Namib Desert Tour from Swakopmund
From US$60.00
Overview
Discover eroded canyons and welwitschia in Namibia’s Moon Landscape on a Namib Desert tour from Swakopmund that also explores traditional culture, desert plants, wildlife, and the future of development. With all transport and national park fees included, this Moon Landscape tour is a great introduction to a harsh and fascinating environment.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your hotel in Swakopmund, then travel into the Namib Desert to see badlands formed millions of years ago. You’ll be exploring in a 4WD vehicle so you can see some of the Moon Landscape’s most rugged places, while discussing the way Namibia’s indigenous people have learned to thrive in the arid terrain.

This is also a great chance to learn about the future of the Namib Desert, covering industrial development, uranium mining, and more. Throughout the tour, watch for springbok, ostrich, klipspringer, swallow-tailed bee-eaters, and karoo chat, as well as the smaller chameleons and beetles that scurry across the desert floor. Following your time in the Namib Desert, this tour concludes with return transfer to your Swakopmund hotel.
