We had a great time on our private tour during our flight connection in Xiamen. We were picked up and dropped off at the airport. We got to see the many highlights the city has to offer. Most of the tour is by foot, so be ready to do a lot of walking. We walked close to 30K steps that day. I recommend you let the tour guy in advance of any special requests or places you’d like to see. The cost is a bit pricey for Asian standards but worth it given the limited amount of time we had and the options available. I would recommend this to friends whenever they have a long flight connection in Xiamen.

The round & triangular tulou are a must visit in Nanjing County which are World Cultural Heritage. Amazing how villagers of centuries ago could build such well protected homes from mud and woods. We managed to go up to level one just to see where the rooms & stores are located. A little too commercial, many stalls sell souvenirs and very crowded.

Really great experience, guide was friendly and very educational. Island and garden were beautiful and it was very helpful to have a guide take care of the logistics. One note, the website allows you to select tours starting later in the day but I was encouraged to start the tour in the early afternoon (14.00) as the garden closes at 18.00. Fortunately everything worked out for my visit (we left my hotel at 15.00) and I felt like I had enough time but may not be sufficient for everyone if you start the tour later. Also note that there is a lot of walking on this tour.

I had a 15 hour layover in Xiamen I wanted to venture out, but was nervous about going by myself. This was a great experience and I am glad I was able to experience a little bit of the city's culture while I was there.

This was a lovely experience! It started with excellent communication in the days before we arrived to finalize plans. The guide, Cathy, met us in our hotel lobby and we were taken to the ferry terminal in a very comfortable van. From there the experience on Gulangyu was very customized to the needs of our family. Would recommend booking as soon as you make plans as they do need to organize ferry tickets. Highly recommend Cathy and Sunny Tours!
