What to expect
Leave your central St Petersburg hotel by air-conditioned vehicle and head into the city’s historical heart. Hear about St Petersburg’s short but illustrious past from your guide, learning how it was founded in 1703 and served as Russia’s capital through the 18th and 19th centuries, until 1918. Hear how, during this time, the city presided over many seminal events in Russia’s history, including three revolutions. Head first for St Basil Island, the original hub of the city as planned by its founder, the still-revered Peter the Great. Hop out of your vehicle and stroll to the island’s eastern corner, called the Spit of St Basil Island. Drink in the sweeping city views from here as your guide points out landmarks such as the Palace Embankment, the Winter Palace and the two 18th-century Rostral Columns that still rise from the spit and were built as beacons for passing ships. Continue to the Peter and Paul Fortress, the oldest building in the city. Discover how the complex was intended to protect against a Swedish invasion that never materialized, and was later used as a political prison. Visit the Peter and Paul Cathedral inside the walls, and admire the lavish interior, home to the tombs of Peter the Great and Tsar Nicholas II and his family, murdered in 1917. Drive on to the Nevsky Prospekt, passing the shops and neo-classical residences of this vibrant thoroughfare, and continue into Palace Square, framed by the splendid Winter Palace. Take snaps of this former residence of the Tsars, before moving on to gold-domed St Isaac’s Cathedral, one of St Petersburg’s most imposing sights. Admire this imperious church, and then head for the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, known for its onion-shaped domes. Pose for photos here and marvel at the opulent interior as your guide explains how the church stands where Tsar Alexander II was killed in 1881. After around three hours, finish your tour with a hotel drop-off.

Great tour of St Petersburg highlights
Feb 2020
This is an excellent way to see some of the major sites of St Petersburg. Very comfortable van service, and Irina really took a lot of time to explain the sites, even stopping at more than were in the program. Very much recommended!

This tour was very good. We got a lot of information and you can tell that they are proud to do their job. They were right on time at our hotel. The mini bus was very nice and comfortable. They bought our tickets etc.. It was a very nice tour! I would recommend this to anyone who is visiting st-Petersburg! Many compliments to Kate and the driver!

Exceptional tour
We had a pleasure to take this small city tour. The tour guide Katya was amazing. She was very professional, knowledgeable, funny. At first I was a little skeptical how can you see so many sights in just a few hours and still spend enough time at each sight but they made it happen! We had plenty of time at each location, Katya answered all of our questions. My husband and his mother have never been in Saint Petersburg before and they were amazed, thanks to Katya.
We looked at a lot of private city tours in English but all of them were pretty pricey, this is not technically private, it’s “small” but it was just three of us so it turned out to be private. The van was very comfortable, driver was polite and helpful. We didn’t have to carry our bags every time we were walking around, we just left them In the van which was great. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting Saint Petersburg!

Interesting places in one tour
Jul 2018 • Solo
This tour was supposed to be a small group but I ended up alone with just the guide and driver in a very small car on a hot day - they didn't turn on the air conditioning and it was very hard to see places we were driving by from the back seat. I was nice to skip the line at the Peter and Paul Fortress and the tour guide was knowledgeable but stuck to her script - we didn't have much of a discussion. She was also very pushy about me taking pictures which was nice but I was really trying to soak up the culture and experience the history not just get a picture. If you are looking for a easy way to get around St. Petersburg with a guide this is a good way to go about it but my experience was less than awesome.

Dec 2017 • Couples
My husband and I took this tour on Dec 28, and it exceeded our expectations. As it turned out, we were the only 2 people in the group, which made the interaction with our guide really personal. The pick up from our hotel was on time, and our guide (Katiya) was extremely knowledgeable and professional, and spoke passionately of the history behind each of the great sites we visited. Her story-telling was highly engaging and gave us a fabulous insight into this amazing city. I would highly recommend this to anyone on a visit to St Petersburg.

Good day Lisa! Thank you, for your encouraging feedback. It truly is important for us to make the trip personal because we understand how much the city image depends on the guide's personality. Katiya is highly professional and we are happy you have enjoyed your tour with her.

Good day, Mr. Peter! We are happy you enjoyed the City Highlight tour. In autumn Saint Petersburg has its own charm. In fact, this is the season most people associate Saint Petersburg with.Peter and Paul's fortress, St.Isaac's Cathedral, the Bronze Horseman are all the "postcard" places and we are happy you took a chance to see them live. Irina knows a lot about the city and specializes in the history of Russian nobility. We are glad you have enjoyed Irina's company.
