- F2390VAamyl0 contributionsPrivate tour and driver at Xi'an.I have engaged a private driver cum tour guide for 2 days in Xi'an to bring me 1st day to terracotta warriors museum and huaqing gong followed by a performance in the evening. 2nd day to famen temple and qianling. This tour guide is very experienced that he explained the history in great details and we are very satisfied with his service. Although his charges is a bit expensive but it is worth it. His name is Robin, can be contacted via WeChat @ RobinZhang00A.Written 17 November 2024

- ivantG4335PR0 contributionsInformative and informative enjoyable tour.I very much enjoyed the tour given by Rosa and the driver Wang. Upon learning that I have a strong interest in China history, she regaled me with details and stories relating to the sites that I visited and passed by. So if you are looking for a guide that can give you the depth, Rosa would be most suitable. Rosa is also effectively bilingual and is able to tailor her narration based on one’s interest. Finally, I also find Rosa to be thoughtful and helpful. For example, when I asked her about other places in Xi An to visit, she helped me on her own initiative to make reservation.Written 28 November 2023
- CarolinaPalha0 contributionsEXCELLENT TOUR AND GUIDEWe were a group of 8 - friends & families - coming from Beijing in the night train. We visited Big Goose Pagoda in the morning and Terracota Warriors in the afternoon. Perfect timing for visits and time to rest, set up by Nancy. She was a superb guide, extremely professional and providing all kinds of collateral information that is necessary for westerners (from Portugal, by the way) to understand better what we were visiting. Good lunch at a recommended restaurant and we were also left with time to make some shopping (I purchased one big terracota warrior, very nice at home now that I´m back). We were left in the railway station to catch thr night train to Shangai and Nancy stayed with us intil we boarded the train. Excellent tour, professional guide, good value for the money.Written 7 October 2019
- LH N0 contributionsWonderful time in Xi’an!Kris was an excellent tour guide. She met us upon our arrival at the train station, delivered us to our hotel and during the drive there gave us an overview of Xi’an. Kris was friendly, fun and most enjoyable. The trip to the Terra Cotta Warriors was simply outstanding. We had so many enjoyable moments that it is difficult to describe which was best. While the weather was very cold, somehow Kris provided great warmth to this trip. To end our time together in Xi’an, Kris walked me to this scrumptious bakery to pick up a few desserts to take to our hotel room. It was a perfect way to end our time in Xi’an. Kris was a great guide and I highly recommend her.Written 7 January 2019
- SeasonedVenturer0 contributionsProfessional and KnowledgeableSunflower in Beijing arranged for Kris and a driver to meet us at the train station. Sunflower literally escorted us to our train seats on the train. On the return, Kris was not allowed to do this but she got a pass so she could go inside the train station to explain very carefully to us how the system worked. Her instructions were very precise and helped us immensely as some things were in English and some things were not. We would highly recommend the non-stop bullet train. It allows you to skip all the issues with air travel. More importantly, it gives you a good idea of the countryside between Beijing and Xian while still being very comfortable especially if you buy the more expensive class. When we arrived, it was already mid-afternoon so the first day was an extended half-day. We walked in the Muslim quarter and walked on the city wall. Kris showed us many highlights including food specialties. Her knowledge is encyclopedic but she presented the information in a non- boring way. We were grateful for her approach as we were still tired from traveling from the U.S. She also had a fun surprise for us and positioned us perfectly for a fountain show. It was a lovely way to end the day. The next day, we spent much of the day with Kris and the warriors. Kris did an amazing job of telling us the stories that go with the re-discovery of the warriors, preservation, the different pits etc. It was great the way she made the visit very memorable. We also had a lot of laughs when all of a sudden my husband decided he wanted to bring back a full-sized replica. Kris did not wince at what could have been a total derailment of the day's activities. Fortunately, it was decided that she could help us from afar should the desire to have a warrior of our own still seem like a good idea later. She was so diplomatic and professional and truly saved the day. We, thus, maximized our limited time in Xian. She recommended a local restaurant that was delicious. She helped us pick dishes that we were not familiar with in the US, including being very helpful with my vegetarianism. Through all of this, we were able to establish a rapport in a very short amount of time and get a sense of her story and life in the PRC. For us, we like connecting with our guides in this way. It seems to make it much easier to remember things when wound around a person with which you are spending time. She was able to share how her life fit in with the growth of the city, etc. I would definitely recommend Kris for her skills and presentation!Written 22 December 2018
- Cwljr0 contributionsXi’an - Amazing!!!We had an outstanding visit to Xi’an. Kris was an expert in all areas. The visit to the Xi’an fortress wall is a must. We took a tandem bike ride along the entire wall - approximately 10 miles. Our entire family loved it! Seeing the Xi’an warriors was beyond anything we have seen. Similar to visiting the great pyramids. Kris’ understanding of the history was excellent. We also asked to dine in restaurants where she and her family would eat verses the typical restaurant that caters to tourists. The food was amazing and we could feed a family of 5 for $8. Kris helped coordinate our transfer to the rail station and stayed with us every step of the way to ensure we got on the right train. Simply the best.Written 16 December 2018
- KrisPR10 contributionsVery pleasant experienceOur time in Xian was short, but we had a wonderful time with our tour guide Kris. She was very helpful in providing all the information about the city, and very knowledgeable about the history of Xian. She was at our hotel in the morning and took us to see the Terracotta warriors, which if you are in Xian is a must. After the warriors, Kris took us to a local restaurant for lunch which was by far one of the best lunch we have had in China! Omg! Amazing noodles and pork hamburgers!! We ended our tour at the muslim quarter where she showed us around and providing information about the muslim church which was very interesting. Kris was very patient with us while we bargained for goodies around the muslim quarter and had us take our time for whatever we needed. She is an awesome tour guide and I will definitely recommend having her as your tour guide while in Xian. Thank you again Kris!Written 15 September 2018
