The whole thing has hand and foot, we were picked up at the hotel on time by a friendly TukTuk driver.
When we arrived, the cooking teacher (that's what she calls herself)Sorya greeted us already with a friendly smile. it was said that we were a maximum of 6 people in the group, in fact we were 23 people. that did not harm the quality of the event.
After everyone arrived, Sorya told us the process described.
Afterwards, les went with several tuktuk to the market 5 minutes away where mainly the locals shop, which brought a good insight into the habits of the locals.
At the market, the cooking teacher told us a lot about the spices, the fish and the other things that are available to buy.
Impressive and worth seeing for us Europeans:-).
After that, the tuktuk returned and the cooking began.
Each of the participants had initially chosen one of 4 dishes (starter, side dish, main course and dessert).
This was then prepared one after the other on a separate hob under the guidance of Sorya and her helpers.
After about 45 minutes we could all eat our home-cooked menu together.
Subsequently, we received the recipes of the different dishes, which makes it possible or easier to prepare Asian cuisine at home.
Sorya always had a laugh on her face, certainly not only because of the amount of people, but simply because she enjoyed it and always gladly helped and answered questions.
We can highly recommend Sorya and the Cooking Class.
It was a round thing that was great fun.
Keep it up and thank you

This was a truly enjoyable experience. The Tuk Tuk driver arrived on time with 3 other people in board already. We had an enjoyable trip as far as the market where we got to know them better.
On arriving we were greeted by our host who gave us a detail tour of the market, where in fact we didn't buy any produce to cook, thank goodness as they were lots of flies around! After Sorya had explained all the different, fruits and vegetables got back into the Tuk Tuks to go to her 'grandmother's house' the cooking school. Once there she told us about the plants and trees they were growing there.
We than sat down and were given a bottle of cold mineral water.
Each one was given a menu card to choose the dishes they were going to prepare. 1 starter, 2
mains and 1 dessert each.
If you have allergies or intolerances tell them at booking and remind them when they give you the ingredients .
We both throughly enjoyed this class. What's more, our first try at Cambodian cooking was not only successful but delicious.
She accepts you on her what's app group then forwards the recipes on to you.
We have ours and will practise our new skill on our roof terrace in Spain.
Thank you Soyra for sharing your knowledge with us!
We will definitely recommend you to others.

This cooking class was a great mix of learning about the local market / what kinds of flavors and ingredients are used in Cambodian cooking and getting a chance to make and try some classic dishes. Because both the market tour and the class itself are actually in a smaller village area outside of the city, I really felt like this was an opportunity to actually get a taste (figuratively and literally) of Cambodian life. While sometimes experiences in Siem Reap can feel very touristy, this class felt very grounded in all the best ways. The ingredients were fresh, as I saw many of them picked from the garden right in the very place you are taking the class, and the food that you make was really tasty and incredibly filling. You make four dishes and get some rice on the side so I recommend coming hungry. I had the beef salad, fish Amok, vegetable curry, and banana coconut pudding made from tapioca. Every dish was very very tasty. The staff was also kind and happy to answer any of my questions about either the market or the cooking. I highly highly recommend this experience for anyone looking to get a little more cultural emersion out of their visit to Cambodia.

We had a fantastic time doing the cooking class and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this experience. Everything was meticulously organised and great attention given to hygiene, which we really appreciated. The short trip to the local market and garden tour were both really informative. We chose four different dishes each to make and there was so much food we sadly couldn’t manage to eat it all! I still have no idea how our chef managed to instruct four different people making four different dishes at the same time but she did with ease and professionalism. Our teen boys were engaged the whole time, which is an achievement in itself. This is great value for money and a big thank you to Sorya and co for such a fabulous experience of traditional Khmer cooking. We look forward to trying the recipes at home.

Highly recommend this for anyone looking to learn about the food of Cambodia, while creating an incredible meal and sharing several hours of fun cooking.
We had such an incredible time at the Khmer cooking class, and we will be posting a video of the food in our guides on @international.cusine on Instagram if you'd like to get an up close view of the food.
We walked around the markets (although the ingredients were already at the kitchen). They did a phenomenal job coordinating 10 people around different dishes and fully accommodated our eating preferences/allergies. We met some lovely people as well.
Absolute 5 star experience.

This was the best! Sorya, our teacher and guide, spoke excellent english, she was fun, happy and easy to talk to. First we took a quick tour in a small local food market, which was very interesting. Sorya explained in detail about the vegetables, meat and fish they use in Khmer cooking. After this we went for the cooking class itself. We got to choose 4 dishes each, so there was plenty of food. Most of the prepwork was done by Sorya and her assistant and we just got to cook. The kitchen was very clean and we washed all the vegetables before cooking. Everything tasted veeeeery good!!! I would highly recommend this cooking class to anyone intrested of food and cooking, very professional! And on top of all this they picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel! Could not have asked for more!

What an amazing experience! From the moment we were picked up at our stay everything felt well arranged and relaxed. Our first stop was the local market, where King Kong passionately told us about local vegetables and how everything is made. His enthusiasm was really contagious!
Then we went to the kitchen, where we got to choose four dishes to make. Under the cozy guidance of Sivorn – who was not only super sweet and friendly, but also a great teacher – we started working. She made cooking fun and accessible, and we really enjoyed the whole process.
The food was insanely delicious in the end, and the fact that they have their own garden here with fresh vegetables and herbs made it complete. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a fun and educational cooking experience in a cozy atmosphere! Also, they're all very grateful that you're coming here. Thanks for this great experience!

We’ve just had a brilliant experience with the Khmer cooking class. From being collected by Tuk Tuk to cooking and eating amazing dishes and visiting a local market to learn more about local life this 3 hour tour was brilliant.
Our guide, Somya (Sunshine ) was friendly, knowledgable and a great teacher. There were 8 dishes to choose and we cooked and ate 4 each and were given the recipes so that we can recreate at home.
Would recommend this to anyone who likes to try different things on holiday

I recently attended a Cambodian cookery afternoon, and it was both fun and interesting. The hands-on experience allowed me to explore the unique flavors of Cambodian cuisine, and the engaging atmosphere made the entire event enjoyable. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to broaden their culinary skills while having a great time. Sorya played a pivotal role in making the Cambodian cookery afternoon a fantastic experience.

This experience was great fun! With the class limited to 6 people we got plenty of personal attention. Sorya and her team were very welcoming and the food we made was delicious. We had 4 courses with multiple choices available in each course. Even my husband who is not a cook had fun and turned out some delicious dishes. The class started with a trip to a local market-that was a whole experience on its own! We highly recommend this experience to anyone regardless of your cooking prowess!

Hello, deciding if to do this class at 12.30 or 15.30. .. any advice on which time is best?
Written 16 November 2024
There might be more things to see at the market if you go earlier, but it probably doesn’t matter. Other than that, I can’t think of any difference it would make between the earlier or later classes

Hi, this is Panha from Siem Reap. I will have two customers who want to do a cooking class on 29 October 2024. They plan to make this cooking in the evening after the temple tour. Is it possible? If so what is the price and how many options? I am looking forward to hearing back from you. Panha
Written 15 September 2024
Yes, definitely! They were good about asking what people's restrictions were while we were out shopping and double checked while cooking. Also, you could send them a message in advance to give them a heads up.

Hi,
We're two vegetarians and would like to attend the class. Would this be suitable for us?
Thank you.

I think you could coordinate that with the class instructors. They asked if I had any food allergies. Most of what I made was vegetarian, just by chance.
