- helenp8280 contributionsWest Side of Bali private tourWhat a great tour. Our guide, Mur, was wonderful, very friendly and informative... a really nice guy! We had plenty of time to see everything and more. I don't write reviews very often but this tour merits it.Written 18 March 2025

Walked about half way down and the guide took us to where the temple was on the right side you could see the steps leading up to where we had been no waiting and no crowds waiting. He is friendly & managed our schedule well. We felt we had enough time to appreciate each site & no wasted time also. He took the initiative to take pictures for us & suggested good locations & posts. He was flexible when we asked him to drop us off at a restaurant which was farther from our hotel at the end of the tour. He was very nice about accommodating our request. We highly recommend this West Bali tour & also Wena.Written 11 March 2025

- janbG2000NQ0 contributions5 Day Tour of BaliWe just returned from an unforgettable 5-day tour of Bali, and we can’t say enough good things about our experience with Surya with EcoBali! From the moment we met, he was warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about Bali’s history, culture, and hidden gems. Throughout the tour, he customized our itinerary perfectly, balancing famous landmarks like Uluwatu Temple and Tegallalang Rice Terraces with lesser-known spots that gave us a more authentic experience. He also introduced us to amazing local food, ensuring we got to taste the best of Balinese cuisine. Not only was he an excellent driver and guide, but he also took fantastic photos for us, making sure we had memories to cherish. He was always punctual, patient, and flexible, allowing us to explore at our own pace. If you’re looking for a guide who truly cares about making your trip special, look no further than Surya with EcoBali Tours! We highly recommend him and will definitely book with him again when we return to Bali. Mike and JanWritten 8 March 2025

One of the best we had in Bali, from start to finish…Besides the really good itinerary we had a fantastic driver Mur, who was fantastic, gave information on the places we went and accompanied us through the program. He also took us to a fantastic hotel restaurant with a scenic Mount Batur and lake view which also had amazing food which was one of the highlights for us during our tour. Everything about this tour is highly recommended; the tour company with real professionalism, our driver and the itinerary itself.Written 13 February 2025
- FellowTraveler1572390 contributionsFantastic Overview of Bali (Four days visit)I had a very good overview of Bali. I booked this agency based on the reviews. The reservation process was very simple and completed weeks in advance. I organized four days visiting the North, East, West and Central región. Although the weather was a challenge, the guide / driver (Surya) managed the itinerary very wel - he knows his island! - making the trip a safe one every single day. Surya was always on time, with a smile, willing to share his knowledge about Bali I strongly suggest to book with this agency and with Surya.Written 12 February 2025
- Bobbi F0 contributionsBook This Tour-Simply The Best (request Dharma Fun Driver if you can)This was our favorite tour of the entire trip! Darma Fun Driver was an amazing guide who provided excellent service and unique insights into many of west Bali’s most treasured locations. Darma made it so much fun, providing interesting commentary at each of the temples we visited. We made a few impromptu stops, including a visit to a local coffee plantation, where we were able to try 12 different varieties of teas and coffee and learn about how the coffee is roasted. After each stop, my partner and I would comment that it was “our favorite stop so far,” and within minutes be forced to admit that the next stop was even better. We ended up doing a mile and a half long hike through the rice terraces at the UNESCO heritage site (Jatiluwih) which truly WAS the most magical stop of our journey. I’m very picky when I select tours, making sure that I review all the reviews, see how many total reviews have been posted, look at the pictures, etc. And I can say with 150% confidence that you will be well taken care of and will have the best tour you could possibly have of Bali using this tour company and specifically requesting Darma Fun Driver as your guide. As an added bonus, if you happen to be an Instagram devotee or an Influencer, Darma knows how to take amazing pictures and videos, and will gladly do so. Unfortunately, we are not Instagram folks, but rest assured that if that is your jam, you won’t be disappointed! He takes the time to cater to his guests, and it felt like being shown the highlights of Bali by a good friend. He is an excellent driver as well, which it’s important to know when choosing someone to entrust with your life on Bali’s congested streets. To top it off, he is also a comedian and has an impish giggle to boot. Book this tour…you can thank me later!Written 30 January 2025

