      Moroccan Museum of Culinary Art
The museum of culinary art is in the neighborhood of Bahia Palace. There is a standard entrance fee (60MAD) vs fee that covers entrance and tasting (120 MAD). I went with the standard entrance. The museum is a 19th century palace of andalusian style, and is not super crowded. So you can enjoy browsing the architecture and learning about dishes.

      Not to be missed
This is a very interesting museum. You are not only introduced to the culinary history of Morocco but you also get to taste some salads and pastries. It is located in a tiny palace near the Bahia Palace. You really understand the Moroccan cuisine, the cooking utensils, the techniques and the spices.

      Well worth a visit
I found the Moroccan Culinary Arts Museum to be very informative. I paid extra to participate in the food tasting and it was well worth the money. The staff were also very helpful and friendly.

      Wonderful little museum for foodies
This visit was a chance opportunity just before we flew out of Marrakech. The opportunity to learn more about the cuisine we had eaten over the past several days was wonderful. A new museum (opened last year) was beside the Baadian Palace (we originally chose this as our last attraction but when we were quoted a vastly different price to what was listed in a travel book, we changed our minds). It was notably refreshing to talk to the staff there and receive honest and good value for money advice on our options. Our tickets included a tasting of various salads and bread, which we thoroughly enjoyed up top the exterior roof of the museum after our tour. The tour itself was a feast of information, categorized by course (breads, salads, etc). Videos and info plaques graced the walls over several levels, and solidified what we learned about the various dishes. Our lunch experience over and above our salad tasting, we ordered a lamb tagine and some pastries with mint tea, as we enjoyed the warm Moroccan sunshine (very welcome for Canadians used to cold winters). What a fantastic afternoon before departing.

      Great experience!
A beautiful restored riad in the southern medina! We chose to do the tasting along with the visit and were so pleased that we did. Lovely little bites to try! Not a lot of artifacts but a ton of descriptions about techniques and ingredients along with photos of dishes. The riad alone is worth a visit, it is so incredibly beautiful. A highlight of our trip to Marrakech for sure!

      A splendid surprise!
We stumbled upon this gem on our way back to hotel from palace bahia, entered on whim, and absolutely enjoyed ourselves! Highly recommend if you liked typical restaurant moroccan cuisine like tajine or couscous and were interested in the recipes or the history behind them, or if you wanted to see what kind of other foods they had in morocco. I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed all the recipe videos, and all the other dishes that were on display! If you are not too full, you definitely should try the entrance with tasting included! I unfortunately didn't and was very sad about it.

      What a find!
Stumbled across this gem with a few hours to spare on our last day. Beautiful large Riad, renovated and transformed into a museum. Well kept and maintained, used modern technology for visuals, e.g. screens and lots of information. Very well signposted inside, up and down narrow stairs to different areas of exhibits. A restaurant on the rooftop terrace, cooking classes (booked in advance) on another floor with high tech facilities and video screens. This place has an air of sophistication, its design very cleverly merging the old and the new. Was lucky to witness a tea demonstration and allowed to taste different types of infusions. Bought a cookery book in the visitors shop. I don't think this museum has been marketed well (wasn't marked on our paper map from our accommodation) but is definitely well worth a visit even if you are not a foodie!

      Marrakech Must Do Cooking Class
Amazing high tech set up at the Moroccan Culinary Arts Museum for cooking classes, yet instills the Moroccan feel. Cooking school has only been open 3 weeks. Chef works at their cooking station while being shown in real time on screen in front of your cooking station so you can watch, all while lovely, friendly assistants on hand to explain, guide & assist if required. We made 2 starters (Taktuka salad - Moroccan tomato & green pepper salad) + Zaalouk salad (eggplant & tomato), & 1 main meal (Chicken Tagine) & 1 dessert (can't remember name). Family of four but only 2 wanted to cook. We paid $166. AUD for 2 people to cook + $34. AUD for 2 people to watch & eat afterwards. This included tickets to Museum. From the beginning at the museum ticket box friendly well spoken english staff. We booked 36 hrs prior. At completion of cooking we enjoyed eating the delicious food we cooked on the museum rooftop & were given a tangine for the 2 who cooked & an extra one for our other daughter who had chosen not to cook plus coloured recipe cards in English & French. We then strolled thru the Museum admiring the beauty of the renovation & learning more about food in Morocco. Definitely recommend - in fact this would be the highlight of our week in Morocco.

We decided to go with the tasting option. You go along different stalls and learn how the food is made, served etc. Along with samples of food - everything is fresh and delicious! The building itself is also worth notice. Beautiful courtyard!
The entrance fee is 60dh or 120dh with the tasting option (JAN 2020).

