Our family of four adults did the cycling tour. This included visiting a coffee plantation followed by a late breakfast and then a 25km bike ride with a late lunch to finish. The ride was mostly down hill through an attractive rural area. Well paced ride with regular breaks to discuss local features. Guide was pleasant and informative. Luwak coffee plantation visit was interesting. Breakfast was average although the views were spectacular. Lunch at the Tepi Sari Restaurant was a highlight.

The people were amazing! They picked us off and dropped us off. Our guide was so kind and helpful. The food was amazing and the views were great!!! I highly recommend it was one of the best things I’ve done in my life. Be cautious with bringing children with you as one part the tour is on a busy road and can be very dangerous.

I had a great time with Bali Rocky and our guide Gede Sutapa. We were bussed from Ubud to the start of cycling after breakfast in Kitamani overlooking the volcanos and then via a coffee stop to get our bikes. The cycling accommodated everyone in the group and took us through backroads and rice fields. Mainly down hill there were a few hills but short ones so if you can't make it you can get off and walk. Gede was able to describe the rural life in Bali, how the rice is grown and harvested, how people worship and overall culture of Bali. He took us through his village. Overall a great riding and cultural experience

First part of our day booked through an experience package on murni's website was cycling with rocky's cycling tour group. The package included a pick up from our hotel in Sayan by our cycling tour guide Gede. I was quite apprehensive between the thought of cycling in 30 degree heat amongst slightly manic traffic but was instantly put at ease by Gede whose friendly attitude and energy rubbed off instantly.
The tour started with a drive of approximately an hour to a coffee plantation where we spent about half an hour or so sampling local tea, coffee and chocolate ( try the coconut coffee, sweet but amazing and included). You are also able to try the Luwak coffee (or cat poo cinno) which if you can get passed the process is nice and very cheap considering it's supposed to be the most expensive coffee in the world (around £2.50).
We then headed up on another short drive to a small resturant overlooking a breath taking view of mount batur and the lake for breakfast (also included in the package). The banana pancakes were very good and with excellent service from the staff.
Following breakfast we heading to the starting point for our ride which consisted of a 30-35km pleasant bike ride, mainly down hill through around 10 villages, rice fields and a bit of forest. Gede was very knowledge and informative in subjects including religion, environment, traditions, sport and working life in a honest and open manner but is also interested in what you had to say about Bali and your local culture as well which was a breath of fresh air. Also, you are followed by a supporting car which you can leave bags if required.
The tour ended at a family house belonging to Gede's boss for lunch with local food and a chance of a Q and A of sorts before a transfer to our booking a tamarind spar in ubud.
My wife and I couldn't recommend this tour enough.

I chose Bali Rocky Mountain upon reading the multitude of great reviews for this cycling trip. However my experience was far from great.
To start with, rather than of getting on with the ride, we where firstly taken to a coffee demonstration and over priced store, which appears to be the standard time waster on many day trips around Ubud.
A banana pancake and tea breakfast with views from Kintamani where amazing, and worth a visit.
When we finally got to ride some hours later, we where allocated a bike without any prior consultation for particular needs. Our guide Gede did not seem at all concerned the bike was not suitable, dismissing my concerns. After much embarrassment on my part another bike was procured and the ride finally began.
Now I do admit I was not the fitness person on the trip. A fact pointed out before we left and confirmation sought to confirm the ride was suitable for "all fitness levels"
I found the ride challenging, however was urged to go at my own pace, that the ride was not a race. So I did, however missed many explanations about interest points, as Gede only spoke to the forward group, and immediately moved on when I caught up. Thank goodness for the driver following, as several times the forward group where so far ahead and out of site and I didn't know which way to go.
I have no doubt this could have been an amazing experience, but just not for someone with low fitness level and a guide who has was impatient and showed no consideration.

I invite a friend from Malaysia to have a cycling in Bali. I recommend them to use Bali Rocky Cycling. The tour starts by visiting a coffee plantation at Tampaksiring where you can find the expensive coffee in the world called Luwak Coffee, next you will have a light breakfast at Kintamani facing the amazing view of vulcano. The guide was Made, he is a nice guy and very attentive with the guest. I follow them from behind. He is very knowledgeable able to explain the local tradition. The cycling start from a small countryside passing rice field and natural village with many smilling children yelling at you. A quite long way exploring the real life of balinese till you reach the lunch place at a small house facing to the Petanu river. A goof recommendation. Will definitely recommend other friends to come.

Through the internet we contacted BRMCT and we got a prompt and clear answer to our questions. We were able to book guide GeDe as we read some great reviews about his tours. Also booking through internet saves you a lot of money in comparison to the rates offered by the travel agents. We got the tour for 350k per person which included: pick up by taxi (in our situation a 1,5 hour ride, bikes of good condition and suitable for our family (180/190), caps, guide GeDe who appeared to be as we have read in other TA reviews, enthousiastic, likes to tell stories about Bali, its traditions, family life, temples. While sharing these stories we cycled downhill, uphill, offroad, visited beautiful temples, through the rice fields. It was also comforting to know that the taxibus followed us constantly with spare materials. We also were given bottles of water and lots of moments to stop and enjoy the views. We saw a lot of the local life, school girls, people working in the rice fields, people busy with their daily life. At the end of the tour we were offered a lunch at the house of the owner of the cycling company. This place was so lovely, we were able to enter their family house, again with great comments of GeDe about the traditions in the families. Walking through these premises we came on a spot with a marvelous view downhill. What a view! We were offered a lovely and tasty warm buffet lunch and we were asked to go for a second round of food 😀. When we were finished we could easily pay for the trip, cash or by credit car. So easy. Finally we got into the taxi for a ride back to the hotel, again 1,5 hr. In the end we were picked up at 8am and were back at the hotel at 330pm. I'm glad we had this experience, with GeDe' comments and presence we have been able to learn and see more about Bali. This should be mandatory for every tourist in Bali!

Unknowing what company our guest house booked for us, we ended up Bali Rocky. It started with a nice free sampling of coffee and tea at a local plantation, after which we were treated to a breakfast with a stunning view of the gunung batur volcano. Next we had the pleasure of cycling down hill through a diverse countryside (on and off-road by choice) with our lovely guide Dedut. He was kind enough to lead us and to watch the group, as well as provide ample information at the severel stops. Lastly we were treated on a Balinese style buffet, after which we were nicely dropped off at the hotel. Great experience, little exercise and great views.

We did a few tours while in Bali and I enjoyed this downhill cycling tour with Bali Rock the most. Our tour guide was Gede who was very friendly and courteous and looked after us very well. Highlights included going off the main road and cycling around rice terraces, seeing the traditional villages and homes of the local people. Breakfast overlooking the volcano was also a great way to start the tour.

I was fortunate to be the only person taking the cycling tour! My tour guide was Gede who was very informative and friendly!
In the morning we went to the coffee plantations where we were given free coffee samples to try. The staff were very helpful in explaining the different types of coffee and the production process.
Free breakfast is included, in a restaurant overlooking Mt. Batur.
The cycling tour itself is mostly downhill which is pleasant. We toured off the main roads, which was quieter and more interesting!
The tour ends with a buffet lunch in one of the villages.
Definitely one to do if you're in Bali!
