About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- WKBHolland0 contributionsUnforgettable Safari Experience – Perfectly OrganizedWe had an absolutely fantastic safari experience with Safari Soles! Everything was seamlessly arranged, from being picked up at our hotel in Zanzibar to the flight to the Serengeti, where we spent two incredible days on safari, followed by a day exploring the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. Our guide, Estomih, was truly exceptional. He set out early each day to give us the best possible chance of seeing the amazing wildlife. Thanks to him, we had the rare opportunity to witness incredible sights, including a leopard resting in a tree, a cheetah with her cubs, and countless majestic lions. His deep knowledge of the area and its wildlife, combined with his respectful and considerate approach toward nature and other tourists, made the experience even more special. He was extremely helpful and ensured we had the best views while always prioritizing the well-being of the animals. If we ever go back, we would absolutely request him as our guide again! The organization from the office was also flawless. Douglas ensured that everything was well coordinated, and he kept us informed throughout the entire trip. He regularly checked in to make sure everything was going smoothly, providing updates on transport and schedules. Communication via WhatsApp was quick and efficient, which made everything even easier. In short, this safari was an unforgettable adventure, perfectly organized with outstanding guidance. We highly recommend Safari Soles to anyone looking for a unique and well-managed safari experience in Tanzania!Written 28 March 2025
- T6605LWjoe0 contributionsTop Notch, Exceeded Expectations!Upon deciding to go to Tanzania, we sent out inquiries to several operators to evaluate their responses. Our criteria included: 1. A member of the Tanzania Association of Tour Operators (TATO). 2. The quality of the communication with the company. 3. The company had to be local and registered in Tanzania. Applying these three main criteria above we decided on Safari Soles to be our tour operator. It turned out to be our best travel decision. Safari Soles is a Tanzanian owned local tour operator that is superbly organized. Our contact was Furahini whose communication skills are superlative. She responded in all cases immediately and in a most respectful, professional manner. We must say that Furahini is the main reason we settled on Safari Soles Tours. Furahini responded to many emails, phone calls and texts as we planned our safari. All questions were unambiguously answered and in sufficient detail. She gave us several revised options as we navigated our understanding of where we were going. When we arrived in Tanzania, the entire tour went exactly as agreed and totally exceeded any expectations we had. Chief picked us up from the airport and transported us to the Arusha Farm House which is an oasis in the bustling and difficult to navigate city of Arusha. Chief was our driver several times during our time in Tanzania and he taught us so much about Tanzanian and Maasai culture all in a humorous and engaging fashion. Our main safari guide was Oscar. Oscar is a highly experienced and personable guide with good English and an amazing knowledge of the animals who live there. We spent eight days with Oscar and the tour he took us on was the most incredible time in all our travel life. We went to the Tarangire, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Basin. We have traveled to many continents and seen many places, but this was the crown jewel of them all. We attribute much of this to Oscar as he knew exactly where to go and what would be most rewarding to see. We saw the big five and much more, including calving and the great migration of the Wildebeests. The last couple of days was a cultural tour of some of the local Tanzanian tribes, the Datooga and the Hadzabe. Along with Oscar, Alex was our guide for these. Alex literally wrote the book on them. It was a highlight of our safari. Enock was our cheerful and efficient day guide through Safari Soles for the Kilimanjaro Foothills tour. We enjoyed coffee grown, roasted, ground and prepared before our very eyes by the most wonderful local people. We then went for a swim at some hot springs. Enock ensured that all went well. The accommodation provided by Safari Soles was mid-range, but really from our perspective it was largely luxury given the locations and seasonal nature of some of them. Internet was always available, the food was fabulous and the service impeccable. For instance, at the Ngare Lodge, we felt we were at a Michelin rated restaurant as Fatima saw to our every need and ensured we were completely satisfied. We recommend that you take enough cash for tips as you will want to say thank you to all who help you. We concluded our one-month excursion with the last two weeks on the island of Zanzibar. Amazing beaches, great service and wonderful locals describe our time there. The last few days were spent at Sauti Za Busara, a celebration of modern African music in Stone Town. During our stay on Zanzibar, Furahini was available the whole time by phone if we had any questions, to arrange transportation and accommodation even though we had finished our safari tour. Without a doubt, this was the most amazing and wonderful travel time we have had. Thank you to Safari Soles, their excellent staff and all their affiliates. Not sure we will ever be able to top it.Written 26 March 2025
- Excursion186916240210 contributionsGreat Migration Calving SeasonOne of the greatest trips we've ever taken. We were taken care of from landing until our departure. We saw so many animals and our guide Isaac was fantastic at finding them. Given that this was not the high season, we did not have to contend with crowds.Written 26 March 2025

