This was a fabulous day trip in Xian. It is well organized and planned and something not to missed while in Xian. The Terracotta Warriors have been well preserved and are well presented with great, close access available to leave a lasting experience.

We booked our tour very late and were surprised to find we were the only two on the tour,
Essentially now a private tour. We were picked up at our hotel around 8:15am. Our guide Coco was very friendly and spoke perfect English. The tour included the inevitable factory visit but as there was only two of us it was quick and painless. The tour of the Terracotta Army was wonderful and Coco’s knowledge really shone through making the tour very educational. Lunch was included in the tour and it was reasonable. Our day was shortened by the fact there was only two of us and we were back in the city by 3:30pm. I would recommend the tour and hope you get lucky like we did.

A must see if you are visiting China. So fascinating to think these were created thousands of years ago depicting the army from the first emporer of China. Since it is indoors, you can visit any time of the year. It was crowded when I went but it was still easy to see everything.

Pretty disappointing! First, it appears that we paid too much, since another couple paid around 50€ less when they booked it directly at our hotel.
During the first 2 hours of the tour we were not sure if we were on the right one, because the pick-up at the hotel was very chaotic and no names or room numbers were asked and the guide just pointed at us. When asking for reassurance, the guide did not understand what we meant and kept smiling. That's in addition to never being contacted by the tour operator in the first place to confirm the exact pick-up time.
Our first stop was the Banpoo Museum and if you have ever been to an European archeological excavation site there is no need for you to go there. The presentation of our guide seemed poorly prepared and she kept looking at the signs for help. And it didn't help that the signs were in poor English as well.
The next stop was the Terracotta Warriors Museum where we were shown how the warriors are made. This was somewhat interesting and the guide from the museum (Anna) spoke excellent English. We then had some time to stroll through the shop next door and later we had an excellent, but not traditional Chinese meal.
Afterwards, we went to the Terracotta Warriors which were really impressive, although very crowdy and sometimes you got pushed through. Before going back to the hotel, we stopped at a Mausoleum which was more of a 20 minute walk through a garden and not really necessary.
In general, the Terracotta Warriors were impressive, the lunch good but the other sites not that interesting. Unfortunately, the English of our guide was not good and therefore we did not learn any information on the monuments and could not ask our questions. An example that describes her English skills is the following question: "who the terrakotta warriors were founded?" when she actually meant "how were the warriors found?". Hence, her elaborations were sometimes impossible to understand and the receiver did not really work at times.

Sara was our tour guide and I felt she did a great job. She provide informative commentary during the bus ride to the sites and was very friendly. I would advise against bringing small kids on this tour as a couple of small kids on my tour got too tired to walk. Again, read the tour name as it says it is a "full day" tour. Good parts of this tour include a great buffet lunch, and of course all the pits of the terracotta warrior museum. I felt the tourist trap at the terracotta stores was obviously not necessary but it was fun for my son. He got to keep a small pearl from the oyster they cracked open. I also wished they took us to the terracotta warriors as the first stop to get it out of the way because since we went there at the end in the afternoon there were hordes of people in the museum. One suggestion I would recommend is to allow us to have some free time at the museum to shop.

This is a well organised and extremely popular world class attraction. A well planned out walk through the buildings will help do some research before, spend a couple of days in the village and spa

It is an amazing place to visit. There are four buildings to visit and you must ensure to visit all of them though it is crowded most of the time. You may also have the chance to see archaeologists still working on the site. A place one must visit in Xian.

There are four buildings, and you will want to be sure to visit all of them. In some area archeologists are still digging and working on the site. But it is an amazing place to tour and you will remember the warriors the rest of your life.

I’ve done the tour and I don’t think the company will pick you up from Beijing. It’s about a 12 hour drive between Beijing and Xi’an. You’ll need to get yourself to Xi’an first
