Abutting the remarkable Toyama Bay, Takaoka is a city with a diverse history of over 350 years. Known as the “Kitchen of Kanazawa”, it produced large amounts of food, metal working and pottery. As the second city of the Kaga Domain, much wealth was poured into the city, mostly in the form of building great temples. Two of those great temples, Zuiryuji and Shokoji, still remain and are considered National Treasures. On this tour you will see those temples, try your hand at metalworking and see the Amaharashi Coast with a view of the snow-capped Tateyama mountains in the background.

      Great experience, cutest monkeys!!
It was a great day! We arrived especially from Tokyo and even tho we were tired Eriko and Kevin were very energetic and woke us up. The temple was very interesting experience, we've been to lots of temples in Japan but it was the first time we did a guided tour, we learned a lot! Then the Sake tasting was very nice, I actually liked the most the non alcoholic version - it tasted like a dessert! Abd of course the highlight of the trip was the anow monkey park - it did not snow but was cold and lots of monkeys were hanging out in their onsen, we lovedddd it and it was worth the long (but easy) walk! 🙏🙏🙏

      Great guide Jevin and experience
Jevin was our guide and he was fantastic. The Snow Monkey Tour in Japan is a fantastic experience, offering a chance to see wild Japanese macaque monkeys bathing in hot springs. Jevin was a knowledgeable and friendly, ensuring an informative and enjoyable visit. The walk to the monkey park is scenic and easy, and the tour provides great opportunities for wildlife photography. Overall, it's a memorable and well-organized experience, perfect for nature and animal lovers.

      Beautiful!
This was an absolutely amazing tour! I went with Garrett and Mike, and they were both funny and insightful. Eiheiji is easily one of the most striking placed I’ve been to in Japan. I recommend this tour!

      Snow Monkeys and much more
My wife and I went to see the snow monkeys and included in the tour was lunch, Obusa town visit, and Nagano temple visit. Our guide, Jens, was very kind and patient. He adjusted our tour to our desires. He is very knowledgeable on many subjects and we had fun teaching each other new things.

      Incredible tour
We met at Nagano station which was very easy to get to from Tokyo. From there we went to a sake tasting. This was very interesting as we learnt about the process of sake making as well as the different techniques involved. From here we visited Zenko Ji temple which was an incredible experience especially as we saw the high priestess. We then went for some lunch which is provided before heading to the snow monkey park. You spend a good few hours in the park which is just the most beautiful place. Would highly recommend this tour

Nice paced tour of Obuse and bHokusai art and history.
Lovely day exploring Obuse with Dai. He met us at the train station closest to our hotel. The trip was well paced giving us time to explore town, learn about and see the art and final studio of Hokusai. Would recommend if you have time to explore. Bonus for us was the autumn colors

      Great day!
We both had such a wonderful time! Great trip for all ages, couples and families. Also we were very lucky with the tour guide Kevin, he was full of local knowledge and so easy to understand explaining all little details. Had answers to all the questions and also very calm and patient with the gang. The restaurant and the food were outstanding specially with the snow fall outside. We were very lucky . I can’t say much about the monkey park because it wasn’t very impressive. And that’s the only reason I can’t state this trip as excellent… the walk to the park was beautiful though. Monkey park - 6 Temple - 9 Sake tasting - 8 Restaurant + food - 10 Tour guide Kevin - 100000000 Thanks.
