About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 859farahm0 contributionsBeyond our expectations! We did a 10-day tour with Lulu Safaris covering Masai Mara (Kenya), Serengeti (Tanzania), Rwanda, and Gorilla Trek (Uganda). The entire trip went extremely well and smoothly. All meals, transport, and park fees were included, along with knowledgeable guides, so we had literally nothing to worry about! Here are detailed reviews for each destination: Masai Mara, Kenya The safari in Masai Mara was probably the highlight of our tour. We saw all the animals and everything there was to see in just one day! We had Tony as our guide, and he was beyond amazing. He was fun, knowledgeable, and very thorough. You can tell that he is passionate about his job and will go above and beyond in everything he does. Thanks, Tony, for making this trip fantastic! The Jeep was also well-maintained and clean. Serengeti, Tanzania We drove to Serengeti, which took about 9 hours from Masai Mara due to the border being far away. Nevertheless, the safari there was also fantastic. We saw all the Big 5 in Tanzania. However, keep in mind that the Serengeti is much bigger than Masai Mara, so there is slightly more driving involved. We had Roger as our driver. He was very sweet and caring, always keeping the car clean with drinks topped up and making an effort to engage with us during dinner and breakfast. The accommodation we had in Serengeti was beyond our expectations. It was a luxury tent in the middle of the park! Thanks, Elvis, for organizing a great stay. Rwanda/Uganda We flew into Rwanda and then drove to Uganda for the Gorilla Trek. The trip was well thought out, and we had some form of activity each day until the trek. The Gorilla Trek was amazing, but it does require a good level of fitness to complete! We were lucky to have met Smith on our last day. Smith went above and beyond with his service in just six hours. He stopped at many places along the way and took great care of us until we got to the airport! Guides like Smith and Tony honestly make trips so wholesome and fun! Highly recommend both of them! Lastly, we want to thank Elvis for his patience. Initially, we were a bit doubtful about the trip due to a lack of communication. Elvis would always take action on our requests, but we didn’t get confirmation at first. After expressing our concerns, we reached out to Elvis through WhatsApp, and he was super responsive. He answered every question and ensured we felt safe throughout the trip. We had issues with paying Elvis, and even then, he never bothered us. Instead, he insisted we enjoy the trip first. I’ve never met a service provider as trusting as Elvis! Thank you, Elvis, for making our trip wonderful!Written 7 October 2024
- Trek296816509180 contributionsAmazing 4 days experience in Africa!!We booked the 4 days tour gorilla trekking, which included the golden monkey, gorilla trekking and game drive in lake mboro. We had an amazing experience Smith its a very knowledgeable guy, he is very social guy, literally knows everything and everyone in Uganda and Rwanda! The accommodation we had throughout the trip were amazing, breathtaking views and in the middle of the nature!!Written 7 October 2024
- emilyaK6692RG0 contributionsAmazing experienceSuper recommend lulu safari We had an amazing experience with our tour guide Smith who treated us really well and made us feel at home during the whole trip Attended to all of our request, good quality hotel , amazing experience all of the four daysWritten 7 October 2024
- Jaryd C0 contributionsOrganised operator, excellent guides!I chose Lulu after shopping around a bit and finding that they were well priced and, importantly, incredibly responsive. I chatted to Elvis on WhatsApp and he very quickly prepared detailed itinerary documentation based on my needs, including a few iterations. From an excellent start, the tour itself only gets better. I meet my two guides, Simon and Simon Peter in Kasese. They have just such a great energy. I honestly cannot recommend them enough. The vehicle is clean and comfortable. Over the next 6 days we have such great adventures. Each of the activities was so much fun. The chimp and gorilla trekking delivered in spades. All the time my guides are keeping me informed on the natural and cultural phenomena of Uganda. When we share meals (I was travelling solo, so very happy for the company!) we laugh and joke and just have such a great time. At every point Simon and Simon Peter make sure I’m comfortable, have what I need, and am well informed about the plan for each day. They are both professional and personable - and I’m happy to call them good friends after our time spent together. Overall, I would happily book again with Lulu. They were fantastic :)Written 3 October 2024
- SophiaJMsW0 contributionsAmazing adventureToday we finished an amazing adventure with Smith, our fabulous guide. He picked us up in Kigal. The main items on our itinerary were Volcanoes National Park for Golden Monkey trekking, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for Gorilla trekking and Lake Bunyonyi. We also visited Gorilla Guardians Village for the cultural experience to learn a little about history and customs of Rwanda. Everything was wonderful! Smith is an excellent guide, very upbeat and informative. He is also an excellent driver. We covered a lot of miles over the five days and I didn’t feel nervous once, even on high winding roads. Smith took us to a Kabale market and also to work a little in a garden in Kabale. It was very special! I organized this trip from Canada through Elvis using email and WhatsApp. Everything was perfect. The three lodges where we stayed were beautiful. Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Highly recommend Lulu Safaris and Smith!Written 28 September 2024
