Ravi - Baba the School of Music
As a group of musicians and non musicians we arrived not quite knowing what to expect, but hoping for an introduction to Indian music, as well as some hands on experience. By the time we left we were all (musicians and non musicians alike) able to play some simple patterns on tabla, as well as to witness and understand the awesome potential of this instrument in the hands of a master. We also tried drones, harmonium, flutes and sitars and learnt about the role they play in Indian classical music.
Ravi was an exceptionally patient and generous teacher, adapting the lesson to meet our needs and encouraging us supportively as we went along. Each of us came with different aspirations for the session and Ravi managed to meet all of these, while providing a relaxed and encouraging setting. I would thoroughly recommend him as a teacher and guide.
Ravi was also a good friend!

Ravi and his school of musician/teachers enriched my trip to Benares and made a lifelong dream of studying harmonium and voice in India come true. Their guidance and mentoring were stellar; Ravi is a professional, committed, friendly, and dedicated instructor. He also helped me procure a harmonium which I bought and brought back to the USA. So grateful! I plan to go back one day and study in more depth. Thank you Baba School of Music.

I visited Benares in search of classical Indian music lessons and found them here at Baba. Ravi and his team were very friendly and professional and I learned a lot studying with them. Studying at Baba has made me a better musician and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to further their music education! 10 out of 10! Probably the best music school in Benares.
