What is Travellers’ Choice?
Tripadvisor gives a Travellers’ Choice award to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travellers and are ranked within the top 10% of properties on Tripadvisor.
3 Days Itinerary is the best for acclimatization prior to Kilimanjaro climbing; It is the third highest peak in Africa and is the second-highest Peak in Tanzania at 4,568m. The mountain is located within Tanzania’s gem. The prime location gives trekkers the chance to spot some of the wildlife that inhabits the area. Ascend is quite steep, the route to the summit passes over streams, through parkland, montane forest, a giant heather zone, and moorland. Summit is reached by a narrow, barren ridge, which provides stunning views of the Ash Cone lying several thousand feet below in the crater.

          Safari and Kilimanjaro
Meru slopes is a great choice for budget experience as nothing felt budget. Almacius was very responsive and answered all our questions before the trip and customised our trip according to our wishes. Safari: Safari experience was amazing. Our driver/guide Andrew is a real professional! Great attitude, very organised, knows so much about animals and local vegetation. His eyesight is insane, he spored animals so far away and animals that very hiding very well. Our chef Gidion always prepared something new and so delicious. Also he has amazing attitude and created always fun and light atmosphere. Guys took amazing care of us. The best! Kilimanjaro: Well it was just simply dream come true. During hard times our guides Kennedy and Julius made sure not just for us to stay safe but also keep us in the best mood possible. They adjusted hiking speed according to out capabilities. They kept good company as well! Every evening we had briefings that made sure we prepared for the next day. Also wow, Kennedy knows so much about Kilimanjaro wild life and vegetation. Was super interesting to learn about this wonderful place! Also our chef cooked epic meals and every dish was different. What strikes me the most, that we were worried about the amount of food that will be available to us, so we took lots of protein bars, but wow, there was so much food we had to ask to cook less as we simply cannot eat that much. Did not touch my protein bars at all. Thanks guys! Some negatives: Although experience was really good, I think its important to note few things. In our offer it was said that local sim car is included so we could have internet and etc. We did not get them. When we asked for it, there was always something - oh do you really need it for Kilimanjaro. Oh well sim card guy is somewhere, so if you want you can wait for an hour or more till he is back, but will go to Safari later in this case. However in these days its super easy and cheap to get e-sim, so just get one and there will be no problem. Another thing to note, be aware of the tipping! Even tho the offer mentions it, the description is not accurate at all. So just read on it, there is a lot of information on how much and to whom.

          Aventura y profesionalidad
Booking with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris through Jerome was a good idea for a great adventure. Juma, our guide who spoke Spanish, made the safari an unforgettable experience. I am not a tent-dweller, but choosing this type of accommodation made me feel very integrated in the Serengeti and Norongoro parks where we lived authentic adventures. From the first contact with Jerome and after the development of the Safari I can only thank him for his treatment, including the stays in his hotel in Arusha. The only thing to be criticized was that the contract mentions tips for the guide but omits those for the cook Gari, which caused a small conflict among the group. Otherwise everything was fine, although the extension in Zanzibar with another member of the organization, a certain Dankanya, was not at all pleasant and I felt that he always wanted to cheat me. He asked us for 100 dollars each person to take us to Kuza Cave, which was only 15 minutes from our accommodation, when the entrance only cost 10 dollars. This was a very unpleasant experience and above all I do not recommend it.

          Fantastic Kilimanjaro Experience
We have made with Meru Slopes a private 6 days UMBWE-Kilimanjaro Tour. From the first quote to the fairwell after the trip they did a great job. We have been in advance informed about the trip, requirements and what to take with us. After pick up from the airport we started our ascent at UMBWE Gate. We were 3 guest and did receive 2 guides, 1 cook and 10 porters. Provided Equipment: Meru Slopes was providing tents, sleeping bags, walking sticks and matress. Food: Meals are taken in a Mess Tent were the serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. All meals were excellent and of a great variaty and taste, Francis the cook was unbelieveble in creating diferent dinners at always excellent level. Guides: Silvery our main guide was always taking care of us. Every evening oxygen was measured and a short description about the next day was made. During the trek he was taking care to have the best pace that gets us to the summit. Overall I can strongly recomend this Meru Slopes and Silvery our guide for going to the Kilimanjaru.

Experienced driver is the key to Serengeti
In the vast and beautiful place like Serengeti, it is crucial to be in the right place at the right time. Or driver Mohamed magically brought us to the right spot every time something exciting was about to happen, and then other groups would join later as well. Find professional driver like him, and you'll see the best that Serengeti has to offer.

