We were recommended to King Safari for a day out in the Sinai desert. My Fiance is a Nature photographer and was very much looking forward to visiting this colorful canyon.
I didnt realize we were going to visit 2 canyons, and it was a bit of a climb, specially for the older lady that joined us on this trip but our guide was very helpful. We had la simple lunch with the locals, which was an amazing experience. The women and children showed us their traditional artcrafts, which they sell for a couple of dollars!. My nieces were thrilled with their bracelets!
It was a great experience, and we have wonderful photos to show for it!
Thank you Mr Bob, for taking good care of us!

Dahab is the best place to chill and relax, but we also wanted to see the desert, Next to Sababa restaurant ( where we hang out) there was this small travel agency King Safari. We got talking to the owner Bob and he totally sold us the trip to hike a canyon!! ;-) ;-) .
We had so much fun! They picked up at our Airbnb in the morning. It was a bumpy ride into the desert but I wouldn't have missed it for the world! A great way to spend the day with friends. Luckily it was not too active if you hear what im saying as we were all bit hungover.
The guide (Bob 2 ;-))) was an absolute superstar! I laughed so hard. And we made some amazing pictures that will for sure look amazing on the wall in my office in the States. I will never forget this trip! Thank you King Safari. We had a trip to remember

Did 2 excursions with KinggSafari
Went with my mum and sister to the Coloured Canyon. The start was a bit messy. Our hotel is next to the travel agency but we left with a delay, coz our travel companions that had to be picked up by another hotel were not ready on time. Apparently, this happens a lot, so be warned ;-). The excursion was a bit more physical than expected for my mum, but our guide Mo was an absolute gentleman about it and took her under his wing!
We decided to book a Bedouin Dinner in the Mountains with 10 people and that was just awesome! We parked at a place in the mountains, overseeing the valley of Dahab.. Food existed of Fresh Bedouin bread, BBQ chicken & kofta.. and always nice.No plastic plates. .. plus we could bring our own wine and beer. The perfect last night in Dahab (for now).

This is the second excursion we booked with King Safari. First, we went on a private tour and this is a scheduled group tour.
We had a really nice group and a perfect day out. Both the canyons require a little bit of scrambling but nothing too hard for me and my girlfriend (we are quite unfit ;-) )
I for one truely fell in love with the Sinai Desert and the Bedouins and am looking forward to my next trip with King Safari.. Thank you Bob and Joseph for taking us under your wings. We would have never had the courage to do these things without your guidance!

I really wanted to go to the deserty, but they said in the summer it was not such a good idea. Luckily! Some "cool" days in August, so we went anyway. And it was amaaaazing. Yes, it was hot, but hey, thats one of the features of a desert, innit?
The canyons are an extraordinary enviroment to take some stunning pictures. The lunch in the little bedouin village was very tasty and it was great to have the opportunity to meet the locals.

The start was a bit messy as we had to wait for the car, but we had a wonderful time. It is so great driving into the desert and just walking about. So many photo opportunities, just overwhelming!
As said, I will come back, and then I want to do the multiple day trip they offer.... It must be amazing to sleep in the desert, but bit too cold for me now ;=)

We recently booked a day trip from Dahab to Petra with King Safari. Excellent service from King Safari. Great thing was that their touts outside the store didn't hassle you as you walked past. They offered the best price (currently $230 each) and all the arrangements regarding visas and hotel collection, transfers etc. went to plan. Minibus used for collection was clean, with a/c and a safe driver. King Safari were also one of the few companies we checked out which allowed you to pay with credit cards.
If you do want to do the day trip to Petra from Dahab however, be warned that the companies in Dahab have very little influence over the day apart from your actual collection and drop off at your hotel. Once collected from your hotel, you'll be dropped off to join a coach which is coming from Sharm with other tourists. It's a 5am start and you reach the port of Taba (where more tourists join you from Taba Heights) around 8am, leaving by boat at 8.30am. When you arrive in Jordan, the entire group from the ferry are divided into different language groups and then take different coaches. It's about a 2.5 hour drive to Petra and the coach also makes a rest stop and then a stop for lunch close to Petra. Given that Jordan is 1 hour ahead of Dahab time, you won't actually start the tour around Petra until about 2.30 / 3pm.
Our guide showed us around Petra (along with the rest of the coach) but you are also free to wonder around yourself. It is an amazing site but obviously full of tourists and all the tacky market stalls selling tourist trinkets. I was quite grateful to be visiting now as there are relatively few tourists in the area following the political unrest in the region but still the site was quite busy. Whilst the organisation of the tour from the Jordan side was good, excellent coach, good food, enough rest stops etc, unfortunately our guide was not very good. He told us a little bit of information about Jordan & Petra but spent the rest of the time using the microphone on the coach to tell jokes (sometimes very insensitive) about the situation in Libya at the moment and the recent tragedy in Japan.
We arrived back in Dahab at about 11pm - a very long day but worth the effort.
Whilst Petra is worth seeing, obviously with a one day tour of this nature and the distances involved travelling either from Sharm or Dahab, you expect to be hearded around quite a lot and to spend much of the day on a coach and with that comes the risk of getting a guide who likes the sound of his own voice and tries to be a comedian. If you go expecting that, then you won't be disappointed. If you want a really factual tour of Petra with indepth insight into the history and archeaology of the site, you really need to visit for longer. This however is not a criticism of King Safari as I do not think they have any influence over the guides used in Jordan.
King Safari also helped us to be prepared for the visit by warning us to take warm clothing which thankfully we did. Temperatures on the way to Petra and at the site are a lot different to Dahab as there is a big distance involved. Some people on our trip were in beach wear and were freezing all day. You also need a pair of trainers for walking round, flip flops are not adequate for walking around the site.

