About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- mattlindyhatch0 contributionsLifetime experience! This was such a great excursion! The weather had canceled the trips the day before so we were so lucky to be able to go. They spent time on the boat ride over giving us lots of information about the penguins and their nests. What a cool lifetime experience!Written 14 January 2025
- K5915ZGmarys0 contributionsI would go again with Pablo, the tour guide, but would never go again with the same driver.Pablo was a great guide, he was knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting information. He was trying to guide using 3 different languages so he was very busy going from group to group to repeat details. He did a great job at this except on the bus as he was at the front and we were at the back. The late breakfast was fantastic. Nicely set out on a table with a mountain view. Fresh scrambled eggs and coffee were prepared as well as breads, jams, fruit, meat and cheese. It was really great. The biggest downfall of this trip was the driver. He was driving way too fast for the (washboard) road conditions and we did not feel like he was always in control. We have him clocked at doing 87MPH. I said to another in the group that on the way out I felt like there were a few times that all 4 tires were off the ground, and their response was "I think you are right". On the return trip at one point the big travel van actually slid around a corner towards the huge cliff. Everyone gasped. I don't stress easy in a vehicle but I definitely felt unsafe with this driver.Written 12 January 2025
- W1905BXmartinp0 contributionsCaptain Fernando was awesomeThe boat was comfortable with a good guide. We had beautiful weather but the boat is ready for days that aren’t as nice if you run into them. The island is literally packed with penguins and birds making for endless amazing photo opportunities. Once back onboard they offer coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cookies. No, it isn’t gourmet by any means but still is nice. After this, a quick trip over to see a large colony of sea lions to take photos before the trip home. I wanted to specifically shout out captain Fernando. He gave my daughter a penguin stuffed animal and let her and me take photos driving the boat which was amazing. He was incredibly kind and went above and beyond for us. We are very grateful.Written 6 January 2025
- JORGEARTUROC0 contributionsWordh itIt was worth it , the ship was in good conditions, I expected to be able to reach and walk in the glaciar but since it has reatreated we couldn´t get that cloese but the experience was good and the food in lunch was goodWritten 5 January 2025
- Adventure686391907040 contributionsA hike to rememberIt was a wonderful hike to a beautiful place. María Jesús, our guide, was very knowledgeable, engaging and kind and made 39,000 steps fly by! Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting TdP.Written 22 December 2024
- Matt R0 contributionsInteresting places to visit, but wasn't the best tour... we were left wanting more.We enjoyed our tour through the old city in Valparaíso, and felt our guide did a good job of setting pace while still showing us striking views, interesting historical buildings, and telling us about the town's history. When it came to the Viňa del Mar portion of the day, however, we felt very short-changed. We had lunch at a nice restaurant, and then made one stop near the beach and one more to see one of the Easter Island statues in town. Nothing else. We had expectations, based on the tour description, of seeing lots of gardens, parks, etc. We did not, which was disappointing. In general, we learned a few things, enjoyed our newly-met travel companions, but the tour, especially after lunch, felt rushed and without plan.Written 6 December 2024
- Lily J0 contributionsAmazing experience with this company! Highly recommend our guides and this hike to anyone.Ricardo & Hugo were the best guides we could have asked for! They were knowledgeable, kind, adaptive for everyone in the group and really helped us see a glimpse into Chilean culture. They set a great pace that was manageable for all parties and checked in on everyone physically many times throughout the hike. Would HIGHLY recommend people to use this company & even request Ricardo and Hugo. The excursion was appropriately priced, there was good communication before pickup, and our guides had great energy. Such a fun day!Written 16 November 2024
- Escape483732490260 contributionsWorth every pennyIt was a pleasant experience all around with my family. There was enough time on the island with the penguins, and you got to see them up close. They even crossed the path in front of you!Written 12 November 2024
- K9633YOelizabethg0 contributionsGood trip.Nice trip. Beautiful glaciers and we got to see Andean Condors. The guide was difficult to hear over the intercoms and on the walk to the glacier base. Overall, it was worthwhileWritten 12 November 2024
- PSCAustin0 contributionsConfiscations of Purchases after Security CheckDeparting Santiago Chile SCL airport was highly disagreeable. Aside from having our passport and boarding pass checked five separate times, we underwent a confiscation never experienced in years of worldwide travel. After passing through security, we stopped by the large store Britt Chile to spend our remaining Chilean pesos. We purchased 2 Pisco Capel Sour 14% 700 cc bottles and went to the gate for our Latam/Delta flight to LAX. After our boarding passes were scanned, we proceeded down the jet bridge where Latam employees made each passenger open their carry-ons. At that point, they confiscated the two bottles I had purchased just a half hour earlier, claiming US regulations required all bottles to be in a sealed bag with a receipt. I showed the receipt from the just purchased items, to no avail. Other passengers had their water and soft drinks confiscated. The confiscated items were filling up a shelf on the walkway. Latam and SCL airport management are delinquent in (a) allowing vendors to sell liquids after security clearance, (b) failing to provide sealed bags for all liquids (c) using poor judgment in penalizing passengers for not posting a sign after security "If traveling internationally, DO NOT BUY ANY LIQUIDS." Until resolved, this experience should put Latam and the SCL Airport on all travelers’ Do Not Fly list.Written 3 November 2024
- 131annerw0 contributionsBest day everThis was an absolutely wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it. The weather was cold and windy but we were warm on the boat and the sun warmed us on our walk to the lighthouse. The penguins were so over the top cute. We only saw the males because of the season but they were precious. The tour company was great - it was an easy meet-up and the guide spoke Spanish and English. Everyone was friendly and wanted you to have the best time. Oh! And the sea lion colony was a sight to see too! Definitely book this experience.Written 15 October 2024
- Eugia M0 contributionsWine Lover’s DreamThe tour guide, Rene, was affable and knowledgeable about the history of Chile and the native people. Between visits to wineries, we especially enjoyed the trip to the museum, which is a treasure the larger population may miss because of its location 3 hours south of the largest city, Santiago. The wineries were magnificent in their ambience and character, while the tastings were enough to justify Chile’s position as a tour de force in winemaking!Written 3 July 2024
- Global7582040 contributionsMoai and so much moreThis was a very special experience. The moai were powerful and the opportunities to see and experience the culture were exceptional. The Kari Kari dance troupe was NOT a gentle hula. It was an athletic, artistic performance that was presented with a genuine warmth. In every way we felt welcomed to this island and left feeling enriched. The museum has a well presented collection that was a great place to start as we began our time on Rapa Nui. It provided valuable information and context for the people and culture on the island.Written 3 March 2024
- uncvcutraveller0 contributionsOkay experienceI went with a group for the tour. The second stop was the tastings. The wines were good but the ones I like require to store for 11 to 15 years. We also did not try the best wines that included the diablo portion. I did like the origins of the diablo. This should have occurred before doing wine tasting.Written 22 February 2024
- Dave L0 contributionsBest tour ever.Collected at the hotel by nelson our guide. Great English speaker and a native of the island. Very knowledgeable and very passionate about the beautiful island of rapa nui and it's culture. Had an amazing dinner which is included in the price and ended the day on the beautiful anakena beachWritten 14 February 2024

