About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- francescH1476NQ0 contributionsBest day EVERAfter some disappointment trying to book with another tour company we decided to book with Mola Mola as had seen their Defenders driving around. We spoke to Mare-Lee on the phone who was super helpful, recommending us when was best to go depending on what we wanted to see. My friend and I are both huge Land Rover Defender enthusiasts and we met our match in our guide, Wicus, who was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He was as happy discussing local wildlife and dune formation as he was with why Land Rovers are superior to Toyotas! The views throughout the whole trip were breathtaking and truly something that must be seen in person (only improved by seeing it in a Defender). The light lunch on the dunes was yummy and the perfect place to relax. I could not recommend this tour, Wicus and the Defenders enough! The highlight of my trip and something I’ll recommend to everyone and talk of for years to come.Written 6 September 2024
- 845winnie0 contributionsMesmerizing drive a long the coast and though the dunesWe had the scenic 4x4 morning drive. We started when the fog covered the whole view and drove along the beach to sandwich Harbour. When we arrived the fog cleared off and had the amazing view over the dunes and the ocean. Would recommend Mola Mola for any tour! Amazing experience sun ☀️Written 12 July 2024
- 283yilingl0 contributionsAn incredible and unforgettable experience!Excellent!!! It was far beyond our expectations. Although we didn’t see any whales or dophins, it was still full of fun. We really enjoyed the moments that we rushed down the dunes by vechile and felt like rollercoasters. It was our first time to walk down the dune, which laid a good foundation for climbing the Big Daddy 3 days later. Besides, the guides were good at cracking jokes, making us laugh all the time. And the snacks were tasty as well. Highly recommended!Written 24 June 2024
- loretta g0 contributionsBest day out ever!We started with a boat cruise and a cheeky seal (junior) who hopped on board for a photo op…heaps of seals, dolphins, pelican and cormorants…had the most incredible lunch on the beach… oysters/crayfish.. then the drive to Sandwich Harbour by the most expert and entertaining driver! - Jenny B0 contributionsA fun activity from SwakopmundWe went on a fun morning excursion driving from Walvis Bay through the dunes to Sandwich Harbour. Along the way we saw heaps of flamingoes and then had the fun of driving up and down Sandhills - great fun! We had a delicious morning tea on the beach - including bubbles to celebrate the day. Our guide gave us lots of information along the way and we felt very safe with his driving. Saw lots of seals, as well as jackals, ostrich and impala. Can highly recommend this fun outing when in Swakopmund.Written 31 March 2024

- chtraveler1010 contributionsAdventure of a lifetimeSandwich Harbour is such a gem, and Mola Mola are such amazing guides, you are in for an unforgettable day of exploration with views you cannot believe. MASSIVE sand dunes meet the ocean while you cruise up and down the wild untouched slopes in the coolest 4x4 you can imagine. Our guide Vickers is a true explorer with fantastic stories to tell about the dunes, Namibia, and all of his adventures guiding throughout Africa. Have a great time with Mola Mola!!Written 23 December 2023
- tinakV5632YS0 contributionsA.M.A.Z.I.N.G.Worth every $$$. Got to see flamingos, seals, and were sliding trough the dunes while enjoying the scenic ocean. The braai at the beach with delicious food and drinks was the cherry on top. Our guide Pieter was a real darling. Highly recommend this tour when you want to experience something that you will not find easily - 4x4 at beach drives and dunes right along while spotting seals, birds and sometimes even whales.Written 14 December 2023