My brother and I looked for a day trip to the White and Colored Canyon, which is a well known site about 50km from Dahab. King Safari Dahab offered this. We were told we would leave the next day at 08:00am and that the group wouldn't consist of more that eight people due to the limited seating in the jeep.
They let us wait for 45 minutes the next morning. Furthermore, they stuffed nine people in the jeep, and as a result it was quite an uncomfortable while being seated for three hours the entire day. When I confronted the guy who sold us the tour with these things he got very angry at us for complaining. I expected an apology, but not this!
Even though the Canyons are worth visiting, I certainly wouldn't recommend this operator. They are rude and don't deliver what they promise. Do yourself a favor and find a different one.

This was a whole day trip into the Sinai desert. We were collected by minibus and driven into the desert as far as the rough road would go, then transferred into 4x4s after some Bedouin tea in the desert. These took us to the start of the red canyon, where they left us to walk the canyon which takes approximately one hour. At the end of the canyon we were picked up again and driven to an oasis where we had a very pleasant vegetarian lunch and rest for an hour.
After that we set off walking into the desert to the White canyon. This walk takes approximately 2 hours and in some places required climbing up and down very steep rock faces, or some very rough walking. You have to be very physically fit to do this trip!
But the canyons are so stunningly beautiful, it is totally worth it. The trip ends with s very steep sand slope that you literally "ski" down in your trainers, which is huge fun, once you realise that it's actually possible to do this!
At this point you are picked up again by the 4x4s and then returned back to Dahab via minibus.IT
IT IS A TOTALLY FANTASTIC DAY OUT. We were perhaps fortunate that our fellow travellers, who were German, French and Egyptian were brilliant company. Which certainly added to our enjoyment, but I would really recommend this trip if you are fit. I am retired but quite fit, so you don't have to be young, just nimble and a bit brave! We took s day out from diving to walk the canyons, and we are so glad that we fid

We went on the two day Jerusalem/Petra trip with king safari - the Petra part was excellent and our English guide was very good albeit the day was a bit of a rush as there is so much to cram into one day!
Jerusalem however was not so great - we had paid specifically for an English guide and yet our guide (sub contractor I understand) was, well, an idiot. Very political when trying to tell us "objectively" about Jerusalem and its history, kept swaying into his own religious and political beliefs which grated quite quickly. Our guide also only talked to us on the bus for about 10 minutes whereas the Russians had a guide who took over and talked for an hour at least after that. Basically it was rather like hijacking the Russians trips - they wanted to go to all the souvenir shops and so we did - rather than see the beautiful old town of Jerusalem or spend any time at the wailing wall (we had 10 minutes I kid you not) we spent instead 1 3/4 hours at a gift shop so the russians could stock up on god knows what. Our guide then had to rush us around the city and when I tried to catch up to him to ask him about various things he could be quite aggressive at times and defensive, almost as if he knew that he was giving a second class service.
The good part though was the owner, Josef. Professional throughout with excellent English, when we complained about our guide upon returning to dahab he apologised, listened and dealt with our concerns very well. He took on board all our issues and told us that he would not be using this guide again (who was from a new company previously not used by them apparently)
He also provided a spectacular evening of compensation - taking us out on camels to a Bedouin dinner the following night under the stars - absolutely fantastic! I would recommend people book this trip too as it was brilliant fun - had excellent tea and BBQ food in the mountains and singing and dancing around the campfire.
All in all - although we had some gripes about the Jerusalem part of the trip at first, Josef dealt with everything superbly and I would now rate him first class! Thanks again for the hospitality guys!