- maggiebQ6523MJ0 contributionsUnbeatable Experience from Safari Soles!!My best friend and I just finished our 7 day safari through Northern Tanzania including Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and the foothills of Kilimanjaro. We decided on Safari Soles due to their incredible itinerary and constant ease of communication. From first inquiry, Oken was quick to provide us with a quote and responded to all of our questions and concerns efficiently. We ended up changing our flights to do a week in Zanzibar prior to the safari and he was super helpful in organizing transportation from our hotel in Zanzibar to the airport and then the flights over to Arusha. We also had to change the dates of the safari from Oct 2024 to March 2025 and they were extremely understanding and helpful in accommodating those changes. Upon pickup from the airport, we met our guide Oscar. I have a million great things to say about Oscar!! He is the most knowledgeable and kind guide and went out of his way to make sure we had the best safari experience. He had a keen eye for spotting all types of animals and never failed to make us laugh. The nerves of being with a stranger for a week were instantly gone during our first game drive when we all were cracking jokes the whole time. His expertise for all the different types of animals was unmatched and made it as though we were constantly learning things on our drives. He truly provided us with the best week ever! After our safari concluded and we were back in Arusha, we did a one day tour of the Materuni waterfalls, a coffee farm, and the Kikuletwa Hot Springs. Baltazary was our guide and he was super informative during the hike and a great tour guide for the day! Overall I can’t recommend Safari Soles enough. Their incredible communication and staff made this trip so easy and so so incredible. Can’t wait to come back!Written 24 March 2025
- E6236SDpaigeg0 contributionsAmazing Tanzania Safari TourA friend and I did the 7 day northern circuit tour and had such a fantastic time! Oscar was our guide and I cannot recommend him enough. He was knowledgeable, funny, and a great driver. Being two young women, my friend and I always felt safe, heard, and overall had a wonderful time. We saw so many amazing animals, our accommodations were very nice, and food was great. If you are considering a safari in Tanzania, I highly recommend Safari Soles Tours and Oscar!Written 24 March 2025
- nesterchen0 contributionsSafari Soles Tours delivered an absolutely unforgettable adventure! It was our first ever safari trip so we were a little nervous but from the first contact with Patrick, he was very professional and customized the entire schedule to our needs, even answering a million of the questions I had in a very timely and communicative manner. The entire experience was seamless and exceeded our expectations. We never had a single worry as everything was taken care of from end to end. This company truly understands how to craft a perfect safari experience. The accommodations were fantastic, the logistics were flawlessly handled, and the wildlife sightings were beyond our wildest dreams. We would like to give an huge shoutout and thank you to our incredible guides, Eli and Shema. Their expertise was simply outstanding. They possess an encyclopedic knowledge of all the animals and effortlessly spotting animals from literally miles away. They also always went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and safety. Their dedication elevated our trip from a good safari to an exceptional one. We wholeheartedly recommend Safari Soles Tours and the entire staffing team (Patrick, Frank, Chief, and more) for their invaluable contribution to our once-in-a-lifetime journey. This is a definitive 10/10 experience!Written 23 March 2025
- Andreas S0 contributionsOutstanding Safari Experience with Safari SolesWe had a fantastic three-day safari adventure organized by Safari Soles. Our journey began in Arusha, continued through the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater and the expansive Serengeti, and concluded with a convenient flight from Seronera Airstrip to Zanzibar. Oken did an excellent job tailoring the tour to our individual preferences, always responding swiftly to our inquiries. Our guide, Innocent, was simply exceptional. His sharp eyes and keen hearing, coupled with excellent communication with fellow guides both on the ground and via radio, made spotting rare wildlife—such as rhinos and a cheetah with her young cubs—seem effortless. The accommodations exceeded our expectations, and the food was delicious. Though safaris are inherently costly, we felt that Safari Soles offered great value for the price, especially after extensive comparison with other operators. We wholeheartedly recommend Safari Soles for anyone looking for a memorable safari experience!Written 20 March 2025
- KESSA T0 contributionsAmazing Experience – Nature & Culture Combined! My visit to Materuni Waterfalls and the coffee tour was absolutely unforgettable! The hike to the waterfall was refreshing, with stunning views of lush greenery and fresh mountain air. The waterfall itself was breathtaking, a perfect spot to relax and take in nature’s beauty. The coffee tour was equally amazing! The local guides were knowledgeable and engaging, showing us the entire coffee-making process from bean to cup. Grinding and roasting coffee traditionally was a fun and immersive experience. The hospitality of the Chagga people made it even more special. Overall, this trip was a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and relaxation. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Arusha!Written 18 March 2025

