- RHBD920 contributionsBest way to spend a day in Bangalore! What a fantastic way to see Bangalore! From the hotel pick up and transportation for the day honestly one of the best ways to see the sights in a day. Tour guide was amazing and went above and beyond to make my day top notch!Written 1 February 2025
- Marisenmarie0 contributionsI learned a lot about Bengaluru and India. I met some interesting people during the day. I would definitely recommendDivatar was knowledgeable and if he did not know an answer he did not make one up. I had a few special requests and did them all. The tour exceeded my expectations and I really enjoyed Divatar's company for the day. I got to eat some tasty food with my fingers and NOT get yelled at, lol.Written 27 January 2025
- Dream047615601970 contributionsIf you have the timeThis tour requires some driving time. The highlight for me was the silk pod market. It is a fascinating place and learning how the pods are sold was very interesting. From there we visited a toy factory. That was somewhat interesting and may have been made better if more in the history or significance of the place was shared. The toy store we stopped at had a lot of variety. We also went to a recreation of historic times and villages where artifacts and relics were housed. This was okay and was made a little confounding by having a grounds person, perhaps docent follow us through. He was speaking over the guide and was hard to understand. The place was still under some construction but it was not obtrusive. There was some signage in English that provided historical perspective and that could have been enhanced. Our lunch stop was excellent. We ate with our hand off a banana leaf in traditional fashion. Final stop was the 400+ year old banyan tree. Some historical background on the tree would have been more interesting than pointing out the obvious way in which the tree grows and expands. More about the tree origins in India would have been of interest. My guide Vignesh spoke excellent English, communicated well regarding pickup details and was very accommodating. I am not sure I would call this a folk art tour, but some of the sites were of interest to me.Written 27 January 2025

- Peet H0 contributionsThrough Ancient KarnatakaA wonderful trip through the heart of ancient Karnataka. Vast monumental sites at Hampi and Aihole. A wonderful visit to Virupaksha and Galaganatha temples at Pattadakal. The enigmatic caves of Badami. A walkaround the Agastya Lake, going up the hill to visit 2 ancient monuments, the beautiful Boothnath temple close to the lake. Extensively guided by the sound and knowledgeable guides Rajesh (Hampi) and Kotresh (Aihole and Pattadakal). This 5day tour, very well organised through 5Senses Tours, we were accompanied and driven around by our most friendly driver Mohan.Written 17 January 2025
- Ulhas_Vairagkar0 contributionsBeautiful SculpturesThe temples at Halebid and Belur are just magnificent! The intricate carvings left us spellbound. While elements have damaged the sculptures somewhat, these are still very impressive. ASI has done a decent job in beautifying the the whole complex and it is reasonably clean. Worth a visit for anybody looking for great architecture and sculptures.Written 17 January 2025
- Dream047615601970 contributionsBangaluru tour - excellent!Divakar was a tremendous guide. His communication leading to meeting up was specific so I was confident about getting started. We visited 2 temples, the Parliament building, a palace, had an authentic lunch where we ate off a banana leaf with our hand and concluded with a lovely walk through the botanical tree garden. His knowledge of the history about each place was comprehensive and gave perspective on the sites. Five stars for sure for Divakar and this tour. Oh, and his driving skills are well honed for what’s required to get around! 🙈 Not some place I would ever consider renting a car.Written 15 January 2025

- jaxinthesun0 contributionsTop notch tour to MysoreHad a great day with Satish to go see the Mysore palace. The ride was clean, cool and comfortable, with plenty of water. We stopped at several attractions and had special guides at those locations that further provided an elevated experience. There were personalized stories and tours around the different sites. They really delivered a top level touring service, and all of the best places to take the photos. Lunch was delicious and local!Written 12 January 2025

I had a truly wonderful experience that highlights the beauty and culture Bangalore has to offer. If you're seeking something truly unique, I highly recommend experiencing classic dance. Sreeranjini is not only a talented dancer but also a gracious host and an inspiring teacher. Her passion and expertise shine through, making the experience unforgettable. It’s a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the art form while enjoying the vibrant energy of the city

We had a lovely time learning Bharatnatyam the classical dance of South India. After an on time hotel pick up,we were taken to a dance teacher who taught us the basics. Her students showed us the right hand gestures and facial movements. It was fascinating half day spent in understanding the culture of South India. I would recommend this for a beautiful way to experience indian culture

This was a great day indeed. I was picked up from my hotel on time next and taken to the venue where the dance teaching was on. Savithri was amazing. She was so kind and taught me some incredible steps. It's amazing how you can express yourself with with clarity by using gestures and hand movements. This is a 2000 was old dance form which originated in the ancient temples. Savithri and her students made it so much fun for me. It was my best day in India!

I had the privilege of doing the classical dance experience of Bharatnatyam. Savithri was phenomenal. She taught us how to use eyes and hands to express emotions. Her students were fantastic as well and taught us many poses. They showed Bharatnatyam can be used to tell stories and epics as well. Highly recommended

I would highly recommend this Classical Dance Experience to anyone who is interested in performing arts, the ways in which traditions are shared between generations and cultures, or in social interactions that go beyond conventional tourism. Although I had some familiarity with the traditional ceremony and art form, the experience of discussing and learning directly from the teachers and dancers was extraordinary. The dancers were incredibly skilled. Most are earning advanced degrees in Classical Indian Dance. I learned a great deal about dance forms and symbolic gesture, dance history, and performing arts pedagogy. I also tried my best to learn the Southern Classical basics. (I got maybe 2% of it 😂.) The dancers were very patient with me, and we laughed a LOT. I came away with a far deeper understanding of Bharatanatyam and tremendous respect for the traditional pedagogical methods that support this powerfully expressive form of dance.
