Stroll through a forest of argan trees and other species until you reach the ocean. After a walk along the beach, you'll head back up towards the Sidi M'Barek waterfalls, crossing the terraced gardens. Nature offers a magnificent spectacle here. As Morocco has been experiencing drought for some years now, the waterfall is dry at the moment. At lunchtime, you'll be welcomed by a Moroccan family for a solar-cooked tagine. This 12 km morning walk ends in the early afternoon with a crossing of the village of Sidi Ahmed Essayeh. It's a great way to meet people and admire the sumptuous scenery.

      Tea and enjoyable walk
Our guide was really very friendly and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed seeing the countryside and taking tea at the basket makers’ house. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable trip. I would highly recommended this visit if you go to Essaouria.

      Authentic cooking class
The Berber cooking course with Berberlands was an authentic experience. We especially enjoyed being together with the very warm Berber family, grandmother, daughter and granddaughter, and with the amazing guide Nima. We cooked in the family's garden with fire. We prepared traditional bread, Berber pizza, vegetarian tajine, Moroccan salad and a very tasty eggplant salad called Zaalouk. The Zaalouk was preperad bacauce, we wanted to do something with eggplant and we think this is a very good alternative instead of preperaing meat. We didn't have prepered meat because we are vegetarian. We had a great time and highly recommend the cooking class.

      True immersion, 100% recommended
What a wonderful, wild Moroccan morning. Abdoul, our guide, was punctual and friendly from the very beginning. He told us many stories about Moroccan and Berber life, and answered questions with good humour and a keen passion for sharing his culture. The market was the most fantastic bombardment for the senses, and a true immersion in Moroccan life. Tea from the greatest height, the communal grills, camels, donkeys, sheep, goats, chickens, glorious colours of vegetables, games, magicians - don't blink - you will miss something! A welcome break from the otherwise very tourist heavy cities. Abdoul took care of me as the only vegetarian in the group, making sure we had plenty of vegetables to grill for lunch. He also warned me of any sections of the market I might find shocking. A true insight into Morocco that I would not have attempted alone. Thank you for fantastic memories I will treasure.

      Morning on the beach
Our guide was exceptional - very informative and attentive. She introduced us to a sea fisherman and a berber family for mint tea - highlighting all the points of interest on the way.

Had Dra - amazing experience 😊
I have been before, and still thoroughly love this totally captivating authentic local farmer’s market. I arrived before sunrise and started at the far end of the market to experience all the animal trading, mainly cattle, but also horses, goats, poultry and camels. Wandering through the rest of the market it is split into house building material, spices, vegetables, homeware, etc, as well as hot tea sellers and food being cooked in hot coals. It is like stepping back in time. I took a ‘taxi collective’, 10 dirham each way from the grand taxi station on Ave 2 Mars in Essaouira. It took 5 minutes for the taxi to fill up before taking 25 minutes to get to Had Dra, and be dropped by the post office. The return taxi is on the other side of the road. Highly recommend, and worth getting there early.

Guide didn't turn up. Phone number didn't work. Such a disappointment
I waited at the arranged meeting point but the guide and transport never turned up. Other tour guides waiting there could give me no information about the company. The phone number I'd been given didn't work. Such a disappointment - now trying to get my money back

      Amazing tour!
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and educated us on the wildlife, local traditions, and history behind Sidi M’barek and saw such serene views of the deserted beach and dunes of Sidi M’barek! We also enjoyed a very lovely tea break with a local berber family who were very friendly and welcoming of their home. Our tour guide was also very accommodating when translating to other tourists in different languages!

      Authentic Moroccan experience
This excursion is a great opportunity to experience an authentic Moroccan market. Naima is a super guide and she showed and explained the market and the farmer's life. Great to meet some of the market people, get some demos and taste the great food!

A tour? For this? Just go!
It's a short drive from Essaouira. Some Moroccan friends who own a lamp store suggested we go. Lot's of stuff to see. Food, fruit, vegetables, spices, clothing, carpets. Lots of donkeys. A fun few hours to walk around. People are friendly and inviting. Definitely worth doing.

      Had Draa Sunday market
The market is truly local, thousands of Moroccan men but no Moroccan women, and in the 2 hours we were there saw less than 10 Europeans. You can buy any part of a animal there, and animal welfare is very different to ours. If you are squeamish definitely don’t go. If you want the real flavour of Morocco go. But beware of pick pockets, my wife had a bag stolen from inside her rucksack.

Sunset hike through the dunes of Essouria
We had the most wonderful walk with Claudia, owner of Berberland Eco Tours. She is such an ambassador for Essouria and the beautiful natural world that makes this a unique destination in Morocco. She knows so much about the plants and local legends, which she described during our sandy walk through the dunes to the ruins of the Sultans Palace. While we were there, we saw people horseback riding and ATV riding. We watched the sun set slowly on the horizon from the palace, a lovely place for photos. Then she took us to Jimi Hendrix bar in the small town of Diabet. I highly recommend a tour with Claudia.

      Great local market experience
We had a wonderful trip with Naima to a local market in Tidzi and visited an Argan cooperative. Naima explained everything in great detail and made us feel becoming part of the local culture. We absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it!

      Very interesting visit
Very informative and interesting visit. Our guide was very personable and friendly. The market is large with distinct sections. The livestock and butchery areas are not for the faint hearted or animal rights activists! But we enjoyed seeing Berber life in all its reality. The visit to the argan oil cooperative was also very interesting.

Very nice walk (Great Landscapes) with Malika. Breathtaking landscapes as far as the eye can see, in great calm, and delicious home-cooked meals during the lunch break. A great way to discover the more remote areas of the region!
