About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- X8007BQdavidm0 contributionsA Lovely way to see some of MauritiusA lovely trip which felt more like 2 trips "bolted together" Kayaking was physical work but well worth the effort seeing amongst other things waterfalls , monkeys & Bats Re the Sunset , we were basically dropped of at Flic-en-Flac about 2 hours before sunset and then left to our own devices until sunset . As soon as the sun had gone our driver was looking for us , to take us back to hotel Still worth doing but you'll not be kayaking at sunsetWritten 9 September 2024
- Charlotte E0 contributionsFun, amazing and beautifulIt was so much fun too swim with the dolphins and we even got to see a whale!! The beaches are beautiful and very picture friendly (most forbidden to swim by) To see many animals at la vanille nature park was so much fun. A lot of time in the car since we lived in the north but it was worth it, we got a tour on almost everything in Mauritius from our amazing tour guideWritten 4 September 2024
- 817evieh0 contributionsMostly a good day but not the dolphin sectionMost of the day was fabulous- we had a private taxi to escort us between locations who was fairly knowledgeable on the local area. We specifically enjoyed the Seven Coloured Earth, home to the coldest ice cream in the world and giant tortoises. The snorkelling was very enjoyable however the beginning of the trip observing 2 pods of dolphin (we were recommended not to actually get into the water due to poor visibility) we found to be borderline unethical and cruel. This was because there were over 50 boats chasing the dolphins in a lagoon where the dolphins were trying to protect their young. It made us uncomfortable.Written 17 August 2024
- StiflersDad0 contributionsExcellent full day outingThe swimming with dolphins exceeded our expectations. The water is clear, calm and warm - so even the weaker swimmers are comfortable to get in. We had a bonus on the day as we saw two whales on top the dolphins. Rest of the tour was restful with lots of stops at wonderful viewpoints. The seven coloured earth is an experience - even after some rain we found the colours striking.Written 16 August 2024
- dubs1110 contributionsOK???Group of 14 adults attended this trip. This trip was 1 of 3 trips we had done and was our least favourite The swimming with turtles, consisted of only 1 small Turtle 🐢 and was a little crowded due to other boats and tourists. I probably wouldn't recommend this trip. But would look to find a better Turtle excursion.Written 13 August 2024
- Chi2260 contributionsWonderful full days tour highly recommendThis tour was amazing! From start to finish. Our driver/guide Keni was great; informative, friendly, punctual, helpful. Swimming with the turtles was wonderful. The botanical gardens a must see too! We even got a quick visit to a beautiful Tamil temple stunning! Very happy thank you.Written 12 August 2024
- 344trudeb0 contributionsGreat morning at Le Morne Brabant and ChamarelWe got picked up at 5.15am by our taxidriver, and drove in the dark night towards the starting point of our hike. Met our guide Daryeau, and started the ascent, it was just the three of us, which is preferred, bigger group will take a longer time. We walked through the forest with frogs jumping around the path in our guides torchlight, and as we came further up we got to see the sun rise in the east We met one other small group on our way up. We had the top to our self, the view is amazing! You definitely need a guide up this mountain. It can be quite dangerous on your own. After the hike we drove to Chamarel, and got to see the beautiful waterfall and the seven colored earth. It's nice to be there early, not many people there then. We had been on Macondé on a different trip, so we did not go there by request. Definitely recommend this trip with Bonjour Mauritius. Ask for Daryeau to be your guide up Le Morne Brabant.Written 7 August 2024
- Ifa19950 contributionsUNPLEASANT EXPERIENCEThe drivers car broke down twice during our way to the nature park, he was bluntly rude numerous times and took us to destinations that were not as per our schedule. It was such a waste of time and tourists would not enjoy the company and experience at all!Written 25 July 2024
