If you want to enjoy a bit of European art in Japan, you can! The building of the museum used to be an old army headquarter; it has a unique construction of using red bricks. The museum has strong focus on Belgian art because one of the Belgian city is a sister city of Himeji. The museum collections include traditional European art to modern art. The museum also exhibits local artist collections. There is a café that is very popular amongst tourists. If you walk around the castle it’s a great place to stop over to have a coffee.

          6-hours of fun!
Bruce Sugano was a really great guide! He was very patient with us as we went to different shops to buy souvenirs and he showed us a lot of really fun places. Bruce even encouraged us to take pictures and would help us take photos from place to place. The experience was overall educational and fun!

          Noriko for the win!
Noriko was so amazing. She was super patient with us, considering a 20 month old can be a bit difficult! But she was so accommodating and flexible. Helped us navigate transportation and was very knowledgeable.

          A Must when Visiting Kobe
My husband and I had a wonderful time on this tour. Norio Oki was our guide. He was very knowledgeable of the areas we visited and gave us some history of the local sites. We visited Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden, Sorakuen and Kobe Motomachi Shopping Street. We took the ropeway to the Herb Garden. The view was amazing! The flowers and herbs were spectacular. The Sarakuen was a paradise. Lots of trees, flowers, and water ways with large coi. Kobe is a beautiful city. You will not regret taking this tour. Make sure to ask for Norio Oki! He communicated with us within a few days of reserving the tour and kept in touch several times prior to the tour. You will be in good hands with Norio! Joe and Betty

          Our favourite place in Japan!!
Nikko is a Jewel of a town. We finally experienced the Japanese countryside, away from the busy big cities. The waterfalls were wonderful to see on a sunny day, the Rinnoji Temple was extremely interesting to visit. The streets and eateries cozy and cute . We had a fantastic private guide, her name is Yoko Nakata. She really made a difference to our visit, as she informed us of all the stories and legends of the area, so we just had to listen effortlessly and we learnt a lot. She also recommended places to visit (and was spot-on with the choices) and a lovely little restaurant for lunch, which we really enjoyed. Yoko really went above and beyond, she gave us a lot of extremely interesting information to help us understand Japanese life and traditions. We would highly recommend Yoko to anyone wanting to visit Nikko!!! A really amazing experience!!

Great day at Miyajima and Hiroshima
We had an amazing time with Tomoyo as our guide. She asked what are interests before the tour and provided great information so that our tour went smoothly. We saw the highlights of Miyajima and ate some delicious oysters. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the places we visited. We went to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park before sunset and visited the museum which was an emotional experience. She then booked us a restaurant knowing we wanted to try okonomiyaki and we had a delicious meal. We would definitely recommend booking with Tomoyo.

Definitely worth the money, he even found a couple of Pokemon manhole covers for our kids!
Sam was a great tour guide, very informative and created an itinerary to our requests. Even though he had to take us about 40minutes on the train as our what we wanted to see was a fair way away from our accommodation!

Very enjoyable tour around Iya Valley
Higashi was an excellent host and driver for our Iya Valley tour. He collected us with our luggage and discussed the itinerary before setting off. He is an excellent driver and the car was spotless. We stopped at two lookout points, enjoyed a quiet river Cruise and travelled to the twin vine bridges stopping off to see the town of scarecrows on the way. The vine bridges were fun to cross. Then we headed back for an enjoyable coffee at the single vine brudge, returning to our destination by our agreed time. It was a pleasure travelling with Higashi and we highly recommend the tour. Thank you Yoshi for an awesome day!
One of our best Viator experience of so many wonderful Viator tours all due to our amazing guide, Yoshiko Hattori. Yoshi is so pleasant and professional. The perfect ambassador for Japanese culture and Viator. She skillfully took us to so many popular places in Nagasaki while making the most of our time throughout the tour. Her commentary throughout the tour was interesting and insightful. We especially appreciate her sharing her father's experience as an atomic bomb survivor and her family's experience afterward. Yoshi has a unique passion and love for people, as well as her country. I highly recommend that you seek her out for the best tour ever!

          Himeji Castle in October 2024
Chiyuki was a wonderful guide. Very informative. There’s so many things that we would’ve just walked past if we didn’t have Chiyuki to give us the rich history and detail. She brought the story of Himeji Castle to life. Great experience. I would definitely recommend Chi Yuki as your next guide.

Memorable Osaka Tour! Thanks to Toshi!
First- we had the pleasure of meeting Toshi who was a well organized tour guide- he had a small gift, visuals and historical background ready as we walked through Osaka Castle, Osaka Housing Museum and shopping at the local areas- Toshi had IC cards ready for us to use which we just paid back at the end- it was much easier to navigate trains and subways. He also found a wonderful hotel for lunch (which was also fabulous and affordable) view overlooked Osaka Castle-

A wonderful, whirlwind tour with not just a guide, but a friend
We had an absolutely wonderful time with An in Tokyo! She was patient, friendly and showed us around like friends instead of clients. We hit tons of places in a short 6 hours, with history and culture lessons at each location. My personal recommendation is Nezu shrine, an oasis in the middle of Tokyo - and definitely with An!

Our tour guide, Rie, was EXCELLENT. She has been to Himeji Castle 3,000+ times. She is very knowledgable about the castle. My husband and I were very appreciative of her special care with not rushing us. We highly recommend this tour and hope that you get Rie as a tour guide. She was highly attuned to our needs and the pace of our tour. We had a great experience.

I had Nishi as my guide for Himeji Castle, Engyo-ji Temple and Nadagiku Sake Brewery.

Nishi is probably the best guide I've had in Japan. She expertly helped me choose what to see and created a schedule to make sure we got to everything. She even made a reservation for lunch to make sure we could get in and out quickly.

At each of the locations she had prepared notes on things I was interested in and had photos and videos prepared to present stories and anecdotes.

If you are considering getting a guide to see Himeji, Nishi is a great choice!

Our guide Nishi was a great source of information during the tour. Himeji castle was beautiful but we were disappointed by kokoen garden. It is important to note that it was at the very end of the tour (we were exhausted), that our guide was not with us anymore (since the guided part was over) and that we had already visited castles and garden before. We were satisfied at the end of the tour.

Had a really fantastic day in Himeji thanks to Yama who has gone above and beyond for me. The day was very well planned and personalised to match all my preferences. Yama is the most knowledgeable and friendly guide you can ask for, he made me laugh a lot and even showed places to try local cuisine. Absolutely recommend!

One of the best tours I've had. Our guide Yama was an incredibly knowledgeable and fun guide for us. His English was very easy to understand and we definitely appreciated his great sense of humor. Even went out of his way near the end of the tour to take us by certain restaurants that he personally recommended based on what we were in the mood to eat. Would definitely book again!

Hiromi-san, our guide, provide an itinerary before our arrival. It is very helpful to orient ourselves to the venue. We manage to see the Himeji castle, Koko-en garden, and Hiromino shrine in one day. It was an eventful experience. Hiromi is a knowlegable guide, she knows her stuff, and has a pleasant personality. I would recommend her highly for a tour in Himeji!

Mr Yama was a great tour guide. Everyone on our trip enjoyed our day with him. Mr Yama is knowledgeable about what he’s showing you and makes every effort to arrange your tour to your exact likes and hopes. A couple of things we wanted to do were closed for maintenance and Mr Yama knew what was open and what was closed and offered great alternatives. I would totally recommend this tour and Mr Yama as a tour guide.
