Long ride, which could be better spent.
Long ride to get to the fort. It was rebuilt, so not original. Didn’t feel it was worth going. Cemetery was interesting and the replica ships were worth seeing. Guide was fine and got understanding of the area

          Maritime Adventure
We arrived on a cruise ship and traveled with young children and elderly. Christian was very attentive to our needs and explained well the local culture. We visited military fort and maritime museum which were highlights for our kids. We also loved the Patagonia snacks that were provided with our tour. Overall a wonderful time in Punta Arenas. Highly recommend this tour!

          Kidwell tour (12.28.2024)
The tour we took with Gerardo P Jaque (gerardo@amigospatagonia.com) was one of the most informative and fun tours we’ve taken.  The historical details were not just facts - but discussed and informed with an energy and communication knowledge we have not seen in a tour guide. We learned much more than we ever expected and had a fabulous tour that was very personal and so much fun ❤️

          An amazing visit!
Juan was the most amazing guide. He is a wealth of knowledge, delivering it in a way that shows he is a master at delivery of such information. He weaves his stories with the history of Chile.

Torres Del Paine & Milodon Tour with Gerardo & Philippe
Both places were amazing and a must visit for travellers. What made this trip really special was our tour guide Gerardo. Gerardo proactive reached out to us to find out our preferences, specially of dietery preferences. All members of our group are vegetarians and him taking interest in this was excellent. We also had a situation with us missing the flight to Punta Arenas and Gerardo readily was working with me for rescheduling the tour with me. Luckily, we were able to catch a later flight and reach Punta Arenas at 2:00 AM on the day of our trip. Gerardo was once again accommodated our request for a delayed start of the tour so that all of us can get some rest. While Gerardo was explaining all aspects of the tour, Philippe was driving the van extremely well give the not so good road conditions (as to be expected in such remote places). Gerardo is educated in the USA with 2 degrees but his passion for Chile brought him back and it showed in his enthusiasm while explaining key aspects of our tour. He is also very versed with the history of Chile and our group learned a lot about Chile and neighbouring countries (Argentina, Peru & Bolivia). Gerardo also surprised us with a fantastic vegetarian lunch in the middle of nowhere in Torres del Paine. The lunch was a simple vegetarian lunch but very tasty. His timing was impeccable as we reached and covered every point on time. Thanks Gerardo and Philippe for making our tour wonderful and memorable.

          Nice tour and great experience
We set out from the hotel at 6:30 and returned at 12:30 in the middle of the night. Thank you for the hard work of the driver and the tour guide! Thank you for making our trip less tiring😓 Almost all of us were lying down and sleeping on the way back and forth. The driver drove very steadily, and the driver and the tour guide did not rest or doze off at all during the whole trip.

Fabulous experience with Gerardo as our tour guide. Very knowledgeable and fluent in English. 5 Star Service.
Wow!!! What an amazing experience with Gerardo being our tour guide!!!! We are from Canada and didn’t know Spanish. But he made us feel at home from the time he welcomed us at hotel and dropped us back. He was attentive in all aspects. Well educated and speaks English very well at the same time well connected to the locals. He is very knowledgeable and has answers to all questions. At the same time, he gives us our space and is not on our face all the time. He went beyond normal to help us. For example, I had left my jacket behind in a coffee shop about 3 hours away from our hotel during a guided private tour with Gerardo and Philippe. The entire experience of the delivery of the jacket to the hotel was memorable. Philippe personally delivered the jacket next day before our departure from the hotel. Their timing is perfect. The extra effort and time taken by Gerardo to make sure I received within 24 hours to be able to take it back with me made me feel how tourists are treated with so much of care and personal attention. Gerardo was truly exceptional not only as a guide but made sure of all details from arranging vegetarian lunch giving special cookies and telling us many stories and our entire group of 8 had a blast. Highly recommend Gerardo and Philippe. My rating is 10 out of 10. I will hire his services as the tour guide anytime. Kalai S. Kalaichelvan Chairman and CEO EION Wireless Ottawa, ON CANADA

          Stunning all around!
I have done many tours all over the world, and this is probably the best one I've ever had. The sights of Torres del Paine are incredible, and the history of the area and the geology was so well explained by our guide! It really made the entire trip so much more enjoyable! My friends and I had so much fun asking any and all questions and enjoying the beautiful scenery. I cannot recommend this trip highly enough!

