- travelvidhya0 contributionsThe real Kashmir - paradise on earth! This is the best trek we've done in India so far, surpassing Hampta, Goechala, Sandakhphu and Kuari Pass...... The organizers, Mehraz and his team were superb. We were received at the airport and then taken to Sonamarg , from where the trek began. Our guide and horsemen met us there, and the next few days were heaven on earth. fantastic views, beautiful landscapes and unbelievable lake vistas. The food though simple, was healthy and cooked well. Since we were just two, our guide Akhtar doubled up as a cook. The two others , Zakir and Sadaqat were very polite, helpful and always eager to help. Akhtar was patient, kept pace and had good conversations with us. They set up tents before we arrived each day at the camp site ensuring a smooth transition period. We felt taken care of. Towards the end , Sadaqat even went fishing and caught us some brown trout from the lake, which Akhtar cooked the final night. The equipment was satisfactory with some niggles with the inner zip of our tent which wouldn't close smoothly. However, the staff always came to help, and fixed that each time we called. The final day in Srinagar, they arranged a houseboat stay which was also a great experience. Overall, i would definitely hike again with KashmirTreks and Mehraz's team.Written 13 July 2024
- JackieStandishWhite0 contributionsResponsive service and a great guideWe travelled to Kashmir in April to experience the Spring flowers and trek in the mountains. Shakeel Ahmed, our driver and guide was responsive and reliable. Once we had established the guidelines around Ramadan (which would have been useful to know and understand ahead of time), we worked very well together. When our homestay accommodation did not match our expectations, Mr Mir reacted promptly and alternative arrangements were made. The houseboat accommodation reserved for us on Nigeen Lake was exceptional and a definite highlight of our trip. The day treks in the mountains were of an easy to moderate standard and we thoroughly enjoyed them.Written 15 April 2024
- hinuk20240 contributionsTruly a great trek.Kashmir Great Lakes Trek is one of the best hiking trails in Srinagar Himalayas. I did it in October 23. It was a bit late in the season but thankfully we had a very good weather. It truly is something an accomplishment a multi-day trek.Written 10 March 2024
- W5077RPjimmya0 contributionsOne week Snow-HikingI was looking for an offbeat tour out from Srinagar and booked Kashmir Snow Trek with Kashmir Treks. I didn't know a lot about what to expect so every day was a surprise for us. We were two active mid- 50 year olds and this was not too difficult. Every day was more spectacular than the next aided by beautiful sunshine every day except for one period of about 30 minutes. The trip culminated wonderfully. We had a breathtaking hiking adventure. Meals were fresh and filling. Everyone raved about them and no one had dietary restrictions. We were provided with very warm camping gear, tents were pitched inside those Gypsy huts. Every evening we had bonfire. The staff performed very well in a responsible way. We enjoyed our one week hike. Kashmir Treks was infact a very good pick for the hiking tour. Many of our friends from home followed us on FB and added this trip to their bucket lists- it truly was spectacular. We strongly recommend this operator. Best Jamie & MikeWritten 9 March 2024

- henur20240 contributionsExcellent Great Lakes TrailWe arrived Srinagar in September, being our first visit we decided to do a walking tour. Absolutely no regrets. A wonderful 7 days we spent with great company. We were met warmly by Shakeel who drove us to the basecamp. Mudasir our guide gave us an initial introduction and information about the trek, he was so informative and fun. A real character who had such a vast knowledge of the Himalaya and Kashmir heritage. We began our hiking trip the very next day. Its a moderate trek not easy one. We enjoyed a lot at a slow pace we mixed ourselves with the surroundings that helped us to acclimatize. We made so many stops and we were in no rush. The guide Mudasar picked great locations for overnight camps, it was so quite and peaceful. Well done Mudasar. Thank you for introducing us to Kashmir and It all means so much more to us now and we loved it.Written 6 January 2024

- manruh0 contributionsGreatest HolidaysGreat Lakes Trek is the most beautiful experience of my stay in India. I did this beautiful trek in September. And it really did not disappoint. I was very lucky the sky was clear and the sunset everyday was so beautiful. My Guide Adil was super lovely, very talkative and caring. I was picked up at 7.30am from the Srinagar airport and had a lovely smooth drive to the Sonmarg. I was met my guide there who took me on the trek, the logistics everything was ready. I am a solo female traveler and felt very safe, Adil was lovely and very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna, I got to experience some of the best mountain scenery once I was up in the meadows near the twin lakes. It was Magical. I’d highly recommend booking a tour with these guys.Written 23 December 2023

