worth it if you can find a few hours in your day to explore the Dubai desert. Would do it again and highly recommended.