- louisak23460 contributionsFun and Adventure with Mola Mola SafarisOur day-long exploration with Mola Mola Safaris through Walvis Bay, Sandwich Harbour and the Namib Desert was a blend of luxury, adventure, and nature's wonders. The day kicked off aboard a cruise on a shark cat, where our charismatic Captain Conrad, led us through the marine wonders of Walvis Bay and Sandwich Harbour. We loved the additional guests that joined us - a wild cape fur seal and great white pelican. For lunch were dropped off for a braai (BBQ) at Pelican Point, where even a beach toilet had been installed. The culinary experience was nothing short of extraordinary, with oysters, crayfish, succulent beef, and delicious salad paired with bubbles, all savoured in the shade on the waters edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Our next guide, Vikas took us on a 4x4 adventure around the dunes of Sandwich Harbour. The meeting of the Namib desert and the Atlantic Ocean was breathtaking. Vikas's knowledge and passion for the region shone through as he shared insights about the delicate ecosystem of the dunes and the diverse wildlife that calls this beautiful landscape home. The 4x4 dune bashing was a thrilling ride and I felt 100% safe and secure in Vikas experienced driving abilities. There are lots of similar tours on offer in this area and I was a little anxious observing how many people were being put on board other boats. It became very clear that Mola Mola Safaris have perfected the art of creating an unforgettable experience. I would not hesitate to do this tour again, perhaps taking up other options such as kayaking.Written 19 November 2023
- travel04110 contributionsUnforgettable day!We booked a full day boat/dune Adventure trip with a BBQ at the beach for my daughter’s Birthday. It was simply amazing! The whole day was perfectly organised (from the beginning on the boat till the end of the day) and with so much details and caring people. The BBQ delicious served with Champagne. We had the chance to have the best driver ever on the dunes Pieter, the Boss! He explained us so many things and made this day for all of us but specifically for Kim unforgettable. A special thank to him! You do a amazing job! Thank you for this unforgettable moment with you!Written 13 September 2023
- Seacroft0 contributionsMarvellous MolaAs part of our 9 day tour of Namibia we enjoyed a half day Sandwich Harbour tour which included the marvellous sand dune experience. Our excellent driver guide Andro first took us past the salt pans to the beach and up to the massive dunes which almost touch the sea. Up we went into the dunes like a rollercoaster. Our driver was superb in handling the steep climbs and big drops. We were able to get out and climb the dunes. We also enjoyed a lovely champagne and beer lunch although unfortunately no non alcohol beer was served.Written 29 August 2023
- palehound0 contributionsGreat tour with professional outfitThis was the first of two trips we did with Mola Mola (also did Kayaking - highly recommended). This outfit are very professional and what they managed to cook up for the beach braai was some of the best food we had during our Namibian road trip (and standards of food were high throughout). We then set off to the dunes above sandwich harbour with an excellent 4wd driver (had started just a week before but both his local knowledge and driving skills were top notch). Superb views. Then more snacks and champers. Whole thing from start to finish was a great day outWritten 28 August 2023
- palehound0 contributionsGreat tour with knowledgeable guidesWhat not to like. A trip across to Pelican point and then kayaking waters surrounded by cute seals, who even come aboard your Kayak. The whole Mola Mola outfit are very professional and provide snacks at the end of the Kayaking and an informative 4wd trip back to base.Written 28 August 2023

Just wow. This was a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived on the dockside. Entertained by the pelicans and seals as we waited to board our catamaran, the crew could not have been more helpful. Travelling with my disabled mum, they made sure she was able to board safely and had a great position up front. Our guide for the trip was extraordinary. So passionate, highly amusing and very knowledgeable he kept us entertained for the whole trip. We were offered local sherry, beer, sparkling wine as well as soft drinks regularly and a delightful lunch was provided which included oysters. But what was just outstanding was our interactions with the pelicans and seals which came on board the boat, as well as the fabulous sightings of flamingos, dolphins, mola mola and even a jackal hunting along the shoreline among the thousands of seals. I cannot recommend this company highly enough, well organised, passionate and with a mind to the environment.

We have been to Namibia on a tour which included a cruise in the ocean. Beside the dolphins, the sea lions, the pelicans and the cormorants, we cought sight of a whale!!! During the cruise the captain and his crew offered us fresh oysters sparkling wine and much more. Mola Mola also organizes 4x4 drives in the Namib desert where the white dunes meet the ocean. Breathtaking!!! I do recommend. Flawless!!!

We had a fantastic time on our catamaran trip. A driver picked us up from our hotel and took us to Walvis Bay.
The boat was clean and spacious. There is a covered area in the back of boat as well as a small upper deck and space at the front of the boat. The staff were amazing - very friendly and knowledgeable. We saw whales, dolphins, pelicans, and cape fur seal colony.
Bobby, a friendly seal jumped on board and there were some photo opportunities.
We were served Namibian oysters and champagne and then given a boxed snack.
Despite the rain, we had an wonderful morning on board.

Love how they were on time. The boat looked a little less nice like the other botas, but u soon forget that once u climb on board. Our guide Max was excellent. The gave us drinks, Old Brown sherry, Taffel beer, juice, cold drinks and the lunch, I finally tried oysters for the 1st time and I loved them. the Food was so nice. We did see 2 or 3 dolphins which was awesome.

We set out on this cruise to see dolphins and was unlucky enough not to see any, but even though that was disappointing, the cruise was so enjoyable that it did not really matter. Our skipper and his colleague looked after us extremely well. The boat was spotlessly clean. The refreshments and food was a real treat and bonus. We were given lots if very interesting facts about the area, the lagoon, the oysyer business and saw lots of seals, pelicans and jackals. It was a lovely adventure.

We had a brilliant trip with Max as our guide. He was knowledgeable, friendly and created a fantastic atmosphere. We were lucky to see Benguela dolphins, a humpback whale, "moonfish" and 2 Orcas (as well as the pelicans and seals). Sherry, beer, sparkling wine and the lunch including fresh oysters really finished the trip off. I highly recommend doing it!

Johan, our local guide, who was guiding his maiden cruise tour, was extremely pleasant and had a wide variety of Namibian knowledge. He and Conraad, the skipper, made it an extremely pleasant voyage. We even interacted with some of the wildlife while on board. A great experience all round.