Surya was an excellent communicator using WhatsApp the day before and the day of our trip to ensure we knew plans. He was punctual. His vehicle was clean, comfortable and air conditioned. He had planned ahead to ensure our tickets were available and had placed a colleague in line for us so that we did not have a lengthy delay to access the dance show. We very much appreciated him accompanying us through the monkeys as we walked in to the temple - his magic monkey stick meant that we didn’t have to worry about losing our glasses unlike others that we saw! He took photos for us and guided us through our experience with care. The dance show was spectacular and it is worth getting the first show of the evening in order to have the sunset as your backdrop. We would recommend getting there early as the auditorium gets very busy and full and spectators continue to arrive throughout the performance which can be disruptive. Surya advised us where to sit relative to the view and sunset and suggested a slightly premature departure time in order to miss the huge crowds leaving and entering for the subsequent performance. The dinner was well managed and he ensured we had the best seats right on the sea front. The food choice however was not to our taste and in retrospect we would have chosen our own restaurant to complete the evening. Thank you for a great night out.

We had an absolutely unforgettable experience on our Uluwatu Sunset, Kecak Dance, and Jimbaran Beach Dinner trip, and a huge part of that was thanks to our fantastic guide, Wayan Netra. From the moment we were picked up, Wayan's friendliness and extensive knowledge stood out. He arrived on time, and his car was spotless, complete with air conditioning and refreshing cold water, which was much appreciated in the Bali heat.
Wayan went above and beyond to make sure our experience was seamless. He fast-tracked us at ticket counters, expertly navigated the crowds, and even knew the best routes to avoid the busiest areas, allowing us to capture stunning photos at all the prime spots without the stress of heavy foot traffic.
The Uluwatu sunset was a sight we'll remember forever – absolutely breathtaking. Wayan made sure we had the best views before guiding us to the Kecak Dance performance, which was both mesmerizing and culturally enriching. His tip to make a quick exit allowed us to avoid the post-show rush and get to Jimbaran Beach in perfect time for dinner.
The dinner at Jimbaran was the perfect end to the evening. The seafood was incredible, with prawns that were the size of lobsters – truly a highlight! Every detail of the trip was carefully thought out, and we have no doubt that Wayan's professionalism and expertise made this experience one of the best we've had in Bali.
We highly recommend this tour, especially with Wayan as your guide. He ensured every moment was perfect, and we are so grateful for his efforts in making this an extraordinary day!

This was one of the most entertaining dance performances we've ever seen. The performers engage with the audience, making the experience more interactive and keeping everyone involved in the play. To get tickets, it's recommended to arrive early and join the queue at least 2 hours before the show. We attended the 6 pm sunset performance, arriving at 3:30 pm to wait in the long line. Despite arriving early, we still didn't get the best seats. Booking tickets online is a better option, even if it’s slightly more expensive, as it allows quicker access.

Review:
Wow! What an experience! From the beginning, the company was communicative and flexible with us. Our guide, Mur, was incredible! His expertise and knowledge of each location we explored was amazing! Mur did an awesome job with his engagement & investment into ensuring we had a great experience from start to finish. If you have an opportunity to request a guide once you reserve this tour, ask for Mur! You won’t regret it!
The experience of visiting the temple, having the opportunity to see the Kecak Dance in person, and then having dinner on the beach was outstanding! If you are in Bali, this is an experience and company I recommend you should consider.
Recommendations:
It does get hot as your navigate on the temple grounds so I would recommend a small fan or whatever you need to stay cool. Now, the monkeys were great! A lot of hate on the monkeys, which I didn’t understand as we were there with Mur, but still make sure to secure your things while around the monkeys. I would recommend a crossbody bag. It also is very hot in the stadium, in which, the Kecak dance takes place. This is due to the amount of people in one place as well as the sun directly hitting you as it sets. I recommend bringing an umbrella to block the sun but make sure to close it up once the dance begins.