Really Really long day. 90 minutes in a crowded van, no air, stuffed in the back seat, followed by 20 minutes on boat followed by another 90minutes in the overstuffed van to get to the penguin colony . you spend 30-45 minutes there. The lunch restuarant reservations gets canceled, and by now we have sat in the van until 4pm with no lunch. We get stuck in the dock for 2 hours with no sign of loading ship, and we finally make it over to the continent, and by now it is 530- 6pm with no lunch and they stop by a ship wreck to show to make it seem like the day was not as bad!.

Our guide Luis was very attentive and helpful. He was very knowledgeable about local history and we really enjoyed seeing the penguins. Lunch was good.
Prepare yourself for a long day as the ferry does not come back until late so you do stop at many places which sometimes felt like one stop too many.
I would definitely recommend this trip.

This was an amazing trip. Luis was a wonderful guide. Prior to the tour, the company communicates hotel pick up. The morning of, Luis calls or sends a WhatsApp message, informing you the bus is on the way. They were prompt. Luis provided all explanations in English and Spanish. The lunch was lovely and the penguin colony was fantastic. Surely not to be missed. I also enjoyed our other stops to see guanacos, thr native peoples, the ship wreck and learning about Patagonia ownership history and much more. Don't hesitate to take this trip. Its a long day but it definitely didn't feel long. Oh and bring snacks. There are opportunities to purchase along the way. But have some just in case you're extra hungry.

We went for three day extra trip to Punta arenas from Santiago Chile but when we got there, the winds were too high and the government wouldn’t allow ships to leave so our 12 hour tour to go see the Penguins was canceled. They’re supposed to refund my account, but it was just a bummer because there’s not much else to do in the little town and we wasted the airfare to get there and the hotel that we stayed in. The hotel we stayed is actually really nice and there was a casino at this other hotel. We went and saw a museum and walked the town but I don’t think I would’ve spent all that money just to do those few things when seeing the Penguins was actually the highlight of why we came.

An excellent day out made even better by Luis, an awesome guide who explains everything in both English and Spanish. Very knowledgeable about the history of the area which is interesting and makes the long van rides more bearable. Expect a long day of upto 14 hours. You spend about 45 minutes with the penguins. You will need a good camera to take photos otherwise just enjoy the time with these amazing animals.

Excellent guide, Luis, who gave us a lot of interesting information and was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We also had time for a visit to the museum telling the story of the first settlement at Tierra del Fuego and the genocide of the Selk Nam people.
