          Incredible Humberstone Tour!
I recently visited Humberstone on an amazing half-day tour, and could not have been happier! Billy was an exceptional guide, and a fountain of knowledge. He shared so much information that I would have never known had I tried to visit on my own. Both his father and grandfather lived/worked at Humberstone during its days in operation, so he knows intimate details about the place. Humberstone is amazing, and much larger than I anticipated. The drive across the desert from Iquique is breathtaking, and Billy is an exceptionally safe driver. I cannot say enough great things about the tour! If you visit Iquique, you MUST take this tour. You will not be disappointed! Thank you Billy for the highlight of my trip to Chile!

Fantastic Atacama fat biking + tour
I wanted to do a few things based from Iquique. Billy put together a specific two-day itinerary including a trip to Humberstone, fat-biking, hot springs and the geoglyphs. It made for an amazing trip. Zooming down the dunes with the fat bikes is not to be missed! Billy has an encyclopaedic knowledge, and was able to offer insight into everything we saw, from church architecture to nitrate processing, from salt mining to the geology of the area. He was totally reliable, and always had a Plan B (and C, and D). So when we found the Geoglyphs Park unexpectedly closed, he immediately took us to a nearby point where we were able to view them through the telescope he had in the back of the van(!). If I got the chance to come back to Northern Chile, I would book to spend more time with Billy in a heartbeat - you should too!

Wildlife Photo Safari Pacific-Andes tour from Iquique
We booked the Wildlife Photo Safari Pacific-Andes tour from Iquique, a unique experience and probably the best way to learn about nature and culture of the Andes region around Iquique in a short time. Billy is extremely knowledgeable about the region and let no question unanswered (and we asked many!). Not only spotting a great variety of wildlife but also the overnight stay with an Aymara family at 4000 masl, listening to the songs and tales of Don Eugenio, and learning about their life and traditions, will remain unforgotten.

          Well organised trip!
I do travel a lot for my job and as I’m usually short on time, I tend to go for a private guiding. As a photographer I have some specific needs and Billy attended to them very well, even helped me with finalising some special permissions. We have spent a few days together without any issue, going from San Pedro de Atacama to Iquique via Chacabuco. I had a very exact idea what I want/need to see and Billy managed to fit everything in there plus even helped me with getting to the local football match in Iquique. Honestly, even if you were looking for something very specific - a tailored tour, scheduled precisely to your wishes and needs, Mistico Outdoors is a smart choice. I have a feeling it was not the last time dealing with Billy. It was a blast.

Arica to Iquique with Billy & a lot of plan B's & C's
We had a very nice week with Billy travelling from Arica to Iqique through the Andes. As we had very bad weather we could not do all the planned activities but Billy always had a plan B and if this was not possible he had a plan C and C.2 and C.3... So we had a fantastic journey although we had to skip some points of our plans but saw things we never would have thought of. Perfect Giude! And we had a lot of guides in the last 20 years all over the world...

Great family experience... you have to do it.
We were 4 people, my wife, my 2 kids (14 and 13) and I, we live in Viña Del Mar, Chile, and spent christmas week in Iquique... and this activity was the main reason to travel to for the Hollidays, and was one of the best outdoor experiences that we had. It is an activity that can be done by the whole family, I'd say with no restrictions at all, if you can ride a bike, you can do it. Billy is an excellent guide, we enjoined the company and the conversation.Yo don't need to bring your cell or camera... Billy takes care of that. Downhill mountain biking It is also an activity to do with friends or colleagues, I'm thinking to do it again as a team-building activity with my job colleagues. I was surprised to hear that very few chilean people takes this kind of tours, please don't miss the opportunity to do it. In summary... it was unbelievable, you can't miss this.

Superb 4 days hi Altiplano atacama
I went with Billy from Mistico on a 4 day hi Altiplano trip in the Atacama desert. Billy is a real pro and was very knowledgeable about everything south American. The trip was perfectly planned and was a real insight into Altiplano life. Billy kept in regular e mail contact before the trip. Initially I booked just by myself, but 3 weeks before the trip Billy had found other travelers to join the trip which reduced my costs a lot. ( Billy checked this was ok with me) I would recommend Mistico and Billy, it really was a great trip. I saw so many things, beautiful sights and wild animals. Billy is a great guy and very passionate about his trips and sustainability. Thanks very much for a wonderful experience.

          Impressive
Yesterday we went on a fat biking tour with Billy and Joanna. It was really impressive. Great feeling going downhill over the sand dunes in the Atacama dessert. Sun going down created a magnificent atmosphere. Billy and Joanna had prepared the trip very well, being in time they picked us up at our appartment in Iquique. On our way to and back from the dessert we came to know much more about the Chilean nature, history, people, society and politics than we would have ever known when just visiting Chili as regular tourists. We won’t ever forget this tour. Thanks a lot for your hospitality and introduction into Chili!