A Perfect Choice for Our First Safari Adventure
At this moment, I am back home with a joyful heart, ready to pen down this heartfelt review for our 6-Day Big Five Mid-Range Safari to Tanzania. Before our trip, we compared several tour companies on Safaribookings and finally chose Meru Slope. Looking back, selecting Meru Slope as our guide for our first African safari was the best decision we could have made. From the beginning, Manager Almachius made us feel at ease with his timely responses on WhatsApp, answering all our questions. Upon our arrival, he personally greeted us at the hotel, thoroughly explaining the itinerary. On the last day of our journey, Almachius came to the hotel to see us off, which deeply touched us. This personal warmth made us feel like we had a true friend in Tanzania, not just a service provider. Our safari guide, Mr. Florian, was incredibly patient, professional, and friendly. With his extensive knowledge of safari wildlife and excellent driving skills, he accompanied us on our four-day safari. Thanks to his experience, we spotted the Big Five on the vast plains of the Serengeti and captured many breathtaking moments. By the way, Florian has an amazing Samsung phone that takes much clearer photos than iPhones—so much so that I borrowed it to take some pictures! Florian also answered all our questions about the safari with great expertise. Moreover, he was thoughtful enough to remember our favorite vegetables, ensuring that every picnic was filled with fresh and delicious meals. A special shout-out goes to the warm, friendly, and energetic Victor, who waited two hours to pick us up at the airport on the first day. Despite the delay, he greeted us with a big smile, played great music in the car, and kept us entertained with his fun questions. His enthusiasm for his work was contagious. On the last day, Victor took us to Moshi Town, where we admired the pristine beauty of Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peak. He also introduced us to Tanzania’s hidden treasure—a dreamy natural blue forest pool. There, we even enjoyed a unique fish massage, which truly made our day! Every day, the accommodations and meals were excellent. We especially loved Arusha Planet Lodge and Embalakai Ngorongoro Camp. The former felt like a garden retreat in Bali, while the latter, situated between a Maasai village and an acacia forest, offered both cultural richness and breathtaking wildlife views. We spotted groups of giraffes surrounding the campground and that was a legit Alice wonderland. The staff were incredibly friendly, the rooms were spotless, and the location was simply magical. We wish we could have stayed there longer! Finally, a huge thank you to Victor, Florian, and Almachius for making our Tanzanian journey unforgettable. Meru Slope provided us with not just a safari, but a once-in-a-lifetime adventure filled with memories to cherish forever. We wholeheartedly recommend Meru Slope to anyone considering a trip to Tanzania. Best wishes for your continued success!

          18 day private safari
We spent 18 days with the Meru slopes guides and enjoyed every minute. Noru and Nixon took us to the Chemka hot springs, the coffee tour and the hike to the falls, and a walk through Arusha markets. Very nicely done, informative and interesting. Also saw the African art gallery, which should not be missed. Jacob took us on through the Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater. A joy to visit with and very capable as a guide. Saw all the animals we expected to see. Very close to the vehicle. Included nice places to stay at the bush camps. Will definitely plan to do this again. Wonderful

I was really pleased I went with Meru Slopes. Great guides, great food, and good camps. The guides went to great effort for us to see everything. I was also very impressed with the communication from Meru Slopes. A big thank you to Jerome who communicated promptly over email and met me on the first day of the tour.

Heartfelt Thanks for an Unforgettable Safari
Dear Meru Slopes Team and Almachius, Please accept our sincerest gratitude for organizing such a fantastic safari experience for us. Almachius was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process. He patiently addressed all our queries and effortlessly customized the itinerary to perfectly align with our preferences, including our dietary needs (vegan). The 6-day safari itself was truly exceptional. A special thanks to our driver and guide, Jacob. His expertise in wildlife spotting ensured we encountered incredible sightings, and his friendly and accommodating nature made the entire journey a pleasure. The night safari at Tarangire is a MUST DO for its awesome experience. We are incredibly grateful to Almachius and a big shout out to Jacob for making this trip so memorable. Book the tour. You won’t regret it.
The most amazing safari tour. We saw them all, the big five, the beautiful five, the ugly five and so much more. We were on the six days small group trip covering Tarangiri, Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater and lake Manyara. Serengeti and Ngorongoro being the highlights. We stayed to nights in lodge and tre nights camping which was perfect to get the real Safari feeling. The biggest asanta sana to our guide Lobulu and our chef Dulla who made sure bothe the game drives and everything else was perfect. I can highly recommend Maru Slopes as tour operator.

Superb experience along the Lemonosho traverse lead by Kenedy and Julius
A great experience of hiking the Lemonosho traverse with head guide Kenedy and second guide Julius. Perfect choice of route and camps to stay at. A few challenging hikes combined with “rest” days of small hikes, all finished with the big one - the climb to Uhuru peak. Great support given by the guides on the way up, alongside mentioning quite a few facts and trivia about our surroundings. All the crew were extremely supportive as well - we never felt like any need is not accounted for. Had a very fun week, throughout all the challenges - would highly recommend and I’d personally plan a different route with the same team again.