- beaalopez260 contributionsVisiting the Pearl of Africa from the jewel’s hands! Our tour with Lulu has been great. We’ve been a total of 12 days with them, both in Uganda and Rwanda. We started our trip from Entebbe-Jinja, and then Murchison Falls, Kibale, Queen Elisabeth, Ishasha, Bwindi and Kigali. We had the pleasure to have Derrick as our guide. He’s a lovely person, very knowledgeable and attentive to details. He always had the right answer for any curiosity we had, he also constantly commented whatever we could see on the way and also asked about our needs to make a stop constantly. He really gave a very personal touch during our trip, and made it extremely special. He also taught us some hints of the local language! All lodges were carefully selected together, and the experience was overall very good. There were minor issues in some of them like no hot water or good conexion, but it is what it is, they were in very remote locations. Need to highligh that Elvis, the owner, was 24/7 available on whatsapp for any concern we might have on our way. We’ve been lucky to discover Uganda from Lulu’s & specially Derrick’s hands. We can truly say now it is the Pearl of Africa, it offers many diff activities: safari, gorilla & chimps trecks, city tours, rafting, communities visit… We can state we came back with our hearts fulfilled and all desires accomplished. Thank you so much Derrick & Elvis, hope to travel with you guys again!Written 30 August 2024
- Carlosborreguero110 contributionsFully commited with customer satisfaction!Lulu safaris provides a end-to-end experience for your trip with total dedication to customer satisfaction during our 12-days tour in Uganda and Rwanda. Our guide Derrick, is the perfect example of a great professional, with high knowledge and full dedication to making us feel at home.Written 30 August 2024
- D3535FJannad0 contributionsAmazing trip!We had an amazing time on our 4 day tour with Lulu Safaris. Elvis organized the trip and everything went as expected for lodging and for the gorilla trek and golden monkeys. The only minor issue was that sometimes we had to send multiple emails before he responded. We also want to give 5 stars to our tour guide/driver Samuel. He has a very welcoming personality and it was clear that he loves being a tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and pointed out many interesting things during our long drives. He is also a very skilled and safe driver, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our trip.Written 29 August 2024
- V8477DFbenjaminc0 contributions4- day Monkey and Gorilla Trekking (highly recommend)I went on the 4-day Rwanda-Uganda Golden Monkey and Gorilla Trekking expedition. It was one of the best and most memorable experiences of my life. From start-to-finish, I was so impressed with Lulu Safaris- from the great communication, to the thoughtful planning of each day, to the care of the team on the ground. My guide, Derrick, did an amazing job making sure that I was comfortable and that each stop was perfectly scheduled. He was also very knowledgeable about the region and could answer all my questions. I could not recommend Lulu Safaris enough! Elvis (who runs Lulu Safaris) was great to work with and has done a phenomenal job planning expeditions. I was traveling solo and inevitably had some worries, however, Elvis took the time to ensure that I was comfortable and safe with the itinerary. If I go back to East Africa, I would certainly use Lulu Safaris again. Trips Details: - Visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial - Saw Golden Monkeys in Rwanda - Trekked in Uganda to see mountain gorillas (in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park- the premier park to see mountain gorillas) -Visited and stayed on Lake Bunyonyi -All food and accommodations were great!Written 21 August 2024

- cezannef20240 contributionsTotally recommend, great experience!Did a 2-day tour with Simon and Alan to Murchison Falls. They both were awesome and went out of their way to ensure it was an amazing experience. They took care of everything, including so many little details that I wasn't expecting but really made the trip special. Simon has a vast knowledge of Murchison, and has contacts all throughout the park, he even arranged for my bf to have a cold Nile beer while on a boat-cruise on the Nile :-) I will definitely contact Lulu Safaris next time I'm in East Africa and will request Simon and Alan!Written 16 August 2024
- Paradise621109540670 contributionsAmazing Bwindi Gorilla experienceWe did the 4 day Gorilla trekking trip that started in Rwanda with a visit to Akagera National Park and then headed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for our Gorilla experience. The trekking was an amazing experience in it self. What a beautiful rain forest. Spending time with the Gorilla family was the highlight of the trip. Smith was our driver and guide and was very good and knowledgeable. Accommodation and food was very good. We will strongly recommend them.Written 12 August 2024

The hotels were good. Lulu Safaris took care of every single detail. We also had the privilege of having King Charles as our guide during these days. He is a real King . He knows everything about Uganda and shares his knowledge with kindness He was very patient and sweet. Thank you, Charles and Lulu Safaris for a week we will never forget. Hope we come back soon for more adventuresWritten 25 July 2024
- wesleysY4605VD0 contributionsGreat trip, best guideMy husband and I had an unforgettable gorilla safari experience with lulu safari uganda. The sights and accomodations exceeded our expectations, but what made it a 5 star experience was the friendliness and generosity of our guide, Smith. Not only was he knowledgeable, he seemed to know everyone in the communities we toured through and made us feel safe and welcomed. Smith is a bright young man with a genuine love for tourism, and it showed in our 4 days with him.Written 18 July 2024

If we put together an ultimate wish list before we went, we couldn’t have begun to imagine how much this would beat anything we could have wished for.
