Kunal Rakshit was our guide through our travels through Varanasi, Prayag Raj and Ayodhya. Kunal was an amazing guide, always professional, very knowledgeable, polite, personable and accommodative. His networking skills were remarkable, and as a result we were able to accomplish everything and achieve all that we hoped for. His driver, Surya Prakash was excellent as well. My sister and I had gone to Varanasi to rediscover our roots and explore the parts we hadn't seen when we lived in the city all those years ago. Kunal Rakshit made all that possible and more! We only had one one day in Varanasi and Kunal made sure we had the best experience. He is passionate about the city and shared his knowledge in a very interesting way. He organised our tour so carefully. He communicated well and we came away feeling we had learnt so much about this holy place. Very adaptable and ensured we had prime seats to watch the Aarti ceremony. The man who rowed our boat was brilliant too and positioned us perfectly to view the cremation ghat. In a crowded place we always felt comfortable with him by our side. He takes great photos too!

Kunal is a fantastic guide. He obviously loves his city of Varanasi where he grew up which really came across. He showed us secluded temples and got us a great spot at the Aarti without having to queue. We had a bespoke afternoon tour with heritage walk and visited a Hindu priest. So interesting. After the Aarti we went to a tiny restaurant for street food. Delicious and not tummy upset. Kunal also helped us find another guide, Sanjay, for when he was unavailable who was also superb. Both very knowledgeable and passionate. And for those interested in Top Gear, Kunal was the Varanasi guide for James May on ‘Our Man in India’.

It was an awesome experience, the guide was a local and it was very experienced, and very cultured. We felt very comfortable and happy with the tour, Kunal was very respectful and helpful, it definitely made our time here better!

My husband and I spent 4 nights in Varanasi in December and we employed Kunal to be our tour guide for the entire stay. The best decision ever! Kunal went well beyond meeting our expectations and he gave us so many wonderfully immersive experiences which were truly life changing. At all times he took exemplary good care of us. He took us far and wide to local places, meeting local people and doing local things which I doubt are on the usual tourist route. He is passionate about his city, his knowledge is vast and he has a wonderful way of explaining very intricate complex subjects in easily digestible bite sized chunks. Kunal went the extra mile to arrange a trip to Kolkata for us including all transport links as well as tour guides and phoned us frequently to ensure all was on track. We have never before come across a guide who is so passionate and caring and he truly made our stay both very memorable, informative and supremely enjoyable. Thank you Kunal, you are an amazing man.

We arrived Varanasi by night train from Delhi. Our guide and car was waiting for us. We enjoyed our tour with experienced and well educated guide. Guide was always helpful and punctual to time. He always took care of group and its security. Food restaurent he sugessted were good and he knows this city very well. I will sugesst his services to visit Varanasi and its nughbour citys.

From the moment I met Kunal at the airport, he immediately cared; he saw to it that my bags were handled, asked me if there was anything I needed before we departed the airport, and asked me how my journey went. He offered me a bottle of water and confirmed my hotel location, and once more, before we left, he checked and asked me if there was anything I needed before we began our journey together. Kunal gave us a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I can’t even put into words the magic we experienced spending 2-1/2 days with him. There is no one who knows the city better. As a small boy growing up at the heals of his grandfather, running through the back alleys of the city, swimming in the “Mother Ganga” and having been born and raised in Varanasi, Kunal knows everyone and everyone knows him. Combine that innate understanding with his advanced studies at the elite Hindu University, and his outgoing, affable personality and you have a tour guide who is second to none. Absolutely fabulous!!! My daughter (who was a comparative religion major in college) had a particular fascination with city and the many, many people who make pilgrimages there. Kunal not only showed us the historic and significant sites, but knowing her particular interests he arranged for us to actually participate in some sacred rituals and meet a world-famous guru. The experience is one I will remember forever.