- Anna K0 contributionsNice day out on Ile aux Cerfs but a veggie option for lunch would be perfectI was taken to Trou d’Eau douce to board the boat by taxi driver Avinash, he was very nice and friendly and his driving is nice and smooth, which made me feel safe in the car. As to the boat tour itself it was very pleasant. We arrived on Ile aux Cerfs around 9am, it was very quiet and peaceful and we got plenty of time to enjoy the beach and different activities available on the island. I had a chance to do some snorkelling off a glass bottomed boat which was great, for an extra 1500 rupees as the day trip didn’t include water activities. Giving 4 stars instead of five as there was no vegetarian option for lunch, I was given a curry with big chunks of meat in it (after informing Bonjour Mauritius ahead of time and one of the staff cooking at the barbecue place before lunch that I don’t eat meat.) however, the side dishes of potato salad, garlic bread and rice were very tasty! After lunch I was brought back to the main shore where Avinash was already waiting for me, to bring me back to my hotel, really appreciate the punctuality!Written 23 July 2024
- niknak220 contributionsAmazingWe immensely enjoyed our couple of hours whale watching with Fletcher and his captain on the day, on the Dolphswim boat. They were both so professional and knowledgeable which meant we were lucky enough to see Sperm whales almost as soon as we left the jetty. Wouldnt have missed this for the world.Written 23 July 2024
- marcelkM4332JC0 contributionsA Great day with SanFirst of all, many thanks to our tour guide San. In addition to the well-known excursion destinations, he also showed us one or two great viewpoints. He also gave us lots of background information about Mauritius. He also let us be part of his life and his wonderful family.Written 12 July 2024
- Alison F0 contributionsWell worth it, once in a lifetime experienceWe did this experience on Tuesday and it was fantastic !! We were so lucky to see 4 sperm whales dive and reappear 3 times. Obviously, it can't be guaranteed, but the whales are there all year round, so it seems you have a good chance. The guys doing the trip were very informative and answered any questions we had. They knew where to look, and where to move on to after they'd dived.Written 4 July 2024
- Tour7035300 contributionsTurtle experience and tour.First of all, credit to my driver, Luv. He was extremely helpful, informative and flexible. I didn’t feel rushed and he was on-hand when needed. I started with a trip to the red church, which is a great photo opportunity. A brief stop at Baby Baie beach for a wander along the sand, before heading off to meet the boat for the turtle encounter. Swimming with the turtle is an experience I won’t forget. I got really close to it, respecting the wildlife guidelines explained to us by the captain. From the ocean to the Botanical gardens next. I could quite easily have spent more time in this stunning place. I made the mistake of not hiring a guide, which were very well priced at Rs75. My highlight was seeing the giant tortoises. A stop for lunch at an amazing seafood restaurant was followed by a trip to the citadel/fort of Port Louis. To be honest, the fort could have been better presented. It is an amazing structure, but the lack of information boards or guides left me a little disappointed. As I’m very interested in history and having more info to hand would have made the visit a lot more worthwhile. Then on to Port Louis centre to visit the aquarium and a bit of a mooch around the shops. The aquarium is well worth a visit, albeit a little on the pricey side at Rs1200. Some amazing phot ops here though. The nearby shopping centre was very pretty and certainly worth a window shop. There is a mixture of high-end retailers, food & drink outlets and gift shops. All of which are very expensive. My driver Luv was waiting immediately outside when I had finished my strole around and he took me back to the hotel. By this point I must admit, I was pretty worn out and there may have been a nap involved on the journey back 😂 Total excursion time was around 8 hours. All in all, excellent value for money and I made sure to tip my driver for his efforts.Written 13 June 2024
- kristinajB8303GT0 contributionsNice experience to see the turtleTo see the turtle swim was very great but there are too many people at the same time. The beaches were beautiful to watch but not good for snorkeling. At the beaches were to many tourists for me. The driver was nice.Written 12 June 2024
- K6608VAlouisee0 contributionsIncredibleOur taxi driver was on time and lovely, he offered to take us for food after, which was unexpectedly nice. The boat guys drove us north to find the whales and it was a success. We got some amazing videos and pictures. They followed the whales keeping a safe distance while we sat and watched them. Such an amazing trip.Written 28 May 2024