Deep, fun dive into Punta Arenas's past and present
We went on an all-day tour of Punta Arenas, Fort Bulno, the replicas of the four sailing ships notable to the area, and the cemetery. We also slowed down to watch the dolphins in the Magellan strait. And had delicious empanadas in a local restaurant we would not have found on our own. Gerardo was a superb guide accompanied by Cesar, who drove competently and gracefully. Gerardo kept us engaged with the history, and the economic, environmental and cultural aspects of Southern Chile. We compared the histories of the US and Chile on their treatment of native Americans and current events. It was a full day; one we will remember fondly for years to come. We highly recommend touring with Gerardo.

Absolute Best Tour in Punta Arenas and Patagonia!
Yesterday was our best tour of this cruise and maybe our last cruises too. We saw everything listed and more. Geraldo is an amazing tour guide who never stopped sharing information, knowledge, stories, etc. We loved visiting the Punta Arenas area, but primarily the tour was great because of his passion for sharing his wonderful city. His driver (I am sorry I do not know his name) contributed to a wonderful day with his relaxed, careful driving and attentiveness to each of us as well. We not only spent the day, almost all day, viewing the Strait of Magellan but learning the history of it as well. We learned about Magellan, Charles Darwin, Shakleton and others who were part of the history of the area. We learned about Chile, Antarctica, and even enjoyed a lunch at a very local restaurant that served homemade empanadas on the strait of Magellan (very simple.) We went to the Nao Victoria Museum an outside museum where there are hand built replicas to scale of several boats used in the Patagonia and Antarctica explorations. We could climb in them, on them, explore them and learn all about them. The entire day was unique and wonderful. When you finish the day, you will know as I did that there was no one else on the cruise ship who has seen, done or learned what you had a chance to do with Amigos Patagonia. I was surprised that more people have not found this gem of tours in Punta Arenas. But I am so glad we did! I would highly recommend Amigos Patagonia and any tour they offer. Reach out and they will can work with you on what you need if you are in the area!

          Perfect day in Punta Arenas.
This was an excellent tour. I would recommend this tour. From our pickup from the port to our return to the ship, it was a day full of fun and great photos. Our guide was Valentina. Her English was fantastic. Knowledge and enthusiasm for the places we visited made the tour very enjoyable. Our driver Cesar had a wealth knowledge about the wildlife and was an excellent spotter of them. This included dolphins and flamingos. This tour covered it all from national park, museums, cemetery, city, great photo opportunities, local food and wine. Valentina and Cesar provided us a wonderful day full of fun and memories of our visit Punta Arenas.

          6 stars!
Cannot recommend this experience highly enough, both for the landscape and our guide. Juan doesn’t deliver a scripted lecture like some tours, but rather a free flowing conversation filled with the history, geology, ecology and culture of the Magallanes region that adapted and customized to our interests and itinerary. My only regret is only scheduling a single day to visit Torres del Paine, and already planning a future trip back to Patagonia.

          Terrific Tour
Gerardo, our guide, did an excellent job sharing the history of the area along with interesting anecdotes as we visited many sites in the area. The bus was very comfortable which made a big difference since the tour was lengthy and we weren’t squeezed in like we were on our excursions.

History, fun and food with Amigos Patagonia
Gerardo’s passion for his city made us all see the area through his eyes. He made sure we fully experienced all of the beautiful and historical aspects of Fort Bulnes, Nao Victoria and the lovely cemetery- all were full of history and the character of the people who first entered this remote part of Chile. Gerardo is able to relate the information in perfect English and the vehicle was comfortable for all 12 guests. The delicious empanada, wine and chocolate shop stops were an added bonus. Amigos Patagonia is well-named as it was a memorable day with a new friend!

What they “failed” to market themselves is that the tour guides are very skilled and familiar with the area including wile lives, and in a private tour they manage the pace to tailor to the need of guests. We spend quite some time searching, observing and photographing a fox family, that alone well justified for a trip as I am hobby photographer, and rest of hiking was pure bonus (for me).

The Pali Aike park is less touristic than Torres del Pain, that gives unique opportunity to be “alone” with the animals and in the crater hike.

Christian and Raul braved the winds with us for a full-day Pali Aike adventure. They were knowledgeable and made the trip an incredible experience! Great way to get off the beaten path and explore a lesser-traversed region of Patagonia. Would highly recommend!
