because it is a place that has a tropical forest that gives us the experience of observing birds of different species, as well as reptiles and amazing landscapes where the veins of the earth accompany it. Water !, streams and rivers, also a variety of medicinal plants. the perfect tour to not be too far and on time from the flight or the bus. when we arrived at these natural pools we could only be on the shore and not be able to enter to bathe. because a few meters down is located the collection of water for the paths and nearby hotels, crystal water that can be taken and on the shore enjoy the delicious traditional lunch !!! ..

      Such a Rewarding Trip
Where to start…… Juan David is an excellent guide. Friendly, knowledgeable and extremely polite. His knowledge is excellent, answering all of our questions. We have wanted to visit the Kogui since reading about them and this trip was an amazing opportunity to meet them, see their village, gain a better understanding of their culture and life. It really was an honour to step into their village and Juan David’s respectful relationship with them was central to that. They totally trust him which opened so many doors and also we were really assured that what we were doing was respectful to them and their culture. We not only saw the village and met the village leader, but he provided insights into local plants and their health benefits, provided cultural insights and we felt extremely safe and in very very good hands! We got to crush sugar cane, taste the fruit and veg they grow and just absorb a magical few hours soaking up an amazing culture. The horse ride and motorbike trail up to the village just added more adventure! Fantastic! As was the food! Thanks you Juan David. We cannot wait to explore this incredible land with you more. We cannot recommend this trip highly enough.

Beautiful horse ride and beach swim through Tayrona
It was a very beautiful experience. The views are amazing and the guide is very warming and uplifting. You don't need any experience riding a horse, just relax and let him take you. The guide told us about some of the indegenous history which was very insightful. On the way back we ate some fresh mango from the tree and were lucky enough to see some small monkeys in the trees! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for an adventure.

      Dreams Do Come True!
Wow! Horseback on the beach and in the river at Los Naranjos in Parque Tayrona! The horses were well trained, knew their job and helped keep everyone safe and happy. The staff were kind, knowledgable and friendly. Great experience!

      Wild Wild Fun
Wow! Juan David & Elda were excellent guides for a wonderful experience. I’ve never ridden a horse before but they made me feel extremely comfortable, helped guide my horse when he was feeling timid or anxious, and by the end of the tour helped me feel as confident as someone who’s been riding for years. While on horseback I felt like I was in Red Dead Redemption or The Hateful 8 or something like that. Beautiful cinematic views, crossing rivers, trekking through jungle, and arriving on the beach was a fun adventure. In addition Juan David made everything fun & helped everyone feel relaxed with his passionate and friendly energy. 11/10 experience, I’d recommend this for anyone who is looking for a fun way to get to know Tayrona park.

      Fabulous and unique horse ride
We had a lovely ride on horses Maria and Santiago from Los Naranjos beach following the Rio Piedra to the bridge and back. It was great fun wading through the water and going into the forest. It’s is a unique experience. Our guide was called Elda who was very informative and clearly loves the horses and takes great care of them treating them like family! At the very end we had a short canter along the beach which was a great end to a delightful day out. Definitely to be recommended.

      Nice & interesting full-day hike
That was a long hike in the jungle and in the heat (well, when you get to the beaches, the previous doesn’t sound hot anymore 😅)! The visit of the pueblito Taiku (kogui village) was really interesting, to learn about the community traditions and how they use plants. I saw koguis on TV a few years ago and their philosophy about the environment / Mother Nature and how we should protect it really appealed to me, so that’s why I was interested in meeting them. However I regret the lack of motivation of the « team ». The accompanier (Juan David was away on that day) and the kogui guide didn’t show much motivation and were hardly interacting if I didn’t ask questions. It sometimes felt as if I was hiking on my own. For this price and this kind of tour, I’d have expected more interaction.

      A Transformative Connection!
Voy a dejar mi opinión en ingles por los otros turisticos estadounidenses-- Juan David is the absolute best! He has a clear appreciation and passion for the bounty of the natural world and the nobility of the Kogui way of live. He is full of vitality, sensitivity and warmth, going above and beyond to give our family an amazing experience-- scaling a cliff to fetch a rare type of mango in one instance, gathering medicinal herbs at night for my sick brother in another. He found ways to weave cultural and historical knowledge into personal stories in ways that really made the country feel real, vital and alive. Above all, Juan David has a true love for people, nature, and life. This has helped him forge true relationships with the Kogui, and their wisdom and grace had a profound impact on my family. I cannot recommend this trip, and Juan David as a guide, enough.

Very nice morning horseback adventure on the Piedras river
We had a great time going on this horse riding trip for about 1.5 hours. Our guide was a friend of Juan David, Galina, very nice guy who takes very good care of his horses. Started on the playa de Los Naranjos, and go up the Piedras river and into the forest and then come back to the see. When we took a short break on the river, Galina took the horses equipment off so they can rest and eat some good grass. All in all a very nice short morning horseback adventure. Muchas gracias Juan David and Galina, Theodore and Gabrielle,

      Unforgettable experience ✨
One of the best experiences of my life, definitely a must do in Santa Marta. A beautiful view all ride long with an amazing and super friendly tour guide. I went with one friend and we were the only ones in the tour making it a super private and amazing ride! After horse riding for an hour we arrived at an amazing beach where we relaxed for 2 hours. Amazing outstanding views, thank you for the experience definitely one we will never forget 😊

Wild West meets Columbia on Horseback
Unbelievable experience! You will ride saddle deep in water in the river, so be prepared with a backpack. Riding on the beach was great but this is a lot of riding thru the river mainly and jungle with a break to swim in the river with locals. We learned about indigenous plants with medicinal qualities for antibiotics and for fending off mosquitos. We saw lots of birds and even the mico titi monkey. Our guide was very skilled and took fabulous photos and video, just give him your phone. Amazing!