- B998GPjanj0 contributionsAn amazing experience! We booked independently with Safari Soles and from start to finish, the service was excellent. Communication and online discussions with Renata were always professional, clear, informative and prompt with any questions dealt with quickly. Our budget Safari included Tarangire NP, the Southern Serengeti NP and Ngorongoro Crater with the Sero tented camp and Simba campsite. Simon, our guide, was excellent. He had a great depth of knowledge and experience knowing the parks geographically, along with his understanding of the wildlife. He was kind, considerate and professional throughout the trip. Ibraheem, our young chef, was equally professional, courteous and keen. His cooking was of an extremely high standard and he catered very well for my vegetarian husband. His mango salad is a salad to remember! Simon our guide had no problem seeking out the big 5 and so much more! It became obvious he was well respected by other guides and he worked very hard to seek out the best of the wildlife in each of the parks. I highly recommend Safari Soles a truly professional outfit that caters for individuals! Thank you everyone and especially Simon, Ibraheem and Renata for a trip we will never forget. 100% perfect! Thank you, Safari Soles Jan and Steve from the UKWritten 14 March 2025
- ZhouH100 contributionsWitness the great migration in TanzaniaOur Tanzania safari was truly unforgettable, thanks to Safari Soles, Sales Agent Angel Sole and last by not leaat, our exceptional guide Guide's Estomih. His expertise and attentiveness made the journey extraordinary. With an eagle eye, he spotted animals from miles away—whether majestic lions, elephants, or lesser-known species—and shared fascinating insights about their behaviors and ecosystems. His dedication to ensuring the best experience was evident: he adjusted the vehicle for perfect photo opportunities, patiently answered endless questions, and even offered photography tips, making us feel cared for throughout. The highlights included witnessing the awe-inspiring Great Migration and observing a pride of lions up close in Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. His deep knowledge of animal migration patterns allowed us to capture the most vivid moments of nature. Why We Recommend: Professionalism, attention to detail, and a flawless safari experience.Written 14 March 2025

We did a 3 day 2 night fly in safari with Safari Soles and our wonderful guide Christian.
Firstly from enquiring with a lot of different safari companies we were very impressed with Safari Soles, quick responses and answered any of our questions and also great suggestions of an itinerary and which lodges we had the choice of. Boniface was very easy to deal with and everything was explained clearly. Naturally when paying money for a service abroad before you go, you may be a bit nervous but with Safari Soles I can save you the job of searching and confirm they are a great and legitimate company.
From leaving our Zanzibar hotel where our driver was promptly on time it was easy with all the flights and transfers already booked for us to get us right into Central Serengeti Seronera airstrip.
Our guide Christian was excellent from start to finish. Christian was so knowledgable, a very careful driver on difficult roads, always checking we were ok and sorting everything at the lodges and most importantly he was an expert at spotting the animals and shared his knowledge of all the wildlife with us. Christian always got us in the best spots on the track to see the animals and take pictures and he tailored the whole trip to how and what we wanted to do/see so it was very personalised.
We visited Central Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater both were fantastic in their own ways.
Lodges - we stayed in Serengeti Safari Lodge the first night and Lion’s Paw Camp by Karibu just outside the crater. Both lodges were amazing and we were really happy Safari Soles were able to secure Lion’s Paw lodge for us as we know it’s popular but believe me, if you can stay there, do it - the views, lodge, food, service, location near the crater, is amazing. We would go back there in a heartbeat!
During our time in the Serengeti we also did a hot air balloon safari in the morning, we got to see the sunset whilst the animals were roaming around below us. It’s an early start and is understandably expensive but it was a once in a lifetime experience. After we landed we were welcomed with a glass of champagne and a bush breakfast to follow.
Thanks again Christian and Safari Soles team for giving us a great and unforgettable first Safari experience for our honeymoon.

