Stop: 3 hours - Admission included
Our expert local guide and driver who are both from this village will show you the Kompong Phluk rivers and the town itself, as the water levels in the great lake can vary from half meter to over 10 meters ,so can the actual village and rivers do the same,as such the village of Kompong Phluk is built on stilts some 12 meters high,to allow for the constant seasonal variation of the water. together with the flooded forest makes this a very unique and interesting village to explore,we will dock along side the Monks Training school, and inspection of the large Pergola is certainly a highlight with its extensive and beautiful art work on its walls and ceiling, with schools, homes, shops, boat builders, fishing net repairs, its certainly a great village to explore, after which we will proceed to the magical and quite flooded forests, also passing a few floating homes on our way there, all in all a great way to spend a few hours away from the Temples and enter a place time seems to have forgotten.

Our family had a fantastic experience on this tour and were so well looked after by Vanna and Leng.
Vanna’s English is exceptional as is his knowledge and passion for the country. He was warm, friendly and very excited to be running tours again after being impacted by COVID-19.
We were picked up on time in air conditioned comfort. Loved stopping at the rural market which is one of the best markets I’ve been to, very clean and great range of products.
Boating through the village was simply fascinating. We also had the opportunity to get out and walk through, interacting with local kids.
The crocodile farm was an unexpected surprise and good fun!
I feel this tour gave us so much more insight into life in Cambodia and our trip was definitely enriched.
If you’re on the fence about travelling, jump on a plane and support Cambodia! Now is perfect with minimal tourists :)

We booked the tour with Khiri Travel. The price includes an air conditioned car, driver and an English speaking guide. Our guide Tom, was probably the best guide we’ve had in many years of travel. The tour was fascinating. Tom went out of his way to ensure that we had the opportunity to get close to real life in the village. He took great care to point out interesting activities. He took time to explain what was happening and why- he could not have done more !
Our driver Mr Jung was also a star- he drove with care and consideration and kept us safe and comfortable

It is quite a ride going here, road is bumby, then you'll take a boat to go to the village.
The place and the culture are quite unique, though.

I love the small boat ride later in the tour, where we toured around a forest with monkeys. Then the sunset (the afternoon half day tour is much better).

This tour was not like any of our other trips in Cambodia, Pick from our hotel was on time and the day ran smoothly. It was useful to have all transports, tickets and guides included in one. Our guide showed us around the market which he was local to and therefore could give us a better insight into the local life and cultures.

An excellent tour of a local market, and walk through the stilted houses in Kompong Phluk. Less tourists and a good authentic experience into how the locals live. The boat trip and stop at the floating restaurant for a beer was also good.

We were picked up from our Tour Guide „Vanna“ at our hotel in time. First stop was a traditional market what was very interesting to see. Afterwards we visited the floating village Kampong Phluk and Tonle Sap lake. It was a stunning experience and our Guide „Vanna“ was very friendly and he gave us a lot of interesting infos.

Very experienced knowledgeable, friendly, who understands the religion, culture, life style with passion. And, extremely cautious careful driver channel. I did not expect much since it's very dry. However, it's beautiful in its own. We get to witness how people live, 50 kids/1 teacher racial, yet, most diligent, polite kids. They did not bother tourist as other places. Boat ride to the lake was OK. But, it's the true picture of their life. Good trip

San was our most excellent guide and Channa our gentle driver. This trip exposed us to a very unique community in Cambodia. San is super knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Cambodia. He is friendly, enthusiastic; a great conversationalist. If you have more than one day in Siem Reap, do consider having Green Era and San to take you for this trip.

It was an interesting day going there in a tuk-tuk and seeing the countryside houses. The floating village also was nice to see with its people fishing, diving, playing as if they don't really care about the tourists passing by. On the lake itself, you can see how they turned this area into a touristic spot with a floating restaurant. We took a small boat with an extremely charming lady who rowed us through the mangroves. Calm and peaceful, we enjoyed the moment. However the main boat owner wanted us to visit some captive crocodiles... that was sad to see... we asked to get back to land.

saw some countryside on way to the lake village. The lakeside village was on stilts except temple and government offices. we had time in a school doing English lessons. Surprised how well the children could speak to us.
Then went on a canoe trip through the flooded forrest. Met a canoe selling tourist things!!
Then on to a jetty with some drinks available, and a few crocodiles to see. They looked well fed but rather sad. Larger boats went to and from the jetty into the lake which stretched over the horizon.