Well planned tours, our driver was on time. He shared local knowledge of all places we visited. Excellent communication from tour operator with regards to cyclone threat as we had to postpone touring. We where offered a refund if weather didn't improve and we tours couldn't be completed. Thankfully we got to do all 3 days of tours. Highlight of the trip was seeing and swimming with the dolphins in their natural habitat.

Excellent and recommended for all. Mr Boodhoo was great and very caring, he is very knowledgeable and ensures everything goes well, his recommendations are worth it. We owe this trip and lots of fun to him.
Tickets for all activities are not included.
A suggestion to be careful with swimming with dolphins and snorkeling option as that was something that was a bit dissatisfying for us. So i would say check and double check the equipments, support during the activity for kids etc
Otherwise we highly recommend this!!
HUGE THANK YOU TO MR. BOODHOO!!

Our trip to Mauritius was incredible in huge part to our driver Kessaven. First I’ll discuss the tour. The tour itself was jammed packed with all the must see and do on the island. It’s a fantastic deal for 3 full days.
But the tour wouldn’t have been half as great without our driver and guide Kessaven. The weather was all over the place and there was a holiday and a Sunday added in to the mix. All this to say we had to change things up to ensure we were able to see everything. Kessaven was able to ensure this happened. He was so knowledgeable about the island and shared so much information.
After the tour we asked Kessaven to take us to other places as we trusted him to get us where we needed to be and on time.
If you have the time take the tour, if you can request a guide, make it Kessaven.

We booked this 3 day Private Tour with Bonjour Mauritius last week. It was a great decision; we covered the North, North West, South and South West of the island in the allocated 3 days and enjoyed the wonderful delights Mauritius has to offer.
The biggest value was added by our wonderful driver Kessaven. All through the 3 days, he was friendly, polite, knowledgeable and considerate. His presence on our tour made a world of difference. He was flexible and made it his mission to make our sightseeing experience memorable !
I would highly and definitely recommend this 3 day tour with Bonjour Mauritius, especially with Kessaven as your driver! Do ask for him.

San was fantastic. We had a great time with him. On time every time and was very knowledgable about Mauritius. We also got to know a lot about each other through the time we spent with him. He was very thoughtful when we were travelling with him by helping show us the way to the different viewpoints. San even took his to a local restaurant which had the best seafood. I will definitely want San to be our driver again for future trips. Thanks again San, Matt and Alex.

We had booked a threeday trip pack offered by Bonjour Mauritius. Our first planned trip included the swimming with dolphins and the Southwest tour. We were greeted by a young man in the morning at the hotel we were staying at. He introduced himself as Esny and his first words were „Don’t worry be happy”. We were enthusiastic about him at first because he seemed like a nice young lad who was just entering the guide career (he used to be a mechanic as we found out later) and we were hoping he would be more diligent and professional in fulfilling his responsibilities as a guide.
And so our “swimming” with dolphins trip began. As you can tell by the quotation marks, it is my honest opinion that this activity is not worth the time and money. There were too many people loaded on the boat and the crew did not have enough diving masks and snorkels for everyone on board so we had to take turns using them when diving. We were in the second group of people to dive and unfortunately we only caught sight of the dolphins’ fins. So, in reality this activity should be better named “dolphin watching” and the swimming is more of a false advertising and misleading to people.
Further to add to the above disappointment, the docking place of the boat did not have a suitable area for changing into swimming gear and we had to use restrooms that were I can only describe as gross.
Given the above, our second part of the trip – the Southwest Tour- was up to a bad start as we could not even change back to regular clothes and look presentable. All of a sudden, our driver/guide Esny started behaving in a very peculiar way- he was making weird noises and banging his head with his hands. We were bewildered and were starting to get a little scared. He explained that he was not feeling well- he had a severe headache and running a fever. While we felt bad for him, we were dumbfounded at the fact that first, the tour operator will send someone in this condition to work, and second, risk his clients’ health and safety in the hands of someone that feels so bad that has to bang his head with his hands. After all, we flew half way across the world to be there, spent a significant amount of money and the last thing we wanted was to get sick or be exposed to a health risk in such way (needless to say, I went through half of my first aid/emergency travel kit upon return to the hotel).
We went to all the spots that were listed in the tour itinerary but Esny did not bother to enlighten us about any of them- we did not get any information whatsoever. Here is an example- we made a stop, he said “This is Black River Gorges”, I will wait for you in the parking area”- no explanation or at least some pointers as to what we should be checking out. When we got back to the hotel, we had to look up everything we saw during the day and watch videos on Youtube to get an idea and actually understand what we saw on that trip.
Upon our return to the hotel and after me swallowing a near lethal dose of aspirin in hopes of not getting sick, I reached out to Kessaven- the tour operator manager and asked him to change our driver for the next day tour – 15 Dec 2019, which was a Sunday. On the next day we were greeted by Nadir. He informed us that the trip involved a tour of the North side of the island but it became clear that some of the places of interest in the capital Port Louis, namely the Citadel and the Blue Penny Museum were closed on Sunday. Further, we were even more disappointed when upon arrival in the city late in the afternoon, we found out that the vibrant, historical market, one of Port Louis’ signature spots, was also closed, which apparently came as a surprise to our guide even though it does have clearly listed work hours, which we checked in a pocket guide later and on Sundays it’s only open till noon. It’s beyond me how he did not know that- it seems like he just chose to lighten up our program(and his) by skipping most of the places of interest. I wish someone at Bonjour Mauritius showed some thought for the client and rearranged our trips so we could have gone to the capital on Saturday or Monday when most of the places worth seeing would have been open- but … too much to ask, I guess.
We had the tours of Chateau de Labourdonnais and the Botanical Garden let for this day’s trip. Both places are well worth seeing, especially the Botanical Garden. You should definitely get a guide to get the most of those places. We were offered a guided tour in the gardens by chance and we were delighted by that guide and all the detailed information and facts he provided us with. I do think that our driver Nadir could have and should have advised us beforehand to get such a guided tour at those place.
On our last day trip we had yet a new driver/guide. Unfortunately, we did not catch his name as he had a very thick Hindi accent and his front teeth were missing so we literally did not understand a word he was saying. I hate to be judgmental about people’s appearance but after all we expected at least some guidance from our driver and on this day we were once again offered no information on whatever we visited and we did not bother asking as there was no hope of understanding what this man was saying.
My overall recommendation to all fellow tourists that have set sight on this offer by Bonjour tours is to do their homework ahead of the tours, meaning to look up all the places you will be visiting and not expect or rely on the guide as we did.
My other recommendation goes to the travel firms/agencies that partner with Bonjour Mauritius and offer their tours through their sites, namely Viator and Trip Advisor, for the sake of the tourists, please be more demanding and rigorous with the local tour operators, as in the end it is your brand and image that suffers in offering such inferior and poorly executed service.