We had a fantastic 3 day Safari in Serengeti and Ngorongoro, both places were great but very different.
Our guide Christian was absolutely superb. He was fun, nice, knowledgeable and not least a good and confident driver in challenging terrain.
He was also very good at finding the animals, so we got to see many different animals even though we only had 3 day Safari.
The lodges we stayed were very good, good standard, good food and nice staff.
We are 100% satisfied with both Soles Safari’s overall organization of the entire trip and their great guide Christian.
Would recommend anyone thinking of going on Safari to book with Soles Safaris and ask for guide Christian.
If I am so lucky to experience and go on Safari in Tanzania again, I book with 100% confidence with Soles Safari.

Innocent was the best driver and guide!!!! We were so sad to leave him at the end of our excursion; he was so friendly and helpful and made us feel like he truly cared about our experience. With Innocent, he ensured we would see the big Five (which was an amazing feat in only 2 1/2 days!), he taught us about his customs and culture, safely and expertly drove during the wet season, and ensured that we were fed ample meals and were taken care of during our overnight stays. By the end of our trip we can honestly say that we made a new friend; he is so fun and easy to get along with! Also he’s a great communicator. I highly recommend Safari Soles to organize your domestic flights and transportation and to find you a guide who loves their job!!!! Happiness was our travel organizer and she helped us choose our stays in Zanzibar and the Mainland and was always available for questions. We loved being able to arrive in Zanzibar for sun and relaxation, and then flying straight into the Serengeti to begin our Safari. Although the Safari ended up being a favorite, we loved being able to relax again on the beach before heading home. This 3-day luxury safari experience was just perfect. We were taken care of every step of the way! (We especially loved our stay at Karibu, Lions Paw!) Be sure to ask for Happiness and Innocent and your travels will be absolutely memorable.

One of the most beautiful experiences ever. I highly recommend this trip. For a complete and unforgettable experience, I recommend choosing to sleep one night in a tented camp and another at a lodge. Although initially we should have slept in another location on the first night, Bryson suggested a small change given the migration of animals and we did not regret it. He also helped us a lot with performing the PCR test required for the return flight. If possible, choose Simba (David) as a guide, a wonderful person, always with a smile on his face and very, very documented in everything that means safari animals, flora, Maasai culture, etc.

Just came back from a three day serengeti-ngorongoro tour with safari soles. We already made plans to come back to Tanzania and book a guided tour with them again, that is how good these guys are.
Booking & Service
The service before and during the booking with Bryson was excellent. His reaction time via whatsapp and email was insanely rapid and things were arranged quick and precise. We could contact him with any question we had. The price is really good in comparison to other tourproviders. All park fees are included. Payment was very easy as well. They provide pick up and drop off at both airports (Arusha and Kilimanjaro) and can arrange an additional accomodation. We did that and it was both very well arranged.
Guide
The tour was guided by Amani, the best guide we ever had. He really made our experience a magical one and worked so hard to let us see all of the big five. He never gave up, even though it was hard to find some animals. But Amani always knows where to look for them and can tell you everything about them. He can even spot animals from miles away. Our group really thought he had a sixth sense for animal seeking, since no animal seems impossible to see for him. His driving skills are amazing and trust me, you need that on the bumpy roads of the serengeti. He speaks English very well and also French. Need a good guide? Definitely ask for him!
Food & Stay
The food, prepared Emanuel (sorry is spelled wrong) was really good and that is quite a prestige in the circumstances of a traveling tour. There was a lot of variety and some for everyone (vegetarian, rice, fruits, bread). Even though the campsites of the government are very basic (we did a camp tour), safari soles does the best they can. Emanuel even brought us warmer sleepingbags since it was really cold. Such a sweetheart.
I would book with these guys each and everytime and are already looking forward to see them again in the future!