- Farhi M0 contributionsAMAZING HOSPITALITYOne of the most amazing hospitality & routes been to for a winter hike. The package taken was a full end to end airport pickup to hotel drop off to transportation to the trek site/ mountain to lodging to food and guide and return hotel & airport drop off - nothing to worry as everything will be taken care of! Here is an extra review of the journey: 1- Driver (Shakeel) - BEST hospitality, he not only picked from the airport but also helped to bring me to a little neighbourhood shop to set up my phone SIM card (in Kashmir no other lines are allowed other than Airtel and some Indian carriers i think?), driver also dropped me at the city hotel, picked from the hotel and on the last day acceded to our request of bringing us a tour around the city & shopping (such goodwill to also bring us to authentic local spots to get the goodies). and ALSO, even followed up to make sure I am back in Singapore safely ! 2- Trek program & guide (Ali & Yaseer) - ONE phrase is, trust the guide. they are just experts on the weather, journey, etc., on the first day we didnt hike much but rather stayed at a very beautiful lake (I think it was facing small Marchoi or so), initially felt that the time was not fully utilised but then only realised they have checked (in fact probably trekked to the destination that was planned to go to check the weather) the weather at destination. overall it was a very FULFILLING, SERENE, and BEAUTIFUL journey! 3- Food & amenities (super cook who always has a cap on) - LIVE LOCAL, if you like to experience the true Kashmir culture and cuisine at its simplest/rawest form then you will definitely enjoy the food and lodging. All in all an awesome trip; great program, very very nice, trustworthy people (guides, cook & driver), thank you to the team! Will definitely return again :)Written 26 November 2023
- anirbantvp0 contributionsIt was a beautiful experience with Kashmirtreks to witness the grand meadows and blue alpine lakes of TosamaidanWe went to the Bodpathri Tosamaidan lakes trek between 26th August and 31st August. The trek experience was so mesmerising that I would rate it higher than Kashmir great lakes and Tarsar Marsar lakes. The meadows of tosamaidan are larger than that of KGL. Besides that you get to see the great Himalayan mountain range with peaks like Mount Kolahoi, Nun -Kun and Mount Harmukh throughout the trek. Now coming to the teekking team who helped us to obtain such a beautiful experience. The team was comprised of Mr. Maqbool who was our guide, Mr. Tahir, who was our cook while Mr. Adil and Mr. Imtiyaz were our horsemen. Maqbool took extra efforts to show us each and every lake. He was never in a hurry and allowed us to reach the camps at our our own pace. Adil and Imtiyaz were such hardworking guys that because of their special efforts we could reach the Bodsar and Pamsar lakes on the same day we reached the Duriem camp because they took us to the lakes on their horses. Tahir used to crack jokes and have fun throughout the trek. Adil won our hearts as he arranged bonfire on each days of the trek. Finally , we are greatful to Mr. Mehraz Mir, the trek organizer, who at the end of the day provided us with a comfortable stay with food at Hotel Ash Vale near the Dal Lake. Besides that he also arranged pick and drop till Airport.Written 2 September 2023

Kolahoi Glacier Trek has some of the most varied terrain one can ever witness in such a short distance. We took 6 days to cover the trek from Gagangir to Aru, via Satlanjan.
From Gagangir, though, it's really steep hike and sketchy if there is bad weather. My hiking partner and I have covered a lot of trail miles, and when the weather descended upon us at high elevation it became extremely difficult to find those shepherd huts. I don't think I would have made it to the hut if I had been alone. Seeing that hut materialize out of the pea soup-like fog seemed like a miracle.
We stayed in huts every night except for one. The camping area at Satlanjan seemed like the nicest to us, although it's a little down a hill (but that gives it more weather protection, too). We don't normally stay in huts, but I'm really glad to find those huts on this trail because the weather was quite bad at several sites.
So, if geology and fascinating landscapes are your thing, then make sure to do this trek! If, however, you'd rather hike in sunny and dry conditions, hike somewhere other than Kolahoi, we happened to hit the trail in one of the worst weather summers in Kashmir, but still, do some googling and you'll be hard pressed to find any trip report with good weather each day of the trek.

One of the best treks of my life. Kolahoi trek offers splendid mountain beauty. Although the trek is not an easy go but it's a worth to go on the trek. Walking through the pine forest and meadows is the highlight of the trek. I did the trek with my friends. We were three people and booked through Kashmir Treks. The staff was friendly and informative. The equipment was of a good quality. We recommend Kashmir Treks.

The mountain scenery is breathtaking, tents were spacious and clean. All the trek equipment was upto the mark. As per the company we were given the best guide Habib which he proved to be very polite and hardworking guy.
We were served the fresh meals everytime we asked.
