      Daytrip Khujand
The guy that picked me up at the hotel did not speak english, but we managed. Had to cross the border alone, english speaking guide had a sign with my name on, so it was easy to find him on the other side. Good and friendly guide, interesting history, good lunch (was not included in the price). It is a long drive.

      Highly recommend
We took a day trip to Penjikent. It was a wonderful experience. Our guide was able to pass on to us his love of his country, which is so rich in the history of civilisations. The scenery in the mountains was breathtaking.

      Unforgettable week in Uzbekistan!
Just finished our tour of Uzbekistan. We did a whole week and toured Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva. Excellent experience. Very well organised and excellent value for money. All our requirements were catered for and Fayz was available 24/7 to deal with any minor issues. The hotels were very good, the guides in each city were knowledgeable with excellent English. The transfers were always on time with good drivers. All in all I would highly recommend Silk Road Travellers. They do all the hard work for you so you can enjoy this wonderful country! 5 stars

      Day trip to Khujand
I am happy and delighted to have Farhodbek as my guide in Khujand. He speak English fluently and it‘s nice to hear him talking about his own hometown. Learnt many things from this tour. He is also extremely helpful as I don‘t have any tajik som with me. Totally recommend this tour. The Uzbek driver Daniel & Tajik driver Tahir were also polite.

Fantastic historic tour with wonderful guide!
We did an amazing day tour to Shahrisabz with Silk Road Travellers and later a transfer from our Hotel Silver Rows Samarkand onto our Tashkent hotel…..both very good experiences. If the train doesn't fit your plans, it is easier to be transferred door to door. From the moment I made contact with Fayzullo, he was responsive and helpful in organising what we wanted for a fair price. If you are interested in Uzbek history, then Shahrizabz, the birthplace of Amir Timur is a must visit….if you have the time. It’s a pleasant drive through the countryside with amazing historical buildings (Ak Saray Palace, Dor ut-Tilovato and the Dor-Us Siyadat Complex) all worth a visit and not as overrun with tourists as in Samarkand. We also visited the crypt which was built for Timur, as our fantastic driver/guide Olimjon informed us, he died suddenly (not in a fierce battle as is often suggested, but of natural causes). But instead of being interned here, his final resting place is in the aptly named Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum back in Samarkand. This is one of the best tours we have done, highly recommend and suggest you ask for Jon to be your guide/driver. He was a safe driver. excellent company, as well as very knowledgeable and interesting.

Amazing experience and an amazing city guide
An amazing way to see and experience the historical city of Bukhara with an amazing city guide Shokhrukh who was simply an incredible person, very knowledgable about the history of the city and some of the stories associated with old Bukhara as well as showing me the best coffee and food spots in the city. This is a must have experience if you wish to understand Bukhara and Shokhrukh is your man for this amazing experience

      Khiva - an enchanting beauty
Brilliant - Khiva is one of the most impressive places I have visited. Beautiful mosaics, very historic with many civilizations both pre-and post Islam. The city is quite small enclosed by an ancient wall with good hotels and restaurants inside the wall.

The Most Amazing Efficient Comprehensive 5-Stan Tour
Fayz organized one of the best, most comprehensive and efficient 5-stan private tour for 7 of us from the U.S. We flew 6 times between major cities that saved us at least 5 days of travel time and avoided very bumpy poor road conditions as well as visiting Astana--very worth while visiting. As a result we were able to see so much more with very comfortable transportation. All of our accomodations were simply as the itinerary specificied 4 or 5-star+ hotels (much better than our highest expectations). All the local tour guides were excellent, knowledgeable, very professional and simply the best in class explaining culture, history and customs for each sites. As a result, we have seen all the highlights with deep understanding of the 5 countries in 19 days with comfort and maximum learning experience not counting traveling to and from the U.S. (21-days). All 7 of us felt Fayz guiding us in Uzbekistan as well as all the guides, Darina and others have far exceeded our expectations in every way. We want to thank them all to gave us one of the best tours and memory and experience possible. Thank you all so much!!! The meals were excellent as well--we did not have any meals that we did not enjoy. The horse-riding and horse shows were all excellent as well. We highly recommend Fayz and Silk Road Travellers for your 5-stan tours. We are very fortunate that we chose Fayz and Silk Road Travellers. Such a fun, memorable, great learning trip. What A Trip!!! Thank You Again!!!!

      Not bad
We’re glad we did this trip instead of staying in Tashkent as Khujand was a really nice city, but logistics and communication could’ve been better. Our driver in Uzbekistan didn’t speak English, so he had to call someone to explain to us what would be happening for the day. Might’ve been easier if that info were emailed to us in advance. The guide in Tajikistan spoke English pretty well but didn’t really understand it when we spoke, so he couldn’t answer any of our questions. 3 sites in Khujand ended up being closed the day we were there (it was a Monday), which I feel like a tour company should’ve known. But to the guide’s credit, he found other places in the city to show us instead - appreciate his resourcefulness. There was time for lunch but we weren’t hungry…he still took us to a restaurant and we sat there while he ate a huge meal. We hadn’t been given the opportunity to change money, so we wouldn’t have been able to eat even if we’d wanted to. He felt like he was very knowledgeable about the city but not about tourists’ wants and needs.

      Silk Road magic in Tajikistan!
If you’re fascinated about the old world and Silk Road like I am, a trip to Khujand, Tajikistan is a must! Tajikistan has a rich Persian history, and an affinity to Alexander the Great, which is a whole new flavor to the other stops on the Silk Road in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan… It’s such an easy day trip from Tashkent and I had a great time! It’s exotic to cross the border, and then a short drive away see the town that has the ancient fortress and a cool city that enjoys seeing tourists. Houmoun my guide couldn’t have been better with the ability to explain all the sites and guide me to some tasty treats along the way. Major thumbs up!

Excellent experience - to be recommended
We had a very interesting day visiting Khujand. We were picked up by taxi from our Tashkent hotel and taken to the border. Crossed the border on foot (an interesting experience in itself!) and our wonderful guide Hummoyun met is us with another driver on the Tajik side. We couldn’t have hoped for a better guide: already during our one-hour drive to Khujand, Hummoyun told us a lot about Tajikistan, the history and the context/role Khujand played in the past and today. He spoke excellent English and was very kind and competent. Even though it was only a day trip my son and I got a feeling for Khujand and its sights, and we learnt a lot. In short: an excellent experience!

Wonderful time in Khiva more so because we had our guide!
We had an amazing time in Khiva (May 2023) and this tour is what made it that way. Our guide was very easy to connect with and find and was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful as we navigated our way around the city. We would 100% book again and the guide even helped us coordinate getting to the Urgench airport as Yandex doesn’t work in Khiva. Very helpful and extremely interesting guy!

Interesting run-out to Tajikistan from Samarkand, visiting the excavation of the ancient city of Penjikent, etc.
Very good day-trip from Samarkand to Penjikent Tajikistan to see the town, visit the Rudaki Museum, look at the historical excavations, and have a Tajik lunch. The driver in Samarkand picked me up at my hotel and was on time, as were the driver and guide in Tajikistan. You have to walk a bit to cross the international border, but that was an interesting break. The excavations are of the settlement of Penjikent, dating from the 5th to 8th centuries AD. My guide was quite knowledgeable. And my driver back to Samarkand was there early to take me back to my hotel. I tried to book a similar trip with Trip Advisor, but the minimum participation is 2 people--why? I am so glad I found this from AdvanTour for just me. No complaints about this excursion.
