- janavM8511GA0 contributionsDriver Ali, trip to DubaiWe wanted to visit Dubai, so we decided to book a private driver: we got 10 hours, taking in account that the drive to Dubai is about 1h and back too. Our driver was Ali and we are extremely pleased with his service: he took us to the Gold Souk were he showed us trusted shops and then we drove around Dubai as he showed us the popular places. We finalised our tour at the Dubai Mall from where we drove back to our hotel. The car had a refreshing AC and water available at all times. Thank you, we are very pleased.Written 4 September 2023

- 431stephenj0 contributionsSunset safari in pristine dunesWe were picked up by Usmain in his Toyota Landcruiser and he was very pleasant. We travelled to the dunes and had a great experience in the dunes. Unfortunately the rest of the trip was poor. We paid a lot of money for a second rate experience. We are not ones to complain but the location and quality of the camp was very disappointing. The camel ride was 2 minutes long!!! The snack food was some cold french fries, a single chicken nugget, a spring roll and small samosa. People looked bored and fed up of waiting for the show . Our recommendation is not to waste your money. We also had an extra ride on a dune buggy for thirty minutes, however that broke down and another buggy had to be bought out to me half way through. I did not expect to have a very steady drive behind a guide sat on a quad bike, hardly exhilarating!Written 5 June 2023
- BhargavaVishal0 contributions"Mesmerizing Sunset view"Two hours drive from hustle & bustle of Dubai, lies UAE's tallest mountain range.. Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah. The road are well maintained, public facilities & parking is available. There are few restaurants but serves the purpose of a family picnic. Ideal for large family and friends to take a break and enjoy the natural beauty of UAE. Breathtaking view sunset view of sunset and great place for photography. You can enjoy the rides at rider as well the zipline depending upon your adventure appetite. Glad to see that this place has been developed so well over the last few years. Ideal spot for picnic with friends and family.Written 5 December 2022
- Josie C0 contributions2 Hour family Yacht tripBooked a private yacht for 2 hours for our family of 10, ages ranging 7 to 67, & a minibus for 10 hours with Safarak in the Rixos Hotel. The service was excellent and the Yacht trip was the highlight of our holiday.Written 8 June 2022
- Andylou19750 contributionsBest family experienceWe booked the Desert Safari trip and it was one of the best days of our holiday. Our guide was just great ( Usman) he was friendly, funny, and informative and made the experience better than we could have expected. We were picked up as booked from our hotel in Ras al Khaimah, Took the journey to the desert where we were met, and put in some traditional head scarves. They then asked if we wanted to buy them which was fine and we didnt mind as all part of the experience. Some of our group went off to do the quad bike experience while myself and my youngest son waited on comfy sofas in the shade with water. We then got back into our 4 x 4 for the dune bashing which was so much fun. Back to camp for a short camel ride. Then for food and some traditional dancing. There was a photographer taking pictures all the time which at the end we viewed and chose to buy. The guy was lovely though and we did barter the price. All in all I would 100% recommend and ask for Usman!Written 7 June 2022