What a beautiful and quaint museum in an unspoiled riad. A visit here will teach you all the essentials of Moroccan cuisine, and is a must for any travelling foodies! We took the tasting ticket and got to enjoy a selection of Moroccan salads we’d just read about! These were filling enough to skip lunch too; excellent value for the 120MAD ticket price. Unlike many of the riad-esque tourist attractions in Marrakech, this was very tranquil and free from the usual Instagram-obsessed photoshooters. Very underrated yet well worth the visit! Stunning.

Me and a friend went to explore the museum with a food tasting afterwards. In the museum it shows you pictures and information about Moroccan food and the history behind it. You also see the tables, chairs and dinnerware that was used/is used. If you go to the food tasting at the roof of the building, you are given 11 small things to try and all were good in their own different way.

The museum and cooking class were a highlight of our Marrakech vacation. We visited the museum as a couple with our 12 year old granddaughter. My granddaughter and I both attended the cooking class. The museum is located almost immediately next to the Bahia Palace, so be sure to include a visit to the Morroccan Culinary Arts Museum.

The architecture of the building alone is absolutely worth seeing and the inner courtyard of the palace is beautiful. You can also sit there and have tea or just enjoy the pleasant atmosphere.

The museum is very interesting and modern. The design conveys knowledge about spices and Moroccan cuisine in an appealing way. The concept is well thought out and the presentation is really great!

For those interested in cooking, there is a cooking course in English or French twice a day. The kitchen is modern, very clean and has a Moroccan flair despite the professional equipment. The cook works at a cooking station. Parallel to the preparation by the chef, you can see the cooking steps via live video on the screen. Here you will find high tech next to tradition.

Since there were only two of us, this cooking course was a very special experience. Everything was explained and shown in detail. In addition to the friendliness and patience we were shown, we also really liked the fact that we were served our delicious Moroccan menu on the roof terrace at the end. We really enjoyed this visit to the museum, the cooking class and the food.

Special praise goes to the staff of this museum. Everyone was very accommodating, helpful and friendly. A visit that is definitely worth it! Recommended for the whole family!

What a wonderful location of a beautiful traditional riad and well explained and laid out description of Moroccan cuisine. We had really wanted to do the cooking lesson (they teach you how to cook three courses) in their fantastic and well organised kitchen, but they were fully booked. Will book ahead next time!

A must see in for Foodies in Marrakesch. This Museum was part of the Bahia Palace and was recently renovated. The building is so beautiful it is a worth half the entrance. The display of the different foods and cooking methods is really interesting. Videos, text and artifacts are well put together. It's is very well categorised.

We had the ticket with tasting. The food was very nice put together and you get a lot of different super tasty bites.

It is at the moment a bigger secret than the secret garden, because we were one of the few people around and could really enjoy the Garden and everything. I guess in a while it will be busy as the rest of Marrakesch. It's definitely a recommendation.

I had the most satisfying and enjoyable experience of my days in Marrakech at the Culinary Arts Museum.
Everything was perfect, it’s a beautiful house, much like anything in the Bahia Palace, if not more, and everything is very well documented, with a great atmosphere and the kind of infra structure you won’t find in many places in Marrakech. Besides that, all the staff is very kind and go out of their way to accommodate you.
If that was not enough, I highly recommend the Cooking class! If you like to cook, or if you enjoy food, it’s an opportunity you can’t miss! The chef is great, a great teacher and great cook, and their kitchen is on pair, if not better, than any premier cooking school you’ll find anywhere else. It was an amazing opportunity for me to understand more about their cooking culture and have a lot of fun, not to mention to eat very well too! : )
If I’m ever back in Marrakech, I’ll be back there for sure, it’s a “can’t miss” for food lovers.

Wandered in after backing out of the tourist-overrun Bahia, and we are SO glad we did! Want to know what that bread you're eating in the morning is? How you make Pastilla? The difference between tajine and tangia? Forget the Internet. This is the place. A monument to the culinary wonders of the entire country, from the Souss to the Jewish-Moroccan tradition, from the street-foods to soups stews and salads that make up the Moroccan table.

Not to mention that the building was fantastic! What an amazing job they've done renovating. Really impressive!

As a frequent visitor to the neighbourhood, I've watched the renovation of this building going on for a couple of years now, and so I am delighted to see that it is finally open. I managed to visit it last week. The 40 dh entry price is very reasonable. The exhibition takes you through all the key dishes and ingredients in Moroccan cuisine, with some very useful little videos to show how dishes are made. I found this helped me to understand the cuisine much better. I also loved the building, which is a huge mansion that has been lovingly restored and adapted. The Museum also offers cooking classes. At 50 euros a head, they seemed expensive to me at first. But now I've seen the excellent facilities, I'm beginning to understand why, and I'm tempted to sign up.

This was a great class.. very well organized and informative... professional grade kitchen, designed for teaching; good support from staff; instructions were clear; and the meals we prepared were excellent. One of the best experiences of our trip and some of the best food we had in Morocco.

Be careful not to pay for the class through a third party; they only accept direct payment.
