- D7932XFanniep0 contributions10/10 biking, hiking & coffee tourThe three day tour with Arvey and Elizabeth was a highlight of our trip to Colombia. Arvey and Elizabeth are the BEST. They are warm, knowledgeable hosts and create a unique, enriching experience that allowed us to learn more about the area and do fun, physical activities. They thought of everything! 10/10 would recommend to visitors looking for adventure with a local flare in Colombia’s coffee country.Written 18 April 2022
- lejazz120 contributionsBEST Colombian Experience!Arvey the host is just amazing. Friendly, nice and funny. What makes this trip so unique is the 3 different modes of transportation you will probably never have experienced before! Including Brujita, Garrucha and Willy Jeep. Also, Arvey makes it so safe with a support van following you. Even though the bike ride is not technical, if at any moment you are tired you can easily get in the van! This was by far the most authentic, unique and adventurous trip we had in Colombia BY FAR!Written 7 January 2020

- marath0nia0 contributionsBest MTB Tour we ever had....What a fantastic day ! We fully enjoyed the whole programme and all the highlights we had. My son (12 years) had as much fun as I did and we will never forget this day. Everything, from pick-up at the hotel to lunch, explanations about the country and the people, return transport was perfectly organized and very informative and entertaining. We say thank you ! A hundred times ! An unforgettable day for us.Written 22 August 2019
- Allison Z0 contributionsBeware of the weather and activity is overpricedWe had an amazing 10 day vacation in Colombia and this was the most expensive activity/accommodation on our itinerary which was not a budget one. For two days (4 people) of touring and one night in the farmhouse, we spent nearly $1600 when a night at the Sofitel Santa Clara in Cartagena was $350 per room and a night at the Charlee in Medellin was $150 per room. Once we saw the price of food and other tours in the country, we realized how much we overpaid for an activity that had some good parts and some low parts. For starters, we were not informed until the last minute that Arvey was off biking with another client and we had a bunch of different guides and drivers, all of whom ended up being knowledgable and lovely, but it was not the personal experience of geting to know a couple that everyone else described. On Day 1, we went to a nature reserve that had a beautiful waterfall but was a second rate attraction in Colombia as there were no animals to see. We had Christian as a guide who is an enthusiastic young botanist and did manage to interest my 13 year old son in the plants and flowers. Then we went to the farmhouse where Elisabeth was lovely and really passionate about the coffee process and gave us a great tour of all of the crops that they're growing. Be forewarned that the farmhouse is miles from everywhere. Unfortunately for us, the electricity went out in a storm and there was absolutely nothing to do. The accommodations were fine (although no power meant cold showers) but they were not the Santa Clara for the price we paid. It continued to storm all night and we couldn't bike but did take the Jeep Willys to Estacion Pereira and traipsed through the mud to go on the other modes of transport. All in all, it felt like lots of money and driving for activities that didn't quite work out as expected or desired.Written 27 March 2019
- Chris1011110 contributions9 Day Coffee Immersion Tour.Unfortunately I cannot give this a 10 star rating because that what it deserves. I stayed on Elizabeth and Arvey’s farm, accommodation in a newly renovated farmhouse with separate room with en-suite, meals to dream of, fresh juices and produce from their farm including their own fresh coffee. Transport in many Willy’s, great experience, cycles top rate and serviced well, cycling scenery magnificent, very informative visit to Arvey’s cousins coffee and fruit farm. Accommodation through the tour 5 star, food, I am a vegetarian, and was made feel special by the efforts to provide me with delicious foods. The information provided by Arvey on culture, flora, fauna and on Columbia itself was not only interesting but made the tour special. It’s had cycling with hard hills but you always have a vehicle if needed, do some training prior and it’s easier. It’s not only the cycling but visiting rainforests, hot natural springs, riding on all different types of transport and the love that both Elizabeth and Arvey have for their guests and their country. The photos of the birds are at their farm in a 15 meter range. I have no hesitation in recommending any tour with Retro Ciclas you will enjoy the experience and leave with a new experience in life.Written 26 March 2019
- Phil J0 contributionsAuthentic Colombian HospitalityWe did a 3 day tour with Arvey and had a fabulous time. We stayed at a small family owned coffee farm, where we had a great tour around and learnt all about the coffee farming and processing of the bean. We ate delicious food whether it was home cooked or out at the restaurants. We enjoyed all the activities with highlights being waterfall swimming and some very unique modes of transportation. Avrey's passion for his country and respect for the environment are admirable. Thanks ArveyWritten 13 March 2019
- Andrew W0 contributionsExcellent custom day tripAvrey worked with us to customize a day trip so we could have a wonderful activity before flying back home. The timing was perfect, and we enjoyed the ride in the nature preserve and lunch. Avrey was able to help spot monkeys for us which was quite a treat.Written 4 March 2019
- tebehem0 contributionsA fabulous experience in the coffee regionThe brand new traditional house is in the middle of a coffee plantation near the town of Pereira. Arvey the plantation owner picks you and your luggage up with his authentic Willis Jeep. Elizabeth, his wife welcomes you with lovely homemade fruit juices. From now on you live the life of a coffee plantation. Everything is home made and delicious. The house is simple but comfortable and the hosts do everything to make your stay enjoyable. They have their own travel agency (retro ciclas ) but we had no interest for cycling so they organize trips to get to know coffee and the region for other sorts of tourists. The days in different plantations , villages and sites ( I recommend the trip along the river on the railway and across the river) are wonderful and far from the beaten tracks. The people, the visits, the organization are just perfect to discover the area. WiFi and Hilton hotels fanatics please go elsewhere. This coffee farm is really different and here you get an idea of the real local life. We were a group of 5 friends and thoroughly enjoyed our stay and ours hosts. Probably our best experience in a 4 week trip through Colombia.Written 1 March 2019
- bollybabe20090 contributionsMountain bikingGreat day. The Guide was great and his English was very good. My friend had not been on a bike for years and he really looked after her. The day was run at our pace. We chose when to stop. We rode the brujitas and went across the river in a basket. Had lunch by the river and then walked up to a waterfall where it was so peaceful and the water in the pools was very cooling. Would highly recommend this trip.Written 5 January 2019
- Josue C0 contributionsGreat service and amazing views!!!I had one of the best experiences here!! The tour guide was truly exceptional in service. The food that we ate for lunch was absolutely delicious. If you go to Colombia this is a must do activity!!Written 1 June 2018
- lucienjamey0 contributionsRich experience with great people, authentic, super funOur stay in Colombia was short so we wanted a way to experience the countryside, the people, and have someone articulate and knowledgeable to tell us about the place. This activity totally matched that and surpassed our expectations. Arbej is a wonderful guide, very professional and energetic yet relaxed and fun. He is university-educated, speaks English well, has a good sense of humor, tells interesting stories, and takes good care of guests, adapting to their style based on needs. The hosts Herman and Carmen-Helena at the Mount Jazmin farm are the keepers of a multi-generational tradition of artisan coffee (delicious by the way). They work in social care in Pereira and dedicate their free time to hosting guests on their well-tended and beautiful farm. The accommodations are rustic but functional and well laid out. Traditional local meals were lovingly cooked and served on the patio for guests. Bring a flashlight for the paths. The biking in the area was just right for us, good quality of equipment and well -maintained.Written 26 April 2018
- Heribert U0 contributionsAwesome bike adventure tourWe had today an awesome bike tour, easy ride with lot’s of nature experiences. Our guide was great! We started with the Willy pick up at our Hotel in Pereira followed by the bike ride, and the awesome special railway transportation and crossing of the river, ended by a bath at a water fall at the end of a river valley .... AWESOME!!! We will never forget it!!!Written 7 April 2018
- farnhamian0 contributionsOutstanding in every wayFour of us had a superb day with Arvey: on the Willys, biking down to the river, the brujita and garrucha, lunch at his farm and seeing all that he is doing there. He is a brilliant guide and companion; he deserves all the praise these reviews lavish on him. A memorable excursion: highly recommended.Written 11 January 2018
- Julie G0 contributionsWonderful time in the Coffee AreaThank you Arvey and Daniel for two wonderful days in the Coffee Area of Colombia! We did not go for the biking tour but instead went for the easier tour in Jeep Willys. From the coffee finca de Don Herman to the Brujita through Arvey’s own farm, we had a wonderful time discovering the area, its past, its present and what it could become with more people as passoniated as them.Written 5 January 2018