- ToniFerrino0 contributionsAll things considered it was a good trip out but I just wish I had been a little wiser. We were staying at the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah beach resort and booked a 'Private Safari' through the Safarak representative based in the hotel lobby. We paid 1,000 AED (£205 approx.) for two adults and two children (13 & 15 years). I accept we could have paid less but we wanted some level of protection if things did not go to plan however misguided that aspiration might be. I am not entirely sure the tour we actually went on definitely was organised by Safarak as their website does not seem to list it although our booking paperwork was theirs. We were picked up on time from our hotel at 16:00hrs by our driver, Mohammed in his Toyota Sequoia and reached the desert oasis in about 40 minutes. Whilst our driver prepared the vehicle (letting the tyres down a bit) we were given 15 to 30 minutes to acquaint ourselves with the oasis. Unfortunately, this involved me being charged 210 AED (£42 approx.) in total for two overly elaborately prepared ice creams for the kids, which thankfully tasted fine to them but understandably left a bad taste in my mouth. It was partly my fault as I had only glanced at the price list that had inconveniently been placed down flat and was somewhat sun bleached. The sellers had implied the tiny pot of fruit was included and I failed to agree the total price to start with. However, all is not lost as my family seem to take great delight in continuing to remind me of purchasing the most expensive ice cream in the world and I am sure will continue to do so until I inevitably make an even bigger mistake. Please do not fall for this arguable scam if you decide to visit the same oasis. Many of the other visitors that joined us at the oasis were seemingly much more clued up and avoided the ice cream seller that is until after the shisha pipes had been tried at which point caution took a backseat and the munchies forced a few more sales of £20 ice creams. The desert safari was what we had hoped for and our driver, Mohammed, seemed very competent on the sand dunes although there was a slight language barrier but that is hardly his fault. After a good amount of time on the safari we returned back to the oasis. The other activities and evening food were fine although no belly dancing when we were visited but the other performers were entertaining but hardly cultural. We did not bother booking rides on the quad bikes or the dune buggy’s as they seemed overly expensive and the prices not very clear (I had learnt my lesson by now!). The camel ride experience may not be for everyone but the animals seemed well cared for and swapped out regularly to share the load. We left the oasis sometime after 20:00hrs and were back at the hotel for 21:00hrs as planned.Written 12 April 2022
- 923louisal0 contributionsTraumatisingWe went on the desert safari tour. We were picked up from the hotel by a guide who neither said hello nor introduced himself. He showed us to his ancient Toyota Land Cruiser - the seats were ripped and the phrase “clapped out” springs to mind. We set off worriedly, considering whether to ask him to turn back but were nervous. Let alone the condition of the vehicle, I am not sure the driver had driven a manual before, stalling the vehicle a number of times and doing some inadvertent loud revving at others. My husband asked how long the drive would be and whether he would be taking us on safari. He said he would drop us at the camp in about 25 minutes. We continued on and as we hit the motorway he put up his window (I am not sure the ac worked - ref clapped out above). We then became even more nervous as he was coughing and sniffing. I eventually summoned the courage to ask him to put on his mask - which he eventually did with incredulity. When we arrived at the camp we asked the man at the entrance whether we’d be with the same car and driver and explained our trauma. We also noted that our vehicle was a good ten years older than any of the others. He arranged for another driver to take us on safari which was good. When we got back the driver said that he’d leave us to it as we were not his clients. So we went and explored the lacklustre compound (not a “welcome” drink nor hospitality in sight). We sat down and waited and waited. Seeing others being shown to their tables by friendly drivers. We became increasingly worried about our trip back and in the end decided to cut our losses and miss the dinner and entertainment and see if we could get someone else to take us back. They arranged this and asked for our feedback which we were nervous to give as we wanted to get back to the safety of our hotel. I complained to the rep back at the hotel who listened to my tale of woe and offering no empathy she simply said “it was a private car though?”. It was indeed a private car but certainly not well maintained nor driven well enough which seems more important! I have asked for a refund and am still awaiting a call…. DO NOT RECOMMEND if you value your safety (and prefer to minimise your risk of covid!). #traumatisedWritten 29 December 2021
- A8575HYjot0 contributionsGreat mountain experienceWe booked the trip via Viator and were very happy with the organization. The host/driver/guide Javed was excellent and the picnic just delicious. It's nice to see UAE from a little bit different side - the landscape is spectacular.Written 20 January 2021

- Andrew B0 contributionsGreat Private TourI would recommend this tour. Communication from SAFARAK was very good. The vehicle used was clean, comfortable and had a good 360 view. The driver/guide was friendly and informative. The mountain scenery is fantastic, with and excellent location for the picnic. The guide set up the picnic area, laying out a vast selection of hot and cold food and drink. Everything was perfect.Written 1 March 2020

Ras al Khaimah doesn’t have too much in the way of slick tourist offerings (unlike the carefully crafted and Disney like experience of Dubai) and so Usuman our very engaging guide worked very hard as he took us around on a very dusty day. What we did get was a sense of being a little closer to the real Emirates experience, both the history (even though most of the older buildings have some rebuild about them thanks to destruction by the Brits in 1819) and the impact of Abu Dhabi oil on the Emirati plus the lives of the millions of ex-pat workers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka etc. We very much enjoyed the locations at which we stopped (with the odd giggle) but also the discussion with Usuman about his experiences living in RAK for the past six years as well as the state of British politics :-) So from our perspective it was a lovely afternoon

Tour guide had nothing to say about RAK. Very little information and no nuggets of interesting facts! He couldn’t take is anywhere interesting!
