Lovely overnight stay at Desert Moon
I was at the camp just one night -- wish I could have stayed longer. The guys at the camp were all very friendly and helpful, and did a fun 2-hour jeep tour in the morning. Food was really good, too.

Amazing Experience
I had such an amazing time staying at the camp. Our driver met us in the village showed us around Wadi Rum, took great photos for us, and told us about the desert. Then the camp was very clean and we were well taken care of. We had fun playing cards, dancing, and enjoying the Bedouin dinner as well as making friends with our driver Bakkar and the son of the owner, Abdullah. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Wadi Rum. Thank you to the family who owns the camp, the family who manages it, and everyone else who made our stay so unforgettable!

Attention: Terrible Stay!! Cheaters! Don't go there
I booked this place over the official website in order to get a special deal including jeep ride for me and 8 colleagues. In the end I paid 35JD per person for transfer from and to Wadi Rum village, dinner, accommodation, breakfast and a 3 hours jeep tour. This may sound reasonable but I would certainly never go there again!! I'm writing this post because I feel cheated by the manager and want to send a message to everyone intending to go there: don't go to this place!! You'll avoid a negative surprise! This terrible stay started when arriving at Wadi Rum village we were verbally harassed by one of the workers. After arriving at the camp it turned out the camp was much larger than the one on the pictures on tripadvisor, booking and the official website (at least 30 tents). So if you expect a quiet or familiar evening, forget it! There were whole families and about 50 persons. So, I realised they had sent us to a different camp!! Calling the guy with the number on the official website I had made the deal with, he said I was at the right place. It continued with a dinner that was not enough for all visitors and by the time I got it it was cold. In general, the food was really bad and consisted of very little variety. Also, they didn't even have enough nor clean forks and plates and I had to insist to get some cups. The price is affordable yes, but you'll have to pay for everything else, even water or shisha. In general, the workers were very unfriendly and didn't care about us at all. On the top of that, the toilets were in a aweful condition! Also, there was only cold water and no soap. Hygene, not an issue! Btw, the night is really cold and the tents only contain matress with a cover, pillow and cover which are reused by every new guest. My matress was still sandy from the previous guy! After a rough night with little sleep (I want to mention that I'm ex-military and have little expectations and certainly slept under worse conditions), we had a terrible breakfast that on top was not enough! By that time we were just happy to leave the camp for the jeep ride. This ride was fine although again, the guides were not at all friendly or trying to accommodate us as some of the posts say.

Good lunch
We had lunch here of meats cooked under ground Bedouin style which was very good. It is a comfortable spot, and it was fun to peak into the overnight tents and domes.

Most amazing experience in Jordan
We just spent one day and one night in the Desert Moon Camp and made a jeep tour as well in December. It is not too much if we say that this was the best day of our whole stay in Jordan. The supercool and friendly staff is something that should be highlighted, the guides are awesome, always helpful, gives information on each sight, and they are very funny and good companion - and the most talented photographers we met so far. We were surprised and amazed how this bedouin camp's toilet and shower facilities were the cleanest of all our accomodations'. The tents has wonderful view, the big mutual one also, where you can sit around the fire, talk, drink tea and smoke shisha. The sunset is amazing from here. We should also add that we had the best food during our visit in Jordan here as well. If we could change our itinerary now, we should definitely spend 3 days here instead of one. Highly recommended.

It is magic
We stayed for 2 nights, the tents are basic but clean and the place is nice and not expensive. I will always remember the bedouins kindness and hospitality. The Wadi Rum experience is magic, beautiful colors, nature and landscapes! Thanks to Mohammad for the great tour in the desert even if we did not see the small elephants 😉

Coolest thing I’ve ever done
I am missing the Desert Moon camp so much!! Staying there was by far the coolest thing I’ve ever done. Bakkar took such good care of us and made the experience both at the camp and on the tour so much fun. We saw amazing sights and ate WONDERFUL food. The camp was beautiful. It was so quiet at night that you could fully embrace the stunning view of the Milky Way you could see at night. I woke up to watch the sunset and found 6 camels roaming right outside the camp! It was such an amazing experience. 10/10 recommend and I cannot wait to go back!

Wonderful place in the desert. Solo woman travellers please read.
The camp was beautiful, the food was delicious and watching the sun go down was magical. I got the chance to sleep outside under the stars which I really enjoyed. Driving through the desert to tge rocks was also great. I paid 40JD with my hostel which was good value for money I believe after looking around. I am only giving 3 stars because I was travelling solo and the guide kept asking me if I wanted to leave the group at night time and go with him alone to another place in the mountains. It made me feel a little uncomfortable.

Great place, best value
Stayed 3 nights at the camp. Great place! New people coming in every night, good chill area, and the guys running the place are up for fun. Pay for dinner and any tours, otherwise no other hidden fees like transport to/from village like some other places. They took good care of me! Recommended!

Great camp, hospitable owners
I stayed there for several days - it has a perfect location, great food and a very friendly camp manager. I went on a jeep tour, and climbed/hiked several times on my own. Absolutely worth it!

Desert Moon is the camp our tour company uses. We stayed here one night. Teens had one tent, adults had one tent. Comfortable beds with plenty of blankets, Good lighting in tents. Dinner was pretty good. We brought wine and they chilled it for us. Breakfast was just OK. (boiled eggs, hummus, jelly, rice, stewed vegetables (I am guessing leftovers from dinner). There was no milk or creamer for coffee-even powdered creamer would have been appreciated. On a chilly morning in the desert, coffee is a must when watching the sun rise. There are two toilets, two showers, and two sinks-like camping facilities, not glamping facilities.

Perfect experience & stay
Wadi Rum ranks on the top of my list of my Jordan trip along with Petra and the Desert Moon Camp has everything to do with it! The minute the jeep driving us to the camp entered the desert me and my friends were all glowing out of sheer joy. And that was highlighted with the experience we got from staying at the Desert Moon Camp. The bedouins running the camp were very friendly, the facilities were unimaginable given the location in the middle of nowhere (clean tents, bathroom facilities, perfect dinner and breakfast), and the food was delicious. Dinner was served the traditional bedouin way and we got to learn about the history behind this tradition. Following dinner, we all sat outside around the fireplace and enjoyed tea and conversation, looking at the AMAZING starlight sky. If only that sky could be captured on camera! The next morning the serenity of the desert really hit us - if you wake up early enough and get to be the first to go out the tents you pretty much hear nothing at all. AMAZING again! There are plenty of activities you can arrange to experience - we did a 2-hour jeep tour that was very well worth and 1 hour camel riding which was super cool as well. Cannot recommend Wadi Rum and the Dessert Moon Camp enough! You must include it this in your trip. PS Do book for 2 nights, you will feel extremely lucky!