Excellent safari trip with Meru Slopes
We decided to go on a safari tour and after doing some recommendation checkups through the internet decided to go with Meru Slopes. from the beginning they were really communicative and helpful. Almachius answered all my questions and helped with the trip itinerary. We were picked up by Nuru, our guide, from Arusha airport and driven straight to the safari. The safari was wonderful and Nuru was excellent!!!! he is really a great guide. he is very knowledgeable about the animals, their habitat and the surroundings. He knew to spot animals from a very long way away and also to bring us in really near so we can see up close. We got to see a lot of animals (including all the big 5). It was like being part of a national geographic series :-) When ever we were on a game drive we got to have the roof up so we can stand in the jeep looking out and taking pictures. The weather was for most of the time great. just the occasional rain. The lodges we stayed at were great and our packed lunches were good (btw i am Celiac and Nuru made quite sure that the food was ok for me to eat. we had a lot of rice and curry which was really tasty. also note for Celiacs - most chefs don't understand that Soya contains wheat so just remember to tell them this) The safari was planned really well and the 4 days just flew by, and except for a couple of hiccups along the way everything went really smoothly and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. it was all i had hoped for and much much more :-) I really recommend going with Meru Slopes and don't forget to ask for Nuru to be your guide :-)

A dream come true! Special shoutout to our guide
Our safari experience was truly unforgettable, thanks to our guide/driver Mohammed/Muddy, who went above and beyond to ensure we had an incredible adventure. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he prioritised our interests, going the extra mile to help us spot every animal on our list—and even more. From a cheetah sprinting directly behind our vehicle to two lionesses with their cubs strolling beside us, and a pride of lions with one lioness feasting on a fresh wildebeest, every moment was breathtaking. He also treated us to rare sights like leopards and lionesses perched in trees and gave us a front-row seat to the awe-inspiring wildebeest migration. His deep knowledge of the region and its wildlife was remarkable, and he answered every question we had with patience and insight. While the vehicle could use some upgrades, this in no way detracted from the excellent service provided by our guide. His dedication and expertise made this an experience of a lifetime. Highly recommended!

Geofrey was really responsive and helpful with organizing the trip which made things easy for us especially now travelling in the COVID days.
William was our Mountain guide, he was really helpful, patient and positive with us.. I definitely recommend Meru slopes who were actually recommended to me by a friend who did safari with them.

My husband and I are beginners and this is only our second trek, we had four porters and one chef (governmen regulations for Arusha park to probably help the economy). I must say not carrying our bags helped alot as the trek was very challenging especially to do it in 3 days.. We unfortunately couldn't make it to Big Meru, we tried but I got scared with the rain and slippery rocks and decided to only hike upto Little Meru instead which for us was really lovely.
I think it is essential to highlight that this trek is not for beginners..it is doable for beginners upto Little Meru but not Big Meru.. and it would be good to add a fourth day for the decend as from the groups I met on the way, no one could walk all the way down from Big Meru to Momella gate on the same day (12-14 hours).

Apart from that everything was smooth and flexible with our level of fitness as we changed the trekking plan.. and the food was great as well as the porters support. Asante Sana

I highly recommend this trip to anyone who loves to hike, especially to those who are looking for a hike shorter than Kilimanjaro summit while still able to fit in a Safari (we did 3 days Mt. Meru, 5 days Safari, 4 days Zanzibar). Mount Meru in general was awesome - intense climbs, the most magical daybreak we’ve ever seen overlooking Kilimanjaro at the summit, and excellent accommodations at the hut. But I also have to give a big shoutout to Meru Slopes as a tour operator. Jerome was extremely professional and responsive to all of my questions about what to pack, airport logistics, and meals. And our guides Paul and Jonah were excellent, especially in helping to get us to the summit just before sunrise for the best moment of the trip. Jacob was an A+ chef, taking care to accommodate my wife’s celiac disease (his soups were unreal!). And the Porter team was friendly and so impressively surefooted ascending and descending the mountain, ensuring our camp was stocked well before we arrived each day. Excellent experience with this company.

I had a great experience on this 3-day-trip with meru slopes. For me it was the First time hiking Mountains for more than 1 day but I am doing a lot of other sports at Home. Spoiler: I would probably recommend the 4 day Tour for people with similiar precondition. Anyway, the Guys we're taking care of me very well. Paul was a great Guide, Briefing me one day before (e.g. checking If my clothes are warm enough etc.) what Made me feel really comfortable. The whole Team of porters and cook did a Well Job, arrived at the huts before me and prepared always delicious (vegetarian) food. I really Liked the huts - anyway there is for sure No hot shower haha. Big thanks to the Team that I did it to the summit before sunrise - Paul was carrying my Backpack as my energy Level went down!! Lovely

Conclusion: absolutely overwhelming but dont underestimade the Tour - its pretty tough or Go for 4 days 😀
