Very interesting tour covering a few historic places in Santa Marta. Camilo Mateus was our tour leader, and this guy was really really amazing.

I did the private Tayrona hike and beach tour with Alexis. This gentlemen was fun, energetic, knowledgeable and kept a good pace for my dad and I. Alexis knew all the perfect spots for a good photo opportunity. He shared the perfect about of information, enough to gain some knowledge while still allowing pauses so that we could enjoy the view and sounds of nature. Also a big thank you to our driver Juan Camilo who patiently waited for us during our 5.5 hour trek. These two were the perfect duo. I would highly recommend this tour.

Andres was an excellent tour guide and was so knowledgeable about the history of Santa Marta. He was also very easy going and fun to spend the day with. We first walked around the historic Old Town. He first walked us thru the gold museum explaining the importance of gold to the region. We then went to the Cathedral, the City Square and he even showed us the oldest Hostel in the city. We then drove to the suburbs to visit the Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, which was the house of the hacienda that was lent to Simon Bolivar in 1830. He was the liberator of Columbia and several other South American countries. He spent his final days there and passed away there. The house and grounds are a memorial to him and the area was beautiful. All in all it was a great trip and I highly recommend this tour and Andres!

Excellent History tour of Santa Marta, Simon Bolivar, Banana Massacre, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Bastidas and more! Rosa was so well informed and her love and dedication to her country was very apparent. The trip to San Alejandrino was great as well. See the Hacienda where S. Bolivar stayed and died, the Altar of Freedom. This country’s indigenous past, fight for independence and turmoils since was eye opening and gave me a great affection for Colombia and her people. Highly recommend as this tour will be most memorable and educational.

The tour is as very well organised and our guide was very knowledgeable and professional. Rosa explained a lot of history and customs that we found really interesting.

Alexis was a wonderful and kind guide. We appreciated his knowledge of the area, history and trail system. His ability to speak English and Spanish was inclusive for our family so we all learned interesting information from him. The hike and the beaches are beautiful and definitely worth doing. We were happy to have Alexis to navigate the ticket entrance, best view points, refreshing coconut water and a delicious lunch spot. Muchas gracias por todo!

The guide was very knowledgeable and explain in detail everything. She was able to manage a bilingual group and provided information to everyone.

Our tour guide José and driver Heison were absolutely wonderful. Although we didn’t see any exotic animals, José was very transparent throughout the whole tour and took us on a less-traveled path that had basically NO people which was INCREDIBLE! The beaches he took us to were pristine, beautiful, and not touristy at all. He was a fantastic tour guide and we had a blast. He also has a great relationship with the indigenous people who own the land and that was nice to witness. I HIGHLY recommend this tour and José as your guide! Great personality, beautiful English, and a wonderful tour guide.

We were lucky to have Jose twice as our guide, first on the Tayrona tour and second on our Santa Marta tour. He was excellent at both, his English is very, very good (much better than our Spanish). His advanced knowledge of the area, the local flora and fauna, and compassion for the indigenous peoples of the area was palpable and appreciated greatly. 10/10 and we would definitely recommend our friends request Jose directly when looking for a tour guide in the area.