Inspiring, authentic, contemplative stroll in northern Chile
We have just returned from a two-week trip starting in Arica and ending in San Pedro de Atacama (Off the beaten path Atacama Desert overland expedition). It is hard to find suitable words to describe the amazing landscapes with gorgeous volcanoes, unique flora and fauna and kind indigenous people (especially Aymara). We decided for this tour, since we are nature enthusiasts, and Billy Morales (our tour guide and an owner of Mistico Outdoors) delivered all that we hoped for. We have seen practically all the typical (but elusive) animals of Andes - poker of camelids (llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and guanacos), condors, flamingos, taruca, viscacha, and many more. Also from botanical and geological view, the trip exceeded our expectations. We also got a personal insight into the lives of locals and many more unforgettable moments, which one must experience by himself. Throughout the trip Billy was very attentive (including to special dietary requirements), meticulous and reliable, nothing was too much trouble for him. The best part of his trips was his flexibility - he tailored the trip according to our wishes and capabilities (one of us is a person with reduced mobility). We are sure, we will remain friends with Billy, and would not hesitate to take another trip with him. We recommend Mistico Outdoors and Billy without reservation.

Billy Morales as private guide from San Pedro de Atacama
Billy helped us with a four day visit starting with picking us up at the Calama airport. He is friendly, reliable, responsible, knowledgeable, prompt and honest. He knew great places to see, helped with all our questions and gave a good recommendation for dinner. And it was fairly priced. There were times he didn't speak loud enough, and we might have chosen an upgraded hotel, but Billy got the key things right and we had a great experience.

          Fantastic four day Altiplano Tour
Very well organized four-day Altiplano Tour starting in Iquique and ending in Arica. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Billy Morales, who at all times demonstrated a profound knowledge of people, country and the indigenous Aymara culture. One of the many highlights of this tour was meeting the Aymara couple Eugenio and Gertrudis in Chulluncane who provided us with first insights into what it takes to live in an altitude of some 4.000 m raising Lamas and Alpacas – watch out for Eugenio’s singing Lamas in the morning! Billy’s insights about the development of this breathtaking mountain area including fauna and flora were equally impressive - watch out for the Yaretta tree and enjoy a bath in the Salal de Surire in 4.200m altitude. Billy was definitely our favorite tour guide and we can absolutely recommend Mistico Outdoors to anybody who wants to have a great outdoor experience in the North of Chile. Muchissimas gracias, saludos y hasta siempre Billy! Michael & Regina, Munich-Germany

          Unique and unforgettable trip
We had an excellent trip with Billy and Joanna! 5 unforgettable days of pure nature, interesting culture and lots of knowledge! Everything was very well organized and any question could be answered by the very nice guides. One of my highlights where the two nights which we spent together with the Aymara family where we lernt lots about their way of life and there culture. But also the amazing landscapes we passed by, are unforgettable. I highly recommend Mistico Outdoors as you will not regret any minute of the trip! Come and get to know the less know northern region of Chile!

Exceptional tour company, offering unique experiences.
Just returned from a fantastic 10 day tour with Billy Morales from Mistico Outdoors (Chile Responsible Adventure). Service was outstanding from start to finish. We wanted to visit the Atacama desert but were struggling to find something different. There were lots of tours around San Pedro but all very similar. We felt if we were going to visit the Atacama then we’d like to try and get off the beaten track and do it without the crowds. We saw Mistico Outdoors and were really impressed by the range of unique tours plus they seemed to be the only company offering the opportunity to stay with the local Aymara people. Billy was amazing and helped us put together a tailored off the beaten track tour, going through several versions until we got something that suited us. He provided excellent advice before the trip on what to bring and expect. Extremely professional from start to finish. Billy promised off the beaten track and he truly delivered. We didn’t see another tourist for 7 days and on some days we didn’t see another car. The scenery was stunning and Billy was always ready to stop for photos, and we stopped for a lot. The accommodation in that part of the world is basic but everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The food was lovely everywhere we went. We felt safe through out the trip and so well looked after. It was also nice to see Billy’s commitment to supporting local people and businesses, he is obviously well respected and has built some great relationships, there was a warm welcome where ever we went. Our stay with an Aymara shepherd and his family was absolutely amazing and something we will never forget. I didn’t want to leave, they were so welcoming. The boutique desert lodge at the end was stunning and could easily compete with some top end camps in Africa. One of the places we were due to visit was shut. Billy went above and beyond, suggesting an alternative itinerary for the day, even though it involved a 3-4 hour round trip for him instead of the planned 30 min drive. We don’t normally book tours. preferring to do things on our own. This would have been impossible in this area. However, we enjoyed this trip so much and are so glad we did it. We loved every minute of it. We enjoyed Billy’s company tremendously, he gave us plenty of space to go off an explore whist still on hand with a wealth of information. He knew the area like the back of his hand and found some truly amazing and unique spots that we would never have found on our own. I would definitely book again if I was in the area.

          Great tour
We had a fantastic one day tour around the Iquique region. Joanna was insightful, friendly, and above all enthusiastic! We got to see all the places we wanted to visit, and Joanna always had interesting and knowledgeable explanations and relevant history to share while showing us around. Would definitely recommend a tour with Mistico!

My mom (77) and I started our day with the sole purpose of seeing the Atacama Giant. After seeing that Billy customized our tour to show us the Pintados geoglyphs and the oasis at Pica. Along the way we learned about Chile (and the neighbouring countries), tamarugo trees, the Atacama salt flat, and the journeys of the Andean people from the mountains to the sea. All the while we got to spend the day with Billy, who is wonderful to hang out with. Thanks for making our day perfect!

Wow what an amazing site. The history behind the geoglyphs is very interesting. It seems as this is out in the middle of nowhere but you really get a feel for the country. Plenty of parking and bring some water.

Thanks for your comments, although they seem misplaced as this is to review the tour service and not the destination. Anyway, we agree that Pintados and Humberstone are very interesting sites to visit. Best.
