        Very enjoyable experience
Jackson was a great host it took a couple of hours to drive into the Bwandi National Park to check in for the Gorilla trekking from my accommodation and Jackson was informative, easy to talk to and accommodating. It was a joy learning about Uganda and the area while driving through the stunning landscapes.. and of course the Gorilla tour was tops there was a real sense of adventure slashing through the bush and the guides and trackers ran a very professional operation.

        Best Gorilla Trip EVER
The whole trip was organised by Great Lakes Safaris Ltd Kampala and they did a magnificent job customising an itinerary specific to our requirements. All of the aspects were great and worked perfectly and the best part was the role of our guide Paul Ochan. He was there from start to finish making sure we never had to ask for anything by his anticipation of our needs and putting things in place before we knew we needed them. His knowledge of the country, local contacts and wildlife was encyclopaedic. His ability to drive on bumpy dirt tracks through game parks and still point out animals that we missed using binoculars was astounding. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is home to around 50% (around 500) individuals of the remaining Mountain Gorilla population and at around half the cost of neighbouring Rwanda is a great choice. We had 2 treks from Buhoma, the 2nd day showed us what a normal quiet day of eating and lazing is like for a Gorilla family and we got far closer than I ever expected. The first day was totally different and the Ranger Joshua said he had been waiting for years to get such an exciting viewing. The family we tracked "Katwe" had 2 Silverbacks, unusually, plus a selection of juveniles, babies and females. What no one had predicted was that a 3rd Silverback from a different family chose that day to try and steal one of the Females and this resulted in massive drama, confrontation and noise including roars, charges and chest thumping with the Gorillas ignoring our 8m distance restriction and barrelling right past our legs. Even with the conflict they were involved with there was no hint of animosity towards the humans, but it took strong nerves to heed the ranger's advice of "stand still, you will be fine" with a 450lb Silverback charging his rival less than 3 foot away. Whilst it can require a 4+ hour journey to reach the Gorillas, we were luck to have less that an hours trek on both days. The other animal encounters were superb as well, seeing lions withing 10 ft; Bull elephant chasing us for 1/2mile to get us off "his" track; Leopard in a tree; chimps acting like a gang of teenagers, and close encounters with all the other iconic species. We even saw a Serval cat (really rare). The lodges were all very good and staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough to help you. I have to give pride of place to Primate Lodge in Kibale. Beautiful setting and facilities, with a bid shout out to Vincent for faultless service and lovely morning wake up singing (so much better than an alarm). Also the chef produced the best fish & chips I have EVER had - tilapia in herb tempura batter. Mouthwatering!! We used UK company Audley Travel to coordinate the process and they were up to their normal high standard. However, 5* award of the trip goes to Paul Ochan, if you are planning a Gorilla Safari try and get him as your guide :) :)

We were on a private trip specially tailored by Jackson 2 days before we got started. Gordon was our excellent driver and outstandingly skilled guide. We enjoyed every minute of this thrilling trip across QENP, Kibale NP, Murchison Falls and White Rhino Sanctuary. Accomodations were proper and left nothing to be desired.

        Amazing Gorilla Trek
Had an amazing time on this Trek. My amazing guide Gordon picked me up in Kigali and drove us to Bwindi. Along the way we stopped for lunch and Gordon told us about the Volcanoes and parks, and about the country. When we arrived to Bwindi the hotel was beautiful. The next day I did my Gorilla trek Gordon helped organize everything and we saw not one but three gorilla families, it was spectacular. This trip was an experience of a lifetime and I recommend it to anyone who can do it.

