What to expect
Meet your expert local guide near the Bolshoi Theatre in central Moscow, and after a brief introduction, start out on your 2-hour small-group walking tour. While you stroll, hear interesting tales from your guide that shed light on the history, architecture, culture and politics of Russia’s capital, both now and through the ages. As you walk and talk, pass a string of top Moscow attractions and historical sights. Wander into Red Square, the vast, cobblestoned plaza that forms the heart of the city, and hear about the massive military parades that were staged here during Soviet days.Gaze up at the candy-striped, onion-shaped domes of St Basil’s Cathedral and learn how this extraordinary church was built, first and foremost, to grab people’s attention. Pose for photos outside the unmissable church and then continue across Red Square to Lenin’s Tomb, the mausoleum where the famous Bolshevik leader lies embalmed for all to see. Pass the massive State History Museum, whose artifacts document the history of Russia from as far back as the ice age, and pause outside one of the country’s first department stores: GUM. Then, swing by the swish boutiques and handsome mansions of Nikolskaya Street, and pass the legendary Bolshoi Theatre, the six-tier concert and ballet auditorium. Stroll through the colorful Alexandrovsky Garden for grandstand views of the Kremlin, and hear all about the history of this huge, fortified complex, the seat of power for the now long-done Soviet government and today’s president. Stop at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier where the Changing of the Guard Ceremony is held, and throw a coin in the Alexandrovsky’s mock-ruined grotto for luck. After around two hours of exploring, return to the original start point where your tour ends.

Enthusiastic & knowledgeable walk around central Moscow
I had the tour all to myself! My guide was the charming Tatiana Romanova, funnily enough the same name as a character in James Bond From Russia, With Love. She speaks perfect English & gives an enthusiastic & knowledgeable walk around central Moscow, highlighting notable architecture & quaint anecdotes about Russian history. In my case extended tour to 2 1/2 hours. Definitely well worth the time to get a sense of the area & what to go back & explore further. Thank you Tatiana!!

Getting to Know Moscow
Sep 2019 • Solo
I took my tour my first day in Moscow and since it was the city’s birthday I was the only person. So I had a tailor made tour. I had a really great time getting to know my guide and learning Moscow. My guide spoke English very well and was highly knowledgeable. I spent a month in Russia after this tour and her insight was validated throughout my travels over and over. She also suggested I try the river cruise and I did it that night - highly recommended.

Lydia was very polite and she told us a lot about Russia, Moscow and the history. Will recomend to everyone. The tour lasted for 2 hours, but I want to say that 2 hours was very well spent. You will see and learn about Kremlin, GUM and all places nearby

Lydia was a gem!
Apr 2019 • Friends
My friend and I went on this tour this morning and were incredibly impressed! Lydia was so knowledgeable as a native to the city and a professional tour guide for over 20 years. Not only did she give us an invaluable tour of the city, she also answered all my history questions and engaged with us in cultural conversations and viewpoints. We were lucky enough to have a private tour as it is off-season, which made this a complete steal! I would recommend this walking tour to anyone visiting Moscow.

Great Lydia, highly recommended!
I was the only one in the tour. Instead of being cancelled, I had a private tour! Lydia, the guide, was so sweet and knowledgable. She was, besides giving me a great explanation, asking if I was cold.
The two hour tour is enough if you want to have a high level idea of Moscow center. Very interesting city, highly recommended tour.

Amazing Lydia!
Oct 2018 • Couples
Lydia, our guide, was amazing. Very good English, knowledgeable, an extremely warm person. It was our first contact person in Moscow and she did welcome us in the best possible way. We had coffee after the tour and she advised us as to what to see next and which places to visit. Truly an amazing guide and person as well! It shows that she loves her job. She gives part of her heart while in the tour and you can feel this.

Apr 2018 • Couples
We went on this tour this morning and we were so impressed with the city but particularly with our guide Lydia. She was informative and had a great knowledge of history and the buildings that she brought us to. Her English was exceptional. I would have no hesitation in recommending this tour and particularly this guide.