It all starts with the communication between ourselves and the Lulu Safaris team. Elvis answered every question and query thoughtfully and promptly, regardless of the day or time. He adjusted the plans and tailored them to meet our interests, which meant we included everything we hoped to (and more!)
Upon arrival in Rwanda, we were met by our guide for the duration of the trip, Charles. Wow, how lucky were we!
Warm, funny, helpful, knowledgable, there’s so much we could say about Charles, the King of safaris.
Charles was there every step of the way, helping us and listening to our interests and making it happen. Even though we definitely made him work very hard (day safari, night safari, and then repeat and repeat again) and there was little time for rest, he was always smiling and happy. Thank you Charles for enabling us to cram in everything we wanted. If you prefer a slower pace to us, this would most certainly be catered for too.
From an incredible gorilla trek where we came face to face, to a sleeping leopard right before us. With animals on the road as we drove, and beautiful sites during boat cruises. Walking safaris, golden monkey treking, chimpanzees and even reaching the equator point - we couldn’t have ever hoped for more.
Stunning views, wonderful lodges with the most incredible and friendly staff who became like friends, tasty food and a whole lot of photography.
We were fortunate to visit both Rwanda and Uganda on this trip. Both are beautiful places and we felt very welcome and safe. Most of our trip was in Uganda and we were so lucky to be able to explore the various landscapes and jewels that Uganda has to offer. Charles showed us these with pride which added even more to the experience.
Thank you and thank you again to Charles and the Lulu Safaris team for making this trip of a lifetime give us the goal of returning when we can.

Lulu Safaris is an amazing tour company. We are a group of 4 (2 couples) who did a 11 day tour with Lulu Safaris across Uganda. My friend and I planned an exhaustive itinerary and shared it with Elvis. He gave suggestions and various options w.r.t the order of game drives, night safari options, hotel/lodge recommendations, etc. The conversations with him over Whatsapp were very easy and it felt he understood our requirements really well. All communications were in English.
Our itinerary:
Day 1: Start from Kampala at 7AM - Ziva Rhino sanctuary - Lunch - Murchison Top of the Falls - Stay at Heritage Safari Lodge
Day 2: Morning game drive - nile Boat ride - Stay at Heritage Safari Lodge
Day 3: Morning game drive - travel to kibale - Stay at Kibale Nature Camp
Day 4: Chimpanzee habituation experience (4 hours) - Relax - Stay at Kibale Nature Camp
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP) Morning Game drive - Evening Game drive - Stay at Lake Munyanyage Resort
Day 6: (QENP) Morning Lion Tracking Experience (Highly Recommend) - Kazinga Channel - Night Game Drive - Stay at Lake Munyanyage Resort
Day 7: Lion tracking in Ishasha sector - Night drive - Stay at Enjojo Safari Lodge
Day 8: Ishasha Sector - Stay at Rushaga Gorilla Camp
Day 9: Gorilla Tracking Experience at Rushaga - Stay at Rushaga Gorilla Camp
Day 10: Rushaga Gorilla Camp - Mburo - Stay at Kigarama Wilderness Lodge
Day 11: Mburo Walking Safari - Equator - Entebbe Airport Drop
Quality of service: Our tour guide, Samuel is a wonderful human being. From the time he picked us up at the airport to the time he dropped us off at the airport, Samuel took great care of our group. He patiently answered all our questions (we asked a lot) and made sure we got food on time, restroom breaks, took care of our belongings at every stop and made sure our overall experience was first class. He provided a lot of information w.r.t game drives in Uganda and the various scenarios one could experience w.r.t animal encounters. Within a day or two, he understood our group dynamics and worked very well with all of us. He has more than a decade worth of experience and one could tell.
One of our members is a vegetarian and they ensured there were vegetarian options for every meal. They also planned a birthday surprise for my friend by coordinating with the hotel on that day.
Value for money: We compared quite a few tour operators before selecting Lulu. They were a nice balance between comfort, flexibility and cost effectiveness.
Though we saw a huge variety of animals and birds, I've added only a select few photos in this review. The parks in Uganda have a lot to offer.
Overall, Elvis and Samuel were proactive with timely updates on our requests during the trip. If you are booking with Lulu Safaris, ask for Samuel.