Amazing! 10/10. Trip of a lifetime.
I wish I could adequately put into words how incredible this trip was - I doubt I can, but I will try. For context, I have traveled in a variety of fashions and levels of comfort/luxury in > 40 countries. I've done weekend trips and trips that last many months. This 5 day trip ranks near the top of all of those trips, and there is no doubt that this was due to the incredibly competent Jackson from Bwindi Mountain Gorilla Trekking Tours. I selected the 5 day Rwanda/Uganda trip to Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth. I chose the mid-luxury accommodations. Jackson's price was lower than all competitors and in addition he provided me a private vehicle with himself as a guide (other tours offered to mix me with other tour groups, budget accommodations, and at a higher cost). The trip was a 10/10 and I will only travel in Rwanda or Uganda with Jackson in the future. Specifics are below. Pre-planning and payment: fast and clear communication, easy payment with quick confirmation. Pick-up: Jackson offered pick up at a hotel or airport in Kigali. I believe you can also start off from Kampala or Entebbe if you request to do so. Vehicle: Full Toyota tour van to myself with pop-up safari roof (ample luggage room for multiple people, perfect for safari photography). Accommodations: I stayed at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge in Bwindi and Elephant Hab in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Both were outstanding and would be considered 4 or 5 stars by US standards. The staff were extremely attentive and caring and all were interested in my having a great experience. I was given premiere rooms facing the parks at both locations (see photos) Food: The food at the lodges was delicious and modifications were made per my requests. I had steak at Bwindi (in the middle of a national forest) that matched steak that one would have at a nice steakhouse in a US city. The food for lunch on the road was also tasty and never gave my stomach any issues. I told Jackson that I wanted to eat some karo (soft Ugandan dough-like bread made from millet) and Jackson made sure that I had some the next day. The guide: Jackson is exceptionally thoughtful, caring, and plans all aspects of the trip. He also is able to modify the trip to suit your needs. For an example of his character, I had an unusual health need arise during the trip (needed two rabies vaccines, no fault of the trip, stray dog issues can arise on any trip) and required two separate doses of vaccine in shot form on two different days. Jackson arranged for a doctor to visit me at the lodge on both occasions and they provided the medication in the lodge. I didn't have to go to a clinic and wait or search for a doctor. He completely took the stress of the situation away from me so I could enjoy the trip. Apart from this, he is very knowledgeable about the area, wildlife, and guides without being intrusive. He knows when to let you enjoy the scenery and when to offer information. Finally, he threw in some surprise stops on the trip that were jaw-dropping (crater lakes for example). I could go on and on. You can not go wrong booking with Jackson and Bwindi Mountain Gorilla Trekking Tours. Thanks, Jackson!

        Incredible , exceeded my expectations
Jackson was nothing short of incredible ! I told him what I wanted and he made a self made itinerary for me which was better than I could have imagined ! He is 100% fluent in English and cares so much about your experience over a few extra bucks ! I came to Uganda to see the gorillas , chimpanzees , game drives and other wildlife and an unusual request to look for snakes which I love ! He went out of his way and put me in touch with guides who specialised in snakes and everyday I could go out as long or as short as I wanted ! He would ask me were the snake guides competent enough which showed me he really cared and was always looking to improve! The itinerary was flexible if I changed my mind or wanted to see something else! The different wildlife I seen was really insane! I definitely wouldn’t have had such an amazing experience if it wasn’t for Jackson and I will definitely be visiting him again for a trip !

3-day gorilla trekking in Uganda from Kigali
We had a great experience. Jackson was very organized and professional, and his English is very good. He listened to our needs and planned the trip accordingly. We stayed at the Rushaga Gorilla Camp right on the edge of Bwindi Impenatrable Forest and trekked the gorillas in the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. He chose a trek that corresponded perfectly to our physical capacities and to our desire to bird watch along the way. We also got to visit a small, family run coffee plantation in Kisoro and had a beautiful drive along windy, mountain roads to Lake Muhinga with the volcanoes in the background.

        Fantastic trip - highly recommended!
Jackson arranged a 5 day trip for me, collected me from Kigali and ensured that everything on the trip was the best it could be. Jackson was always available via WhatsApp in the run up to the trip and proved to be an extremely knowledgable and expert guide through the amazing national parks in Uganda. I have no hesitation in recommending Jackson and his company - you are in good hands!

Unbelievable best experience of my life magical
The mountain gorilla trek is magical and so peaceful. It’s expensive but worth it. We had 1 hour with these beautiful creatures. We felt 100% safe. The jungle was misty, birds were singing. The Gorillas were plentiful (24) and all around. It’s not an easy tour. It was a 2 hour hike in thru thick bush if you ever get the chance DO IT they come close to you
