Rafflesia Rainforest Reserve is undoubtedly the best place to see the world's biggest flower; it is located in Crocker Range near the village of Tambunan, approximately 1 hour drive from Kota Kinabalu. This park is dedicated to rafflesia, world’s largest bloom. The park has nearly twelve different species of the flower and the species can be found only in Sumatra and Borneo. Rafflesia is parasitic in nature and grows in the jungle vine stems. However, the blooms grow up to a size covering one meter in its diameter. The reserve at Sabah has several species that are found uniquely in Sabah.

Pick up from the city hotel at 0800hrs. About 1½ hours drive journey through the scenic view within Crocker Range Park to Tambunan Rafflesia Centre which located conveniently by the roadside and is only 58km from Kota Kinabalu. At the entrance of this reserve is a Rafflesia Information Centre. There are eight trails for trekkers including a Rafflesia Trail that leads to the flowering sites. For those who do not wish to go jungle trekking or see the original Rafflesia in full natural bloom, the center provides information and replicas of Rafflesia in their true shapes and colours. In the afternoon, lunch at the local restaurant before transfer back to Kota Kinabalu.

So So dinner, Not worth the price
The overall experience is okayish. Transport was smooth in comfortable van. After going in there food was okay, variety was there but the only selected dishes were good. Live counter had pasta that was not good. For the price they charging its definitely not worth it. Would prefer street food tour instead

        Avoid
My visit to ARAS Restaurant at KL Tower was a letdown from start to finish. The staff managing the lifts were rude and unorganized, causing unnecessary delays and confusion, which soured the experience before we even reached the restaurant. Once inside, the food was below average, especially considering the high price. While they offered premium non-alcoholic drinks, these came at an extra cost. Otherwise, only basic options like water, tea, and coffee were included. The lack of variety and quality in the dining experience was disappointing, especially at such a well-known location. For anyone considering dining at ARAS, I’d recommend skipping it altogether. Instead, head to the Sky Bar at Banyan Tree Hotel. The food is excellent, the drinks menu is extensive, and the service is truly five-star. It’s a much better way to enjoy a special night out in Kuala Lumpur. Save yourself the disappointment and opt for a more memorable experience elsewhere!

Aras KL tower - disgraceful false advertising
Only picked 1 star as you have to. This was one of the worst experiences I've had. I'd give it minus zero. Don't waste your money. We were heading for a celebration dinner. I prepaid in July with 7.30pm booking. Arrived early and then was told to wait. Waited 40 mins before being let up. The website is impressive with beautiful views and seafood pictures and it's nothing like that. Crowded, buffets look terrible. People pushed ahead and were let up before us despite booking. They offered me a window seat whilst we waited downstairs for 50 ringgit. When I got there one seat had a dirty window view and the other had a concrete pillar in front. The carpet was worn and everything dated. Finally got a waiter and ordered a glass of champagne only to be informed it is halal! Didn't see that on the website as I would not have booked it if I did. I'm Australian and this was a celebration dinner - I was expecting a glass of bubbles. I left immediately and they would only refund the window seat fee. The company I used to book the venue have offered $20 credit for their site which is unacceptable. I've told them I will never use again. I'll stick with klook used them for years and they can handle situations such as this. Never had an issue. 99 percent of my travel bookings go excellent but the 1 percent that don't you want an agency that can sort things out. So at this point it's 9pm we haven't eaten all day and were looking forward to buffet. We went back to our hotel grand Hyatt and had a late but excellent dinner with best views in KL. It's only 10 floors above our room. Should never have left. So yourself a favour and don't bother with KL tower or Aras for that matter. Go to Thirty8 at grand Hyatt. Amazing views and excellent food and service. And I recommend not using head out. Whilst their response was prompt they cannot get my money back.

        Book at your risk.
Made a confirmed reservation 1 month ago, i was reminded 1 day and on the day itself that my reservation has been confirmed. I have turned up on time but was informed that the restaurant has been fully booked for a Pakistan event. Hence I am not allowed to go up. What the hell is this? I have wasted close to RM 40 for my transport to KL Tower. But I was turned away without any notification or apology from the restaurant. I will never visit this ARAS restaurant ever. This is the worst service I have encountered.

