What to Expect
Our PSV liscensed drivers, will collect you between 0745-0800, from your livingstone accomodation and transport you to the Victoria Falls Waterfront. Here you will meet your friendly International Rafting Federation accredited guides, have some tea or coffee and be issued with your rafting equipment. Followed by our mandatory safety briefing.
*Please be advised to bring USD 20 cash for Parks entry. USD 10 for entry to the UNESCO World Heritage Site at the Victoria Falls. USD 10 for entry into the Mosi-oa-tunya national park. Both payments are government requirments and must be paid at our offices before the trip.

Once the briefings are complete we load up on our custom built vehicles and transport you to the entrance of the magnificent Victoria Falls. Here you will be divided into teams and allocated a white water rafting guide. Please note we do try and keep groups together but the ideal group size is 6-8 and you may be in a raft with other guests you don't know.

We then descend into the middle Batoka gorge. Please be sure to bring good walking shoes for the descent and the ascent of the gorge. After an "on-boat" safety briefing and instructions from your guide. We set off to tackle rapids #1-10. Please be advised Rapid # 9 is a mandatory portage. We will have lunch at Rapid # 10 before rafting rapids 11-21. At Rapid 21 we will hike out of the Batoka Gorge.

Our guides are on hand to assist you and we carry plenty of water. Once at the top of the gorge we will transport you the 30-45 minutes back to our rafting base at the Victoria Falls Waterfront, where it is beer and medal time. Here we will have a meal and an icy-cold local beverage of your choice while watching your complimentary video and picture packages. These are free of charge, to share with friends and family.

After this, it is time to board one of our infamous sunset cruise boats, departing the "Victoria Falls Waterfront" at 1630 for a two hour cruise on the upper Zambezi river, in the Mosi-oa-Tunya national park. The cruise has an open bar of local beverages and a wholesome meal will be served on board.

Expect to see a variaty of wildlife and toast the setting sun. Another tough day in Africa. On returning to the dock at approximately 1830 we will tranport you back to your livingstone accomodation.

What to bring:

1) We do have a valuables box for camera or phone which you will want for your sunset cruise. Please don't bring huge amounts of cash/passports etc.

2) Please wear quick drying clothes that you don't mind getting wet.

3) Good walking shoes or trainers are a must for the hike into and out of the gorge.

4) Be sure to bring sun cream, a long sleeve shirt is advisable while on the raft. Beware of the sun.

5) A warmish top for the drive back to town and a change of clothes before the sunset cruise. We do have ablution facilities you can use for changing.

This was an amazing experience! Staff are super helpful and easy going, coupled with the Zambezi that has Grade 3 to 5 level rapids. Almost guaranteed to flip over in rapid number 18 (we did!) Only con I would say is that to access and leave the Zambezi, you have to walk down

Will advise anyone visiting Livingstone to do this if you have a day open. Professional, enjoyable and very different experience from what one gets more and more of these days - mass marketing and just going through the motions. Well done Captain Chongo and team!

The river is amazing and the small army of machine like men made rafting it possible. The professional guides and amazing porters worked so hard in the heat to bring my family and friends down the river safely and with the most adrenaline and energy possible. Everyone was super

Dear Joshua R, Thank you for rafting with Safari-par-excellence; we are all thrilled to hear, that you had a great time on this incredible river with Chris and our white water team. The Zambezi offers what is arguably the finest one-day white water rafting trip on the planet and should not be missed. The catch, however, is that to raft this class-V river it is necessary to hike into and out of the Batoka Gorge. In the heat, these hikes can be the most challenging part of the day. We implore our guests to wear good walking shoes, trainers are ideal. While you don't have to be an extreme athlete, the ability to negotiate these 20-25 minute hikes is an indication of the fitness levels necessary for this class-V river. Our guides are on hand to assist guests and we have plenty of drinking water on hand. We look forward to welcoming you back soon and wish you safe travels, SAFPAR

Dear Philli S, Thank you for rafting with Chongo and our white water team here at Safari-par-Excellence. We are all thrilled to hear we exceeded your expectations and you had an incredible day with us on this amazing river. The Zambezi River generally reaches her lowest levels in the first week of November and the river begins to rise after that. The Zambezi is a high volume river and even at her lowest, the rapids are always incredibly good fun. Please be sure to share your complimentary media package widely #safparzambia and we look forward to hosting you again soon. SAFPAR