Our guide Satya Reddy was lovely, we had a great 3 days with him. He took us to some lovely restaurants for lunch and we saw so much. Thank you for helping to make our trip special

Hi Katherine, this tour includes all 3 days, however we do offer the North, South and Southwest tours separately as well.

Bonjour

Hello,
in the case we (2 persons) book the 3 days tour (1st week of Feb 2020), would it be possible to be piced up and dropped to different hotels? For example picking up at east cost - go for the south tour and dropped to an accomodation in the south, next day picking up in the south - go for the northtour and dropped to an accomodation in the north ... one day rest ... then southwesttour from and to the same hotel? thank you for your kind answer in advance

Hi, thanks for your question. This is no problem at all - we'd be happy to drop you off at a different hotel then we picked you up at.

My husband and I are in Mauritius at the moment and looking at booking this tour. However, we just have a couple of questions
1. Is says it’s customisable, does this mean we can include the rum distillery and eat lunch there?
2. Do we get dropped back to hotel each night?
3. Is there a phone number we can WhatsApp for further questions?

Hi, thanks for your questions!
1. In general the tour is set, however including the rum distillery and eating lunch there won't be a problem. There are several rum distilleries around the island, so we would just need to ensure that the one you pick is not too far from the other sites.
2. You do get dropped back at your hotel each night (pickup and dropoff are included).
3. As per Trip Advisor's posting guidelines we are not permitted to post contact information here. However, feel free to ask us any questions you have.

I will be in Mauritius in November 2020. There will be 10 of us. How soon will I be able to book this tour?
Written 26 September 2019
Hi, you should be able to book for up to 15 people through November 2020 on TripAdvisor (unfortunately we're not able to book groups larger than 15, but you could make 2 booking in this case). TripAdvisor support should be able to help if you're still having problems booking. We're looking forward to welcoming you next year!

Hello, we are group of 17 people (we can go at 2 vans also). We plan to stay in Mauritius 20. - 25.11. and we would like to go around the Island. Something like your 3 Days trip. Do you have any proposal for us? Thank you for your answer, Vladimira

Hi and thanks for your message. The maximum number of people bookable at one time (and that can fit on one minibus) is 15, so you could make two reservations. The two vehicles would be able to travel together and your group could still tour the sites together.

Hallo,
wir sind 4 Erwachsene und würden die Tour gern im Oktober wahrnehmen. Würden wir alle in einem Auto sitzen ?
Danke und Gruß