Must do private tour of a small coffee farm. Close enough to Pereira but secluded enough to be authentic. The most striking thing is that you can see and feel the love of the owners for what they do, and the passion they put into their work. I learn all there is to know about coffee I think in this one tour.

The TripAdvisor coffee tour out of Pereira with Arvey and Elizabeth was honestly our most favorite experience in our entire trip in Columbia. You REALLY should do this tour, it’s an unforgettable experience! They are the most hospitable, amicable, and humorous couple/guides. Ex-office workers turned farmers, super down-to-earth people, truly wonderful people to enjoy the day and land with. Their farm was like a Willy Wonka for nature/vegetation lovers! As amateur home-gardeners we were so impressed, enamored, and educated.
The coffee experience was SO thorough and hands-on. Cannot stress it enough, you will be IMMERSED in the highest quality coffee production and consumption.
However, it is SO MUCH MORE than coffee! You will learn all about vegetation, the beautiful Country, cuddle with their super cool farm animals, and enjoy philosophizing the day away ;) We were chatting and having so much fun, time flew.. 6 hours later the sun was down and we didn’t want to leave! Haha.
I hope one day they will be open to volunteers staying some days to help around the farm and fall in love all over again. *P.S. not made with AI

Hola! El recorrido total de 3 horas es a pie? Es muy difícil el terreno? Me preocupa porque iría mi padre que es mayor y no puede estar en pie demasiado tiempo y me preocuparía saber eso. Saludos!
