We had a wonderful day with Jens and Umematsu. Both were professional and full of great information to share. In addition, they were extremely patient and flexible, and accommodated us in every way. What a lovely tour with Joyce, our knowledgeable and professional guide. We had our own private transportation to Matsumoto Castle, Frog Street and Narai-juku, a unique Edo Period village. Joyce narrated for us the whole time and recommended a delicious Okinawa restaurant and the best ice cream shop for dessert. We walked a ton and learned a lot. Narai-juku is a bit more off the beaten path, a period village set in the mountains. It was so magical!! After the tour, Joyce and our driver dropped off us at a train station closer to our next destination. They helped us buy tickets and set us off. Highly recommend touring with them!

The plan to start at Tsumago and finish at Magome is a good plan! Kim talked about the history of the places. She has also made sure that everyone is okay throughout the trail. Iwasaki-san made the driving trip comfortable and safe. Arigatou gozaimasu. ~Eunice

This was a fantastic day trip from Nagoya. It was a small group, everything ran on time, and our guide Kim was extremely nice and knowledgeable. Our driver, Iwasaki-san, was very kind. The trek is very manageable, the views are incredible, and closing at Magome was a perfect end to a great tour. Would strongly recommend.

Beth was the perfect guide to show me the gems I other wise would’ve missed in Ueno Park. On my own I might’ve skipped a national history museum, but she pointed out the beauty of the building as well as some items of historical relevance. We saw several temples and shrines in the park and she spoke to their age, history and uniqueness. There was time to just sit in a beautiful spot, or grab a cool drink as she share more about the Japanese culture and history. The second part was as interesting as the first as we explored a neighborhood of Yanaka and a captivating museum/house/workshop of a Japanese sculptor who had a center of the home peaceful water garden. More gems I would’ve missed if not for our guide. The itinerary works well with lots of interesting destinations but with ease and flexibility. Highly recommend.

We specially enjoyed Dae’s expertise and history of the tour and allowing us to wander around and rejoin when we wanted to around the Zenkoji temple. It was super special we even got to see the highest priestess monk, who blessed us. But what a fantastic and well organized package! I compared other tours packages from other companies and this was the best for the price! Great times and a good crew of people to meet and hang out with.

Monkeys were very cute, scampering around. Lunch was amazing, very elegant restaurant, and I enjoyed walking around the Temple areas.

The trip was amazing. The guides were the best. It really worth it! Every single experience was unforgettable. Jens and Eriko San were absolutely perfect! We had so much fun!

Dai was a kind and knowledgeable guide, and brought the city of Nagano, the temple, and area to life. Learned so much, had such a wonderful time, and the monkeys were amazing

Mike was an amazing tour guide. So knowledgeable of the area and places we visited. Definitely worth seeing a craft that is handed dine by generations and the workmanship is beautiful. The villages are beautiful and so much more to enjoy. Mike made this tour the best experience of my trip.

It exceeded expectations! We thought we’d only be trying 3-4 different sake but we ended up trying at least 8! Both Joyce and Takeshi were welcoming, informative and friendly. And we were given enough time at each attraction we went to! Also, they gave us a great recommendation for dinner after the tour finished! Overall would recommend.

The breathtaking cliffs of Tojinbo were a true highlight, with dramatic coastal views and fascinating geological insights. The visit to the spiritual island of Oshima felt serene and mystical, while the historic port town provided a glimpse into Fukui’s maritime heritage. It was an adventurous visit to the Oshima island which we definitely wouldn’t have done it without our guide (Kudos to Garrett) ! The guide’s engaging storytelling and expertise made the journey both educational and immersive. Highly recommended for nature lovers!

Despite the rain, this tour was an insightful and enriching experience in Fukui. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, providing deep historical and cultural insights that brought each location to life. Eiheiji Temple, with its serene atmosphere and stunning Zen architecture, was a highlight, offering a glimpse into the traditions of Soto Zen Buddhism. Walking through Fukui Castle Town was equally fascinating, with well-preserved sites and engaging stories about the region’s samurai past.