        Outstanding
The service was excellent and the food was outstanding - fresh, huge choice (surely something for everyone) and delicious. Being a buffet style meant you could indulge in whatever takes your fancy and as much or as little as you want. The waiters were most helpful and professional. There were only three negative points though they did not spoil the overall experience: 1) we had to wait for a long time (probably 20 minutes) in line, not only with the restaurant goers, but with people just visiting the tower before we got to the restaurant. 2) The air conditioning was too efficient, so it felt very chilly! 3) No alcohol served. All in all though, a most enjoyable evening. Well done ARAS - you have got it right. Make sure you keep this up.

Sky-High Dining Delight: A Night at Aras Revolving Restaurant
My experience at Aras Revolving Restaurant was truly unforgettable, with its stunning location at a height of 421 meters offering panoramic views of the entire KL city. The ability to capture time-lapse videos from day to night as the restaurant slowly rotated was a unique and breathtaking aspect of the dining experience. Although the food selection was decent, the dinner service stood out for its delicious dishes, desserts, and the attentive service provided by the staff. The combination of spectacular views, enjoyable food, and excellent service made my visit to Aras Revolving Restaurant a memorable dining adventure.

Awesome experience. A few suggestions though to assist tourist on Malaysian desserts - an english translation or a simple instruction on how to prepare them.

        Misleading restaurat
Very disappointing! Waste of time and money. I saw online they serve high tea, and every country I go I like to experience high tea. A few days ago I went to the high tea at Hyatt and it was phenomenal! At Aras was a waste of money. I prepaid $139. I got there and the waiter sat me by the window. That was nice! The only thing nice at Aras is the view. The waiter asked -"Would you like juice or soda?". I thought that was an odd question and I answered - "I'm here for the high tea, so I guess I'll have a black tea". He then brought the tea and an $18 bill. I said- "I already paid for the high tea". He said the beverage was separate. I asked how can tea not be included in the $139 high tea that I paid. I thought it was very odd, but paid. And sat there waiting for the triple tray with those finger food (sandwiches and pastries that are tiny and traditional of high tea). Time passed and nothing. I called the waiter and asked if he was going to bring the triple tray. He said it was a lunch buffet. I said I read online that the high tea starts at 3pm and I came at 3pm for the high tea. And told the attendant I was here for the high tea. He said our high tea is the lunch buffet and we have self serve tea there. - Why did you charge me for tea then?" He said because you ordered it instead of picking it up from the buffet. I went and took a look at the buffet. It was a lunch buffet, there was nothing that resembled high tea. Rip off place, misleading and false advertising that they offer high tea. They don't even know what high tea is. Enjoy the view from the deck. Same view, but cheaper.

Excellent educational experience seeing Orangutan's free in their natural habitat
Highly recommend a visit to the Orangutan Island tour. Its a short and convenient stopover on the way to Penang (allow for 2 hours including ferry to the island). This is not a zoo - it is a conservation park and an excellent educational experience seeing Orangutan's roaming in 15 acres in their natural habitat. Our guide was very informative and helpful. Definitely recommend

DIDN'T SHOW UP!! or contact us do not use this company
Tour never turned up ruined the 1 night I had to visit KL DO NOT USE THIS TOUR OPERATOR I booked this tour as me and my wife had a Saturday night in KL, booking was confirmed via email and trip advisor app I also received a voucher to down load We waited in lobby 15min before departure time as instructed on ticket sent...... After 45min and no sign of the driver I contacted tour operators who knew very little and seemed very confused. I was informed they would call me back, when they called they informed me they could now not do the tour no explanation why was given. Operator tried to get me to change my booking to the following night, I explained this would not work as I had only one night so needed to do it tonight after a long pause they again asked me to take the tour the following night. I informed the operator they had ruined my night and I would leave 1 out of 5 feed back at this point operator hung up. Terrible customer service As it was 19.00 by this time I was unable to book another tour. If the tour operator had the common curtisy to inform me earlier in the day they could not do the tour I would have been able to re book but they didn't they just left me waiting knowing the were not coming. This is the 1st negative review I have left after 5 + years of using trip advisor so please don't take this as bad feed back on trip advisor which up until now has helped me arrange many great tours but DO NOT USE THIS TOUR.