Just returned from a week long trip to Tanzania. As a solo/female traveler, I didn't expect to be able to pull of a safari tour on a budget and last minute. Nor did I know when I started planning the trip there were tour companies that would help you find other solo
travelers and/or couples to help share the cost. I was extremely impressed how smooth the tour went in terms of planning and execution, the food, how
many animals I saw, and the great people I met. Tanzania has a well operated safari network and all the guides in the park supported each other. I choose this company since Bryson was straightforward and answered all my questions. I was picked up from the airport on time. Taken to the hotel which is located behind/between a few buildings but had a decent view of some mountains from one side, and the check in was fast and easy. After breakfast the next morning, I paid for the remainder of my tour before heading off on a three day jammed packed tour full of animal sightseeing. The car was extremely comfortable, even with six people, which I was concerned about since I knew we would spend most our day in it and the idea of a seven hour plus ride seemed daunting (but it ended up being fun). I choose the budget camp site accommodations and enjoyed the experience. We did stay at another hotel after sightseeing the second night. In the park, one camp site had WiFi and both camps had electricity, restrooms, and showers. The tents were comfortable, but obviously very basic in comparison to the glamming experience. The guide and chef that accompanied the group were accommodating and friendly. I have food allergies and was surprised at the amount of options I had at each meal. The food was good and I enjoyed the wine at dinner. Although, most things were inclusive, I would suggest keeping US currency for tip at the end of the tour and to buy small things. Bryson answered all of my questions and helped plan an amazing trip. Also, saw all of the big five. If you are considering booking the trip, do it with confidence.

The organisation from Catherine was amazing and she answered all my questions prior to and after booking the trip. I chose the trip basically due to TA reviews and Catherine’s helpful advice.
Our guide Estomii, made us feel relaxed and confident with him from the off. He took exceptionally good care of us throughout our trip and his knowledge and love for the animals was contagious! A company is only as good as the people them employ and Estomii and Catherine are great assets to the company.
Note pay by bank transfer not by card as we paid 4% extra which the owner could have reminded us of prior to arrival at the airport.
Absolutely loved the tented lodge! Favourite of all our trip just wished we’d had longer to stay there.
I’m a coeliac and I was catered for very well by the hotels and Estomii.
Keep was kept very clean , was well equipped and gave us a fantastic African massage!
If Estomii is your guide you will be well looked after.

Our Safari trip to Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater Tanzania, Africa
The trip that was planned was well organized and executed with no issues. l Our guide who went by the name Innocent Rick was outstanding. From the moment that we met, he was a true gentleman. When we first met him, Innocent Rick, welcomed us with open arms and made us feel so comfortable within a few moments. His English was well spoken along with the knowledge , down to the smallest details, and through his experience gave us the full enlighten safari tour. His timing was impeccable , we always seemed to be in the right and at the right time.
We were able to get some wonderful pictures along with pure fond memories and even a few good laughs being with him.
Thank You Martina and Mark

We went on this safari with Estomih. Wow. What a trip. Estomih was an extraordinary guide, the lodging was excellent, we saw more animals than we could have imagined, including all of the Big Five. We could hear lions roaring in the morning the first day! Would strongly recommend this company — ask for Estomih to be your guide!!!

Hello we are a family with 3 adults and an 8 year old child. I would be interested in the pick-up location or meeting point for the start and end of the trip. So that I can plan flight and directions. I am also interested in the lodge, what does that mean as accommodation? Do you have any pictures of it? Thanks in advance