We had a wonderful afternoon. We were picked up in the afternoon by Suta. He was early and waited for us, the car was comfortable and well air conditioned, and he spoke very good English. He was very chatty and gave us some excellent advice for visiting the temple, such as not to openly carry hats, sunglasses or anything that the monkeys can steal as they are very different in behaviour to the ones at the Ubud Monkey Forest!
The temple itself is quite an experience. If your knees are showing, male or female, you’ll be asked to wear a sarong which is provided for free, and everyone wears a sash. There are toilets at the temple, but we recommend bringing your own toilet paper/paper towels as there weren’t any in either set of toilets (very commonplace). There are monkeys everywhere, but these ones are very different temperament to those at Ubud, so leave your hats/glasses behind and carry your phone or anything in your hands carefully! They will steal them and try to eat them - you won’t get them back! Suta, our guide, was very attentive, keeping the monkeys away from us when they started to get too close.
Perched on the side of a cliff and overlooking the Indian Ocean, the views are stunning, timing your visit for sunset gives amazing photo opportunities!
Make sure you get tickets for the Kecak - it’s one of those experiences you will never forget! The performers were incredible, and the handout explaining the story really helps to gain an understanding. Again, Suta did an excellent job, getting us seats central and right near the front so we had an amazing view.
After the dance we left the temple and went to a beachfront restaurant for a grilled fish dinner. Honestly, unless you’re fish lovers, I’d give this part a miss - it is optional. The food was ok, and the atmosphere was busy, there are many other restaurants and bars sharing that part of the beach. For the same price there are many other better restaurants available. It wasn’t bad, there are just better out there, certainly still good enough to give the tour 5*.
Overall an incredible experience that is a must do in Bali. We were lucky, we’ve done many tours (7 now!) in the 10 days we’ve been in Bali, and Suta was our favourite driver/guide. The fire dance was also in the top experiences for both me and my wife.

What a wonderful experience. Widi our guide was absolutely fantastic! He picked us exactly up on time, discussed what to see in Bali and gave us insight into the different areas we drove through from Seminyak on the drive there. Widi is obviously an experienced tour guide, he knew lots of the monkeys individually and they seemed to recognise him, keeping a safe distance! He defended us from them and got up close to them to take some fantastic photos for us! Widi knew all the best photo spots of the views and took loads of pictures of us, he carried my partners phone and snapped away!
The show itself is an experience! Worth seeing as so different from anything you would see in the UK and the views are spectacular, we did the early show and would recommend for the sunset! Fantastic!
Widi then kindly offered to transfer us to our tour the following day and even text us afterwards to see how we enjoyed it! Truly lovely chap!

The performance itself is good and in a nice setting with the sunset.
However, with most touristy things it becomes a bit of a money grab.
Booked the tickets online for about 150,000rp you get a confirmation then you get to the temple, but wait, you have to pay another 50 000rp to get inside in order to collect your tickets, and then queue up to get the ticket.
You then have to get to queue up again at the performance area early, up to an hour for a good spot, there are no seats and it's hot as the sun goes down
Then as the late comers arrive you are told to shuffle along in your row so you are packed like sardines.
Did this show 15 years ago, it wasn't like this.

It is totally worth seeing the temple, and the show on the cliffs is perfect. Must go at six o'clock to watch the sunset. No need to sit in advance because it is circular and looks good from all places. Watch out for monkeys I've seen remove glasses and mobile phones!
And I totally recommend dinner in Jimbaraya, dining seafood with your feet in the sand watching the lights of Kuts and Ulawatu and hearing the waves break a few meters is wonderful.
Finally thanks to our guide, Ngurah, who drove us safely, showed us the temple and gave advice to sit and leave quickly avoiding the queues of 1400 people leaving the show, dais kashi

My wife and I had an incredible experience on this tour, and our guide, Putu, was the best guide we’ve had in Bali! He was not only attentive but also very knowledgeable about the local population and culture. He answered all of our questions and made the entire trip enjoyable. The walk through the Uluwatu Temple with a thousand monkeys was fascinating, and the Kecak dance was a unique and captivating experience. We recommend going to Session 1—it happens right at sunset, which adds to the atmosphere. Session 2 would be too late and dark. After the dance, we chose to eat at a local restaurant near the temple instead of the beach restaurant, which is about an hour’s drive. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and we highly recommend this tour! 5 stars!

The temple is in a beautiful location, perched on the cliffs above the Indian ocean. Just a warning that it's very popular so it was teeming with people and felt overcrowded.
The monkeys were very cute and provided extra entertainment.
The dance was a unique experience, with talented performers that also made the show fun.
My driver Darma got us there safely (traffic was very challenging), made sure we navigated the crowds with minimal stress, got my ticket for the show ahead of time and helped choose the best seats so I could admire the gorgeous sunset during the show.
Ended the evening with a tasty seafood dinner in the beach.
I recommend this tour if you're not afraid of crowds and want to experience a unique performance in Bali. Highly recommend the company and Darma!
